Keller allowed a run on three hits and a walk while striking out four over 6.1 innings but didn't factor in the decision Monday versus Cleveland.

Keller dueled well with Cleveland starter Shane Bieber, but the former didn't get any run support while he was on the mound. The Royals rallied for a pair of runs in the eighth to get their starter off the hook. The 25-year-old Keller has a 1.93 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 23:12 K:BB through 28 innings across five starts. He's allowed one run or fewer in four of his outings. The right-hander will look to stay strong versus the White Sox over the weekend.

Cole (4-2) took the loss Monday as the Yankees fell 5-3 to the Rays, giving up four runs on eight hits and four walks over five innings. He struck out seven.

The right-hander labored early before settling down, and Cole ended up needing 103 pitches (65 strikes) to record his 15 outs. Homers continue to plague him -- he's given up multiple long balls in each of his last three starts, and at least one home run in every start to begin 2020. Cole will carry a 3.91 ERA, but a still impressive 60:12 K:BB through 46 innings, into his next outing Saturday in Baltimore.

Glasnow (2-1) picked up the win Monday, allowing two hits and a walk over six scoreless innings in a 5-3 victory over the Yankees. He struck out nine.

The right-hander didn't give up a hit until his final inning of work, and even then Willy Adames nearly made a spectacular play in the hole to throw out DJ LeMahieu and keep the no-no alive. Glasnow tossed 55 of 87 pitches for strikes, and over his last three starts he's posted a stellar 1.93 ERA, 0.75 WHIP and 30:5 K:BB through 18.2 innings. He'll look to keep rolling in his next outing at home against the Marlins.

Lyles will follow opener Luis Garcia in Tuesday's game against the Astros, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

Lyles was originally slated to start last Thursday against Oakland, but with that game being postponed, the right-hander has not pitched since Aug. 22. He will be somewhat dependent on Garcia holding his own early in the game, but this could allow Lyles to qualify for and pick up his second win of the campaign.

Cortes (elbow) was transferred to the 45-day injured list Monday.

Cortes has been on the injured list since Aug. 15 with a left elbow impingement, and he should miss the remainder of the regular season as a result of the injury. The southpaw made five appearances (one start) for the Mariners this year, posting a 15.26 ERA and 2.35 WHIP over 7.2 innings.

Verlander (forearm) continues to throw but has yet to throw off a mound, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Verlander is making progress in his efforts to return from a forearm strain before the end of the season, though time is getting tight given that he's still yet to advance to mound work. Even if he's ready to return before the end of the regular season, it's quite likely he'll be on a limited workload.

Perez's scheduled start is expected to be bumped back to Thursday against the Blue Jays while he contends with a blister, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

The Red Sox have gone back and forth on whether or not Perez will see his next start delayed after he pitched through a blister on his left index finger Friday against the Nationals. The latest reports indicate that the southpaw will throw Thursday, though the starter for Wednesday's game against the Braves has not yet been announced.

Morton (shoulder) will return from the injured list to start Wednesday against the Yankees, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Morton has been out since early August with shoulder inflammation. He owns a poor 5.40 ERA and a 1.50 WHIP through four starts this season, though nearly all the damage was done in his poor season debut against the Blue Jays, who scored six runs off him in just four innings. It's not clear what sort of workload he'll be able to handle immediately upon his return, though he'll likely be on some sort of pitch count.

Stripling was sent from the Dodgers to the Blue Jays in exchange for a pair of players to be named later Monday.

After several seasons stuck as a swingman in Los Angeles, Stripling should have a good shot to start on a full-time basis for his new team. He'll be the third starter acquired by Toronto at the deadline, joining Taijuan Walker and Robbie Ray. Stripling's 5.61 ERA through seven starts this season is rather unimpressive, but he'd recorded an ERA below 4.00 in each of his first four seasons in the league. If he can recapture his previous form, he'll be a very useful piece for the Blue Jays, who currently hold onto the eighth and final playoff spot in the American League.

Teheran will return to the rotation to start Wednesday's game against the Padres, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Teheran was demoted to the bullpen after starting the year with four poor starts, and he didn't look a whole lot better in his lone relief appearance, giving up three runs in 4.2 innings against the Astros. With a 9.17 ERA and a 7.66 FIP on the season, expectations should probably be low for the righty against a strong Padres lineup.
