Faedo (back) was reinstated from the 7-day injured list and tossed three scoreless innings Sunday in his start for Double-A Erie.

Faedo was sidelined for approximately three weeks with the back strain, but he'll head into the offseason with his health intact after making it back on the mound for Erie's penultimate game. He wrapped up his second professional season with a 3.90 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 134:25 K:BB in 115.1 innings, all of which came at Double-A.

Carrasco (4-7) took the loss in relief Tuesday against the White Sox after giving up four runs on four hits in his lone inning of work.

Carrasco was summoned to protect a 5-2 lead in the eighth inning, seemingly signaling that manager Terry Francona views him as one of the top setup options in front of closer Brad Hand. The skipper could reconsider his usage of Carrasco in the future, however, as the right-hander has been hit hard in both of his first two outings since returning from the 60-day injured list Sunday. He's given up five runs and six hits in two innings out of the bullpen, with both James McCann and Eloy Jimenez tagging him for home runs Wednesday.

Glasnow (forearm) was in the Rays' clubhouse prior to Tuesday's doubleheader and reported feeling "really good" following Monday night's rehab appearance, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Glasnow worked up to 33 pitches in the appearance, which was a high-water mark for him since going down with his forearm strain May 10. The right-hander remains unsure whether activation or another rehab appearance with Triple-A Durham or Double-A Montgomery is his next step, but the fact his arm seemed to have tolerated the increased activity well is certainly a positive. "Really encouraged by his performance," manager Kevin Cash said. "We haven't decided yet, we're still talking through it. We were just thrilled Glas got in the two innings or whatever it was [Monday]. [He] felt good. Everybody said the stuff looked good."

Greinke (4-1) allowed four runs on eight hits while striking out four over six innings in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Brewers.

The Astros mustered little in the way of an attack against Milwaukee pitching, and Greinke was handed his first loss since being traded to the Astros. The club has now lost two straight games started by Greinke after winning the first four. The right-hander will look to get back on the winning track Monday at home against Oakland.

Clevinger allowed two earned runs on two hits and four walks while striking out nine across seven innings Tuesday against the White Sox. He did not factor into the decision.

Clevinger mowed down White Sox hitters for much of his start thanks to 18 swinging strikes across 109 total pitches. Eloy Jimenez was the only batter able to solve him, driving in both of the runs Clevinger surrendered. He has now allowed two or fewer earned runs in 10 of his 12 starts since the calendar flipped to July. For the season, he owns a 2.71 ERA and 1.04 WHIP with 132 strikeouts across 93 innings. Clevinger will look to continue the excellent results in his next start, currently scheduled for Sunday at Minnesota.

Cease allowed four earned runs on four hits and two walks while striking out 11 across 6.2 innings Tuesday against the Indians. He did not factor into the decision.

Cease dominated the Indians through six innings, punching out nine batters and allowing just two earned runs. However, he returned to the mound in the seventh frame and walked consecutive batters with two outs -- both of which ultimately came around to score. Still, he showcased his electric arsenal in the outing, generating 21 called strikes and 13 swinging strikes across 106 total pitches while also walking only two batters. Despite the encouraging outing, Cease still owns a 6.75 ERA and 1.55 WHIP across 58.2 big-league innings. He'll look to build on this positive effort in his next start, currently scheduled for Sunday against the Angels.

Paxton (12-6) recorded 12 strikeouts and allowed only one hit and one walk over seven shutout innings to earn the win Tuesday against the Rangers.

Paxton reached 12 strikeouts for the third time this season as he never allowed a runner to reach second base Tuesday. The 30-year-old has won seven consecutive decisions and has a 2.98 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 41:15 K:BB over 42.1 innings in that stretch. Paxton will look to continue the win streak Monday at Boston.

Stephens cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Columbus on Tuesday.

The 26-year-old has yet to make his big-league debut. He's struggled to a 7.09 ERA in the Indians' and White Sox' minor-league systems this season.

Snell (elbow) will throw another bullpen session Wednesday, Josh Tolentino of The Athletic reports.

Snell appears to still have time to return from late-July arthroscopic elbow surgery before the end of the season. He's thrown two bullpens already and will likely advance to either a live batting practice session or a rehab outing following Wednesday's session.

Gibson (abdomen) said Sunday that he's hopeful that he'll be cleared to pitch again in about a week, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

Gibson was surprisingly placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday when it was revealed he was dealing with ulcerative colitis, a condition that caused him to lose around 10 pounds over the past month and a half. Though Gibson had been able to pitch through the medical issue, the Twins elected to shut him down after he informed the training staff he felt little strength in his legs coming out of his start Aug. 30 in Detroit. Gibson, who has been fluctuating between 195 and 200 pounds since the All-Star break, will use his time on the IL to regain strength and move closer to his ideal weight of 212 pounds. While Gibson is sidelined, Randy Dobnak will get the first crack at replacing him in the rotation when a fifth starter is first needed Tuesday in Boston.
