Greinke (10-3) allowed one earned run on five hits and two walks while striking out four across six innings, earning the win over the Rangers on Sunday.

Greinke's only damage against him came from Eli White's sixth-inning solo home run. He continued his streak of allowing three or less runs over his last seven starts. The 37-year-old has a 3.48 ERA and a 1.12 WHIP across 126.2 innings. His next start is scheduled for Saturday in San Francisco.

Detmers made his first start for Triple-A Salt Lake on Saturday, throwing six scoreless innings during which he struck out nine batters.

The move up to the highest level of the minors didn't phase the left-hander, as he blanked Las Vegas across six frames while allowing only three hits. Detmers' nine punchouts upped his season total to 106, second only to Yankees prospect Glenn Otto across the minors. Detmers has enjoyed an impressive July, posting a 1.42 ERA and 30:4 K:BB over 19 frames.

Bubic is scheduled to make his next start Wednesday against the White Sox, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Bubic re-entered the rotation last week after Danny Duffy (forearm) and Brady Singer (shoulder) were placed on the injured list, and he capitalized on the opportunity. He worked six solid innings against Detroit, giving up a run on six hits and two walks en route to capturing his third win of the season. Neither Duffy nor Singer is due back this week, so Bubic will pick up a second straight turn through the rotation.

Ober allowed two earned runs on three hits and one walk while striking out four across 5.1 innings in the loss to the Angels on Sunday. He did not factor into the decision.

Ober surrendered a fifth-inning home run to Max Stassi to tie the game. He was relieved with one out in the sixth inning. It was his longest start of the season. The 25-year-old has a 5.19 ERA and a 1.27 WHIP over 43.1 innings. His next start is scheduled for Saturday in St. Louis.

Irvin (7-9) was tagged with the loss Sunday against the Mariners after allowing four runs on five hits and a walk while fanning three across four innings.

Irvin was coming off an excellent outing in which he tossed seven scoreless innings earlier this week, but he couldn't build off that performance and delivered his shortest appearance of the campaign. He also ended a streak of five straight starts allowing three or fewer runs.

Gonzales (3-5) earned the win Sunday against the Athletics after allowing two runs on five hits and two walks while fanning four across 5.2 innings.

Gonzales ended just one out away from recording his fourth quality start of the season, but he did just enough to earn his third win of the year. He now has two wins in a row and clinched back-to-back victories for the first time in 2021 while also allowing exactly two runs in each start. He's scheduled to pitch again during the road series against the Rangers later this week.

Boyd (triceps) was cleared to begin throwing off a mound last week and is expected to begin a rehab assignment in early August, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Considering Boyd has been on the shelf since mid-June with left triceps tendinitis, he may need two rehab starts in the minors to ramp up his pitch count before Detroit activates him from the 10-day injured list. A firmer target date for the start of his rehab assignment likely won't be available until he advances to facing hitters in live batting practice.

Tigers general manager Al Avila said last week that Teheran (shoulder) has a chance to return from the 60-day injured list in late September, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Updates on Teheran have been scarce since he was diagnosed April 11 with a right shoulder strain, and that's likely a reflection of the limited progress he's made in his rehab over the past three-plus months. Given that Teheran isn't even close to beginning a rehab assignment following his prolonged shutdown, the Tigers are bracing for the likelihood that he won't pitch again in 2021. Teheran is 30 years old and set to become a free agent this winter, so Detroit has little incentive to rush him back when he probably doesn't have much of a future in the organization.

Lynch (1-2) allowed five hits over eight scoreless innings Sunday, striking out four and earning a win over the Tigers.

Making his first big-league start since May, Lynch completely dominated Detroit in his first MLB win. He allowed just one extra-base hit, and the only real threat he faced was a two-out situation in the second inning with runners on second and third. The rookie southpaw lasted just eight combined innings in three starts before Sunday's outing, and he still owns an unsightly 7.88 ERA. Lynch should get another look in the rotation after finally flashing the stuff that made him one of baseball's top pitching prospects.

Stripling allowed one run on five hits through five innings in Sunday's loss to the Mets. He struck out six and did not factor in the decision.

The only damage against Stripling was an RBI single by Jonathan Villar in the second inning. It was a strong performance after he yielded 10 runs and five homers in just four innings over his last two starts. The 6-foot-3 righty now owns a 4.84 ERA through 80 frames. Stripling is projected to face the Royals at home next week.
