The Athletics recalled Kaprielian from their alternate training site Monday, Shayna Rubin of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

He'll be designated as Oakland's 29th man for Monday's doubleheader with the Mariners, providing the Athletics with an extra multi-inning relief option during the twin bill. Expect Oakland to return Kaprielian to the alternate site after the doubleheader concludes.

Montas was placed on the paternity list Monday, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Players typically spend around three days on the paternity list. If Montas misses no more time than that, the move will have no effect on his playing time, as his spot in the rotation isn't due up until Saturday against San Francisco. It's possible that pandemic-related protocols delay him for a day or two upon his return, however.

Morton allowed three runs on six hits and no walks while striking out four over 4.1 innings in Sunday's loss to the Red Sox. He didn't factor into the decision.

The Rays' offense provided Morton with a narrow lead in the fourth inning, but the advantage quickly slipped away in the top of the fifth inning, forcing him to settle for a no-decision. On a more encouraging note, the right-hander threw 77 pitches (55 strikes) as he continues to steadily build back up to full strength following his month-long absence. Barring any setbacks, the right-hander should be able to handle a full workload by the time the postseason begins in two weeks. Morton's next start should come on the road Saturday against Baltimore.

Perez (3-4) allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits and two walks while striking out six over five innings as he earned the win Sunday against the Rays.

Perez has been wildly inconsistent recently, but he earned his first win in over a month as he got some help from the Rays' offense. He also matched his highest strikeout total of the season against the top team in the American League East. The southpaw will attempt to build on his momentum at home Saturday against the Yankees.

Means allowed one run on five hits and one walk while striking out four over six innings in Sunday's loss to the Yankees. He didn't factor into the decision.

After posting shaky results to begin the season, Means has settled into a groove over his past two starts, allowing one run over six innings in each of those appearances. While he was rewarded with the win his last time around, he had to settle for a no-decision Sunday as the Orioles' offense mustered only one run. Means will attempt to remain effective at home Friday against the Rays.

Greinke (3-2) allowed five runs on eight hits and struck out three over five innings in a loss to the Dodgers on Sunday.

Greinke allowed a solo shot to A.J. Pollock in the first inning, and then kept things close until the Dodgers rallied for four more runs in the fifth. The 36-year-old Greinke has allowed three or more runs in each of his last five starts, rocketing his ERA from 1.84 to 3.77 in that span. He's added a 1.06 WHIP and 53:8 K:BB across 57.1 innings this season. The right-hander is expected to make his next start Friday versus the Diamondbacks.

Keller (4-2) allowed five hits and a walk while striking out two across nine scoreless innings to earn the win Sunday against the Pirates.

Keller didn't overpower the Pirates but was able to pepper the strike zone as 73 of his 111 pitches were strikes. It was another strong effort for Keller, as he's now allowed one or fewer earned runs in five of his seven outings this season. He has had two fairly big missteps in his remaining starts, but overall he has a tremendous 2.06 ERA with a more middling 26:14 K:BB across 43.2 frames. Keller's next turn through the rotation is currently projected to come Sunday at Milwaukee.

Dunn allowed one run on one hit and five walks across two innings in Sunday's 7-3 win over the Diamondbacks. He fanned five and did not factor in the decision.

Though he tallied five strikeouts, Dunn was pulled after throwing 66 pitches over just two innings. Despite struggling badly with his command and issuing five free passes, the right-hander managed to limit Arizona to just one run. The 24-year old will look to display better control and work deeper into the game when he takes the ball next Sunday against the Padres.

Heaney (4-3) picked up the win Sunday against the Rockies, allowing three runs on eight hits across seven innings. He struck out eight and did not issue a walk.

It marked a nice bounce back for the southpaw, who allowed five runs in a loss to the Rangers on Sept. 8. Heaney fell behind 3-1 in the third inning but buckled down to finish with four scoreless frames. It was looking like he might be a tough-luck loser after the seventh, but Albert Pujols' eighth-inning homer put him in line to get the win. The lefty will take a 4.02 ERA into his start against the Rangers on Saturday.

Montas (3-4) yielded four runs on seven hits and a walk over 5.1 innings Sunday, striking out seven and taking the loss against Texas.

Through five innings, Montas had allowed just one run on a solo shot by Derek Dietrich. However, his outing was ruined by Rougned Odor's three-run blast in the sixth. It was the fourth time in his last five starts that he allowed four or more runs. Montas will carry a 5.86 ERA into Saturday's home contest against the Giants.
