Lorenzen allowed five runs on five hits and two walks while striking out five batters over 5.2 innings in a no-decision during Monday's 8-5 win over the Royals in 10 innings.

Detroit gave Lorenzen a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning, but that was quickly erased when he surrendered three runs in the bottom of the frame. Those runs came by way of homers by Vinnie Pasquantino and Salvador Perez. Lorenzen settled down to hold the Royals scoreless between the second and fourth innings, but he served up another long ball -- a two-run shot by Jackie Bradley -- in the fifth. The three homers were the most the right-hander has surrendered in a game this season, and it was the third time in seven appearances that he has given up five or more runs. On the plus side, Lorenzen has been very good across his other four outings, posting a 0.72 ERA and 0.88 WHIP over 25 frames.

Javier (5-1) earned the win Monday in Houston's 12-2 victory over Milwaukee, allowing one run on four hits and one walk while striking out five batters over six innings.

Javier served up a second-inning solo homer to Rowdy Tellez, but that was the only run the Brewers could manage against him. Meanwhile, Houston pounded out 10 runs over the first six frames, allowing Javier to exit with a win comfortably in his grasp. The right-hander finished with his fourth straight quality start and sixth overall this season while lowering his ERA to 3.07. Javier has given up more than three earned runs just once across 10 starts.

Ober (3-1) took the loss against San Francisco on Monday, allowing four runs on three hits and three walks while striking out two batters over five innings.

Ober had a disastrous start to the contest, issuing three walks and surrendering two hits (a double and a homer) while allowing four runs before notching his first out. To his credit, the right-hander bounced back and held the Giants to just one hit and no runs the rest of the way, but enough damage had already been done to send him to his first loss of the campaign. Though Ober's fantasy managers won't be happy with this performance, there is likely some relief in seeing the non-catastrophic final line given how the outing started for him. Ober still owns an excellent 2.55 ERA and 0.99 WHIP on the season.

Muller dropped to 1-4 on the season after allowing six runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out three over five innings in Monday's 11-2 loss to the Mariners.

Muller struggled early, giving up a two-run home run to Jarred Kelenic in the first inning and a three-run blast to Jose Caballero an inning later. Muller has allowed at least five runs in six of his 10 starts this season, including each of his last four outings. He has an awful 8.04 ERA with a 1.96 WHIP and 33:23 K:BB across 47 innings. It won't get any easier, as he's tentatively projected for a home start versus the Astros this weekend.

Castillo (3-2) earned the win Monday over the Athletics, allowing four hits and two walks while striking out eight over six scoreless innings in Seattle's 11-2 victory.

The Mariners had an 8-0 lead when Castillo exited the contest, allowing him to cruise to a win after he was tagged for seven runs in five innings in his last start. Castillo kept runs off the board in three of his first four starts of the season, but had given up 14 runs (12 earned) across his three most recent efforts before bouncing back Monday. He now has a 2.97 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 66:13 K:BB through 57.2 innings this season. Castillo is projected for a home start versus the Pirates this weekend.

Bassitt (5-3) allowed six runs (two earned) on seven hits and a walk over 6.1 innings Monday, striking out four and taking a loss against the Rays.

Bassitt entered Monday riding a 27-inning scoreless streak, but he lost that quickly when the Rays plated three runs in the second inning. He gave up three home runs in the rough outing, including a solo shot to Luke Raley that knocked him out of the game, after giving up just two long balls over his previous eight starts. Bassitt still owns a strong 3.03 ERA with a 52:24 K:BB through 62.1 innings. His next start is projected to be in Minnesota this weekend.

Houck allowed a run on three hits and two walks while striking out eight over six innings in a no-decision during Monday's 2-1 loss to the Angels.

Houck has had some trouble working through the order multiple times, but he set down 11 of the last 12 batters he faced Monday and erased the one exception with a double play. This was his best outing of the year, though he's still winless over his last five starts and has just two quality starts in nine contests. Houck has a 4.99 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 46:17 K:BB through 48.2 innings this season. With off days Thursday and next Monday, the Red Sox may not need a sixth starter until they have a doubleheader June 3 versus the Rays. That could lead to Houck being available out of the bullpen over the weekend if Garrett Whitlock (elbow) returns as expected Saturday versus the Diamondbacks.

Waldichuk (calf) threw a side session Monday and is on track to make his next scheduled start Wednesday against the Mariners, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Waldichuk sustained a mild calf strain in his last outing Friday, but he has thrown a couple times since, and it appears he will avoid missing any action. Waldichuk faced Seattle once last season but has not done so since the current campaign began.

McGee (forearm) is expected to undergo Tommy John surgery, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

While a date for the procedure has not been scheduled, it looks like McGee is out for the remainder of the current campaign and at least a portion of the next one. A more accurate timeline for his recovery could be revealed after the operation has been performed.

Glasnow (oblique) is expected to be activated from the 15-day injured list to start Saturday's game versus the Dodgers, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

He would be available on regular rest Friday, but Glasnow and the rest of the Rays' rotation members will get an extra day of rest while Cooper Criswell serves as a bulk reliever in the series opener with the Dodgers. Glasnow allowed just one run while posting a 20:5 K:BB over 13.1 innings covering four rehab starts. He threw 67 pitches in his last rehab outing Sunday, so he should be available for 90 or so pitches this weekend in what will be his 2023 MLB debut.
