Lyles allowed five runs on nine hits and two walks over seven innings in a 10-6 loss to Oakland on Friday.

After opener Luis Garcia failed to record an out, Lyles preserved the rest of the Rangers' bullpen by throwing seven innings of relief. Lyles threw 115 pitches in what was the longest relief appearance by a Ranger since 2008.

Allard is the scheduled starter for the second game of Saturday's doubleheader at home against Oakland.

Allard's overall numbers are not pretty, but his two starts at Globe Life Field have gone well. He has a 1.74 ERA in two starts at home, including taking a no-hitter into the sixth inning against the Athletics on Aug. 26.

Keuchel (back) is tentatively expected to return from the injured list to start next Thursday against the Twins, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Keuchel was placed on the injured list Thursday, retroactive to Sept. 7, so he will be eligible to return for the fourth game of the series against Minnesota. That's an important series between the two leaders in the AL Central.

Giolito allowed three runs on four hits and four walks while striking out seven across 5.2 innings Friday against the Tigers. He did not factor into the decision.

Giolito's stat line from Friday's outing looks a lot worse than it actually was. He wasn't particularly efficient, needing 114 pitches to get through 5.2 innings, but he took a one-hit shutout into the sixth inning before running into some trouble. Giolito surrendered a leadoff single to Jonathan Schoop before walking the next two batters to load the bases. Jorge Bonifacio was able to drive in the first run with a sacrifice fly and then Daz Cameron hit a two-run single to right, forcing Rick Renteria to pull the right-hander. Giolito will take a 3.43 ERA and 1.03 WHIP into his next outing against the Twins on Wednesday.

Maeda (5-1) did not allow a run while giving up four hits and two walks across seven innings as he earned the win Friday against the Indians. He struck out seven.

Maeda tossed seven shutout innings as he engaged in a pitcher's duel with Shane Bieber all night. It was the 32-year-old's second scoreless outing this season with both coincidentally coming against the Indians. The Twins have gotten a great bargain out of Maeda from their offseason trade with the Dodgers as he is enjoying a career year highlighted by his 2.43 ERA and 63:10 K:BB. He'll look to keep things rolling in a tough road matchup against the White Sox on Wednesday.

Odorizzi (abdomen) pitched in a intrasquad game Friday and could return from the injured list next week, manager Rocco Baldelli told the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

It sounds like Odorizzi is ready to return from the injured list as this was his third rehab outing, but the Twins don't have an immediate opening in the rotation with five healthy starters pitching well. Odorizzi could also use some extended time to build back arm strength since he's only made three starts this season. It's not clear when Odorizzi will return as a result.

Bieber (7-1) allowed three runs on five hits (two home runs) and two walks while striking out eight across seven innings but was handed his first loss of the season Friday against the Twins.

Bieber came into Friday's matchup with a 2-0 record and 1.20 ERA against the Twins this season but was not able to contain them as effectively his third time out. The right-hander allowed a two-run homer to Byron Buxton in the second before being taken yard by Ryan Jeffers in the seventh to give the Twins a 3-0 lead. Despite suffering his first loss of the season, Bieber still leads all of major league baseball with nine quality starts, 102 strikeouts and a 1.53 ERA as he has cemented himself as one of the most dominant pitchers in baseball. He'll line up to face the Tigers on the road Thursday.

Canning allowed three runs on seven hits and a walk over 5.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Rockies on Friday. He struck out five.

Canning was on the hook for the loss until Jared Walsh's game-tying homer in the eighth inning. Location considered, it was a solid effort for Canning, who has a 4.57 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 39:16 K:BB across 45.1 innings this season. The 24-year-old righty still hasn't won a game in 2020 -- he'll try to correct that Thursday versus the Diamondbacks.

Kikuchi (2-3) was charged with the loss against the Diamondbacks on Friday, giving up four runs on six hits and a walk while striking out five across six innings.

Kikuchi got off to a rocky first inning, giving up three runs including an RBI triple to Christan Walker and an RBI single to Nick Ahmed. The 29-year-old, who was coming off two straight wins, has only walked one batter across his last 17 innings and sports a 39:11 K:BB ratio to go with a 5.35 ERA and 1.19 WHIP overall this season. Kikuchi will look to bounce back in his next scheduled start Wednesday against San Francisco.

Snell (4-1) fired 5.1 scoreless innings Friday as he earned the win against the Red Sox. He allowed five hits and two walks while striking out five.

Snell was charged with his first loss of the year in his last outing, but he bounced back with a sharp performance against Boston. It was the southpaw's first scoreless appearance in nearly a month as he now carries a 3.23 ERA and 50:14 K:BB over 39 innings this season. His next start should be in Baltimore on Thursday.
