Carrasco (illness) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Wednesday, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.

This move frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for Franmil Reyes, who was acquired from the Padres as part of a three-team trade Tuesday. Carrasco has been sidelined since early June with a treatable form of chronic myeloid leukemia, though he was cleared to begin ramping up his baseball activity earlier in the month.

Allard is expected to get an audition in the Rangers' rotation this season, T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com reports.

Allard was acquired from the Braves on Tuesday for reliever Chris Martin (back). He's started 39 times (222.1 innings) at Triple-A Gwinnett over the last two seasons, so an audition at the big-league level is the next step for the left-hander. "He's a young starter who already has significant experience at the upper levels," general manager Jon Daniels said. "His reputation as a competitor is well-known. We look forward to watching him compete as a Ranger." If the Rangers end up dealing Mike Minor, we could see Allard pitch for Texas as soon as next week.

Canning (4-6) earned the win against Detroit on Tuesday, pitching six shutout innings and allowing four hits and one walk while striking out seven.

Canning entered Tuesday with an ugly 12.34 ERA in July but turned things around against the lowest-scoring offense in baseball, limiting Detroit to five baserunners while completing six innings for the first time in his last five games. The rookie right-hander posted a 2.57 ERA in May but has mostly struggled since, giving up 31 earned runs in 47 innings over the last two months. He'll look to start August on a positive note when he takes on the Reds in Cincinnati on Monday.

Morton allowed four runs on seven hits with two walks and two strikeouts across 4.2 innings during a no-decision against the Red Sox on Tuesday.

Morton's last start was also against the Red Sox, and given he allowed just two runs on five hits with 11 strikeouts in that outing, it's clear Boston hitters made some adjustments. If Morton had recorded one more out, he would have been in line for the win, but instead, the Red Sox took a lead off a homer during the first at-bat against the Rays bullpen. Still, Morton is having a great season, as he is 12-3 with a 2.78 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 165 strikeouts in 136 innings. He will make his next start at home against the Blue Jays on Sunday.

Bassitt held Milwaukee scoreless over six innings Tuesday but did not factor into the decision, allowing three hits and one walk while striking out six.

Bassitt limited the Brewers to a trio of singles and a walk but was denied a victory when the Oakland bullpen failed to protect a 1-0 lead. He needed only 83 pitches to complete six innings, earning his sixth quality start of the season. The 30-year-old has been on a roll since the All-Star break, giving up six earned runs in 23 innings while compiling a 21:5 K:BB. He'll carry an overall 3.84 ERA and 1.17 WHIP into his next scheduled start against the Cubs at Wrigley Field on Monday.

Glasnow (forearm) is slated to resume a throwing program Monday, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

The right-hander still remains without a clear timetable for return, but the resumption of his throwing program would certainly be a step in the right direction. Glasnow hasn't played so much as catch since a late-June setback in his recovery, and Toribio reports that he could be a bullpen option if he is able to return at some point this season.

Odorizzi (12-5) picked up the win in Tuesday's 2-1 victory over the Marlins, allowing one run on four hits and a walk over 5.2 innings while striking out five.

After getting wrecked by the Yankees in his last outing, Odorizzi bounced back with a much stronger effort in Miami, throwing 103 pitches (68 strikes) before getting yanked one out shy of his seventh quality start of the year. The right-hander will take a 3.73 ERA and 113:37 K:BB through 108.2 innings into his next start Sunday, at home against the Royals.

Bieber (10-4) took the loss Tuesday as Cleveland fell 2-0 to the Astros, giving up two runs on nine hits and a walk over seven innings while striking out eight.

It was another strong performance from the right-hander, who's delivered quality starts in five of his last six trips to the mound, but Justin Verlander was that much better for Houston. Bieber has posted a 2.45 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 52:7 K:BB in 44 innings over that six-start stretch, and he'll look to get back in the win column Sunday, at home against the Angels.

Verlander (14-4) picked up the win Tuesday, giving up two hits over seven scoreless innings while striking out 13 in a 2-0 victory over Cleveland.

The right-hander now leads the AL in wins, tying Stephen Strasburg for the major-league lead, and Verlander has also recorded double-digit strikeouts in three straight starts. He'll carry a 2.73 ERA and 196:31 K:BB through 151.2 innings into his next outing Sunday, at home against the Mariners.

Allard posted a 2.72 ERA and 1.21 WHIP in his first taste of Triple-A last season, but he's had a more difficult time in 2019 with a 4.17 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 98:36 K:BB. The 21-year-old made his major-league debut last season and surrendered 11 runs on 19 hits over three outings, including one start.
