Manoah (1-0) was dominant in Monday's 3-0 win over the Yankees, allowing one run and four walks over six scoreless innings. He struck out seven.

The young right-hander's control wavered at times and he threw only 52 of 89 pitches for strikes, but Manoah made sure the Yankees weren't able to take advantage by preventing any hard contact -- the only hit New York managed was a Joey Gallo single in the second inning that only made it through the infield because of a defensive shift. Manoah will look to keep rolling in his next scheduled start, at home Saturday against the A's.

Karprielian (shoulder) threw 45 pitches during a sim game at the Athletics' minor-league complex in Arizona on Sunday and is slated to pitch again Friday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports. "He was really happy and excited," manager Mark Kotsay said. "Kap's right on track. The mentality is one day at a time. [Sunday] was a good day."

With Kaprielian's Sunday session having gone smoothly. the right-hander is likely to pitch that next outing at one of the organization's minor-league affiliates. If his rehabilitation continues free of setbacks, Kaprielian appears to be on track to make his season debut by the end of April.

Flexen (0-1) allowed three runs on five hits over 4.1 innings to take the loss against Minnesota on Monday. He struck out three and walked three.

Flexen gave up a first-inning run but then went unscathed until the fifth. In that frame, he gave up a pair of hits to lead off the inning and was pulled for a reliever with one out. Both inherited runners came around to score, saddling Flexen with an unfavorable final line and leading to the loss. The right-hander will look for better results in his next start, which is tentatively scheduled to take place at home against Houston this weekend.

Bundy (1-0) earned the win over Seattle on Monday, completing five scoreless innings during which he allowed one hit and one walk while striking out two.

Bundy wasn't overpowering in the outing -- he struck out only two and induced just six swinging strikes -- but the veteran crafted his way to a win in his Minnesota debut by allowing just one hit and one walk. The Twins committed two errors behind him, but that didn't phase the veteran, who worked his way out of a third-inning jam after Seattle put a runner on third base with no outs. Bundy struggled to a 6.06 ERA over 90.2 innings with the Angels last season, but he was among the AL's top starters in 2020 and could be primed for a bounce-back campaign if he's able to avoid the home run issues that have plagued him much of his career. Bundy's next start is expected to be a challenging matchup in Boston next Monday.

Lorenzen (1-0) got the victory in Monday's 6-2 win over the Marlins, allowing one run on two hits with seven strikeouts in six innings.

Lorenzen permitted just two baserunners and made one mistake -- a Jesus Sanchez fourth-inning solo home run -- in submitting an impressive start. The 30-year-old had only started five games since his rookie season way back in 2015 prior to Monday's outing, but with the success he should stick around Los Angeles' six-man rotation for at least one more turn next Monday in Houston.

Civale allowed four runs (two earned) on four hits and three walks over 3.1 frames in Monday's win over the Royals. He struck out three and did not factor in the decision.

Civale loaded the bases in the first inning but escaped before the Royals could get on the board. He was tagged for a run in the third on an RBI single by Salvador Perez before running into more trouble in the fourth. Civale was charged with three runs in the innings, including one after he was lifted in favor of Trevor Stephan. The 26-year-old will look for better results against the Giants at home this weekend.

Blackburn (1-0) earned the win over Tampa Bay on Monday, pitching five scoreless innings during which he allowed three runs and one walk while striking out seven.

The fact that Blackburn -- who entered the contest with a career 5.74 ERA -- was the starting pitcher who ended Tampa's season-opening three-game winning streak is improbable in itself, and his effectiveness in doing so is equally surprising. The right-hander racked up a career-high seven strikeouts after posting a K/9 below 7.0 in each of his previous MLB seasons during which he played more than one game. Whether this performance indicates a late-20s turnaround for Blackburn or is merely an aberration remains to be seen, but it is an excellent beginning to the campaign for the hurler. He'll look to build off the performance in his next start, which is tentatively slated to come Saturday in Toronto.

Manning pitched six innings of one-run ball but did not factor into the decision in Monday's win over the Red Sox. He allowed just one hit and no walks, while striking out two.

Manning was dialed in Monday, with his only mistake a J.D. Martinez solo home run in the fifth inning. The righty only logged 68 pitches, so he likely could have gone further, but it was also his first outing of the regular season so the Tigers didn't push him too far. Manning struggled last year with a 5.80 ERA and 1.51 WHIP across 18 starts, so it's encouraging to see a much better 2022 debut. The 24-year-old is slated to pitch again Saturday against the Royals.

Canning (back) is expected to begin throwing off a mound during the Angels' upcoming road trip, which begins Thursday against the Rangers, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Canning progressed to playing long toss in late March and is now set to resume mound work in the near future. The 25-year-old will miss at least the first two months of the season due to a stress fracture in his back, but his rehab appears to be going smoothly since suffering a setback prior to spring training.

Faedo (elbow) covered three scoreless innings Saturday for High-A Lakeland in its 5-1 win over Tampa. He allowed no walks and one hit and struck out two in the 28-pitch outing.

The appearance was Faedo's first in affiliated ball since 2019, as he had missed the past two seasons while recovering from December 2020 Tommy John surgery. The Tigers assigned Faedo to Lakeland so he could built up his pitch count in the more favorable Florida weather during the spring, but he's eventually expected to settle in the rotation at Double-A Erie or Triple-A Toledo.
