  • Twins' Simeon Woods Richardson: Nabs second straight win

Woods Richardson (4-4) picked up the win Wednesday, allowing one run on two hits and two walks over five innings in a 2-1 victory over the Marlins. He struck out three.

The right-hander got the hook after 75 pitches (50 strikes), and while he hasn't been providing the Twins with much length, Woods Richardson has at least been giving them stronger results of late. Over his last four trips to the mound, he's posted a 1.71 ERA, 0.76 WHIP and 18:7 K:BB through 21 innings. With Bailey Ober (hip) joining Zebby Matthews (shoulder) and Pablo Lopez (shoulder) on the IL this week, Woods Richardson's spot in the rotation seems very secure regardless of his numbers. He'll look to extend his win streak to three in his next start, which lines up to come at home early next week against the Cubs.

  • Shane Bieber SP | TOR

Guardians' Shane Bieber: Throws first live BP

Bieber (elbow) threw a live batting practice session Tuesday, MLB.com reports.

This was Bieber's first live BP following a string of bullpen sessions last week. Cleveland manager Stephen Vogt said Tuesday's session went "really well," but the pitcher's next step is to be determined. A best-case scenario for the right-hander's return is by the end of July.

  • Tanner Houck SP | BOS

Red Sox's Tanner Houck: Fourth rehab outing scheduled

Houck (elbow) is scheduled to make his next rehab start with Double-A Portland on Friday, MLB.com reports.

The right-hander labored through his first three rehab appearances at Triple-A Worcester, giving up a combined 12 hits (two home runs), four walks and nine earned runs over 6.1 innings. Houck will bump down a level for his fourth rehab outing, but as long as he's able to build on the 65 pitches and 3.2 innings he covered during his most recent start with Worcester, he could be cleared to rejoin the Red Sox rotation next week.

  • Hunter Brown SP | HOU

Astros' Hunter Brown: Splendid work continues in Colorado

Brown (9-3) recorded the win Wednesday against the Rockies, giving up two runs on six hits and one walk in six innings. He struck out eight.

The damage came on a Mickey Moniak two-run shot in the second inning, but Brown conceded five innocuous singles otherwise. The right-hander registered a strong 17 whiffs on the evening, and he also fired at least six frames while surrendering two runs or fewer for the 12th time already this season. Brown will take an exceptional 1.82 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 126:29 K:BB across 104 innings into what sets up as a favorable home matchup versus the struggling Guardians, who have a .594 OPS over their last 24 games.

  • Tanner Bibee SP | CLE

Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Labors in ninth loss

Bibee (4-9) took the loss Wednesday against the Cubs, giving up five runs on six hits and four walks in four innings. He struck out five.

Bibee labored particularly in the third inning, when he threw 32 pitches to stretch his count up to 73 for the game at that point. Wednesday ultimately matched the 26-year-old right-hander's shortest outing of the year, and his four walks also tied a season high. Bibee's performance has been up and down in 2025 with a 4.20 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 87:30 K:BB across 98.2 frames, and a difficult task against the Astros in Houston awaits him in his next scheduled appearance.

  • Nathan Eovaldi SP | TEX

Rangers' Nathan Eovaldi: Cruises in five scoreless innings

Eovaldi (5-3) recorded the win Wednesday against the Orioles, giving up no runs on two hits and one walk in five innings. He struck out five.

Eovaldi was making his second start after spending a month on the shelf with a triceps injury, and the Rangers decided to turn to their bullpen following the hurler's 72 pitches while they held a 6-0 lead. It was the veteran right-hander's fifth scoreless outing of at least five frames this season, and he poured in 50 of his pitches for strikes. Eovaldi will try to build up closer to a full workload in his next scheduled appearance against the Angels in Anaheim, where he'll bring a stellar 1.75 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 80:13 K:BB over 77.1 innings.

  • Orioles' Tomoyuki Sugano: Continues to get knocked around

Sugano (6-5) took the loss Wednesday against the Rangers, giving up six runs on 10 hits and one walk in 4.2 innings. He struck out five.

After yielding a career-high seven runs on nine hits his last time out, Sugano's struggles dragged into Wednesday's start. The right-hander had surrendered greater than three runs on a lone occasion through his first 15 outings of the year, but he's now been knocked around for 13 runs on 19 hits over his last two appearances. Sugano has posted a 8.87 ERA, 2.15 WHIP and 17:8 K:BB across his past five starts (22.1 innings), so he appears to be difficult to trust in his next scheduled outing at home versus a tough Mets lineup.

  • Sean Burke P | CHW

White Sox's Sean Burke: Lights out in bulk relief

Burke didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against the Dodgers, allowing one run on six hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out five.

The only damage against Burke came in the second inning, when Andy Pages clubbed a solo homer. Wednesday's outing continued a stellar stretch of play for the 25-year-old pitcher, who's allowed just two earned runs in his last three starts (16.1 innings) to go along with a 19:5 K:BB. His season-long ERA is down to 4.03 across 87 innings. Burke is lined up to face the Blue Jays early next week.

  • Logan Evans RP | SEA

Mariners' Logan Evans: Filling open spot in rotation

The Mariners will recall Evans from Triple-A Tacoma to start Thursday's game against the Royals, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

With Bryce Miller (elbow) likely out until late July and with Emerson Hancock recently getting demoted to Triple-A, Evans will come up from the minors to claim the fifth spot in Seattle's rotation. The 24-year-old has already made seven starts for the Mariners this season, turning in a 3.38 ERA and 1.33 WHIP alongside a 30:12 K:BB over 40 innings, but he gave up eight runs in only three frames during his most recent outing with Tacoma this past Saturday. That being said, Evans will draw a favorable matchup in his return to the big club, as he'll face a Royals offense that has posted a .617 OPS over the past two weeks.

  • Royals' Noah Cameron: Shuts down Mariners

Cameron didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against Seattle, allowing four hits and one walk with five strikeouts across 4.2 scoreless innings.

Cameron delivered his fourth scoreless start of his rookie season, bouncing back from two consecutive losses and an appearance in which he yielded five runs over four innings to the Dodgers. Eleven of the 25-year-old's 16 earned runs allowed over 55.1 innings in 2025 have come in two starts: the aforementioned outing against Los Angeles and a June 27 start against the Yankees. When he hasn't faced arguably the two most potent offenses in baseball, he's been utterly dominant, boasting a 0.96 ERA and a 33:15 K:BB in 46.2 innings. He's slated to face the Pirates next time out.
