Athletics' Jesus Luzardo: Taking rehab to Triple-A
Luzardo will make his next rehab start at Triple-A Las Vegas, which is likely to come Saturday, Katie Woo of MiLB.com reports.
Luzardo looked strong in Sunday's outing with High-A Stockton, fanning nine over four innings, so he'll advance to Triple-A. He'll likely require at least a few more appearances prior to being activated from the injured list.

Manager Brandon Hyde confirmed Sunday that Cobb (hip) underwent successful surgery earlier in the weekend, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.
The procedure officially spells an end to Cobb's season after he made three unproductive starts for the Orioles. surrendering 15 runs over 12.1 innings in those outings. Baltimore would surely like a mulligan after signing Cobb to a four-year, $57 million contract last March with the expectation that he would serve as the staff ace. Cobb, who is expected to be back to full strength by next spring, has gone 5-17 with a 5.36 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 6.0 K/9 over 31 starts the past two seasons.

White Sox's Odrisamer Despaigne: Gives up seven runs in loss
Despaigne (0-2) gave up seven runs on nine hits and four walks while striking out five through 4.1 innings, taking the loss against the Yankees on Sunday.
After two scoreless innings, Despaigne saw the wheels come off during his performance as he was crushed for five runs in the third inning and two more before he could get out of the fifth. After a solid outing in his first start earned him a second chance in the rotation, this start may cause his spot to be in question.The 32-year-old has an 8.71 ERA through two starts. If he stays in the rotation, Despaigne is currently scheduled to pitch again Saturday against the Rangers at Globe Life Park in Arlington.

Yankees' James Paxton: Strikes out seven in win
Paxton (4-3) gave up two runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out seven through six innings, taking the win against the White Sox on Sunday.
Paxton gave up a solo home run in the first inning but settled down to secure his fourth win with a quality start. The 30-year-old continues to be dominant with 17 swinging strikes in this start and a 14 percent swinging-strike rate this season. Along with his impressive 11.6 K/9, Paxton lowered his ERA to 3.93 through 11 starts. Paxton will look to carry this momentum into his next start Friday against the Astros at Yankee Stadium.

Twins' Martin Perez: Yields five runs in loss
Perez (7-3) coughed up five runs (four earned) on six hits and a walk in 6.2 innings Sunday, striking out seven and taking the loss against the Royals.
Perez was in trouble early, allowing three runs on four hits and a walk in the second inning alone. He settled in, throwing four straight perfect frames after that before another bumpy stretch in the seventh. He's now given up at least four runs in three of his last four outings, raising his season ERA from 2.95 to 4.09 during that span. He'll look for redemption in Kansas City on Friday.

Orioles' John Means: Turns in decent outing
Means yielded two runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out two over five innings Sunday against the Red Sox. He didn't factor into the decision.
Means cruised through the first three frames of his start before giving up two runs in the fourth on four base knocks. He had to be removed after five innings due to a high pitch count (103 pitches). The 26-year-old lefty continues to throw the ball well this season, allowing three or fewer runs in each of his last eight outings. Means has posted a 2.67 ERA with 59 strikeouts across 70.2 innings this season.

Tigers' Spencer Turnbull: Handed sixth loss
Turnbull (3-6) allowed six runs on 10 hits and two walks while striking out four over five innings Sunday in a loss to the Indians.
Turnbull found trouble right from the start, surrendering a run in the first inning followed by three runs in the third and two more in the fourth. He would exit with a 6-0 deficit after hurling 92 pitches. The 26-year-old right-hander was unable to build off a quality start his last time out, but he still owns a solid 3.27 ERA with 77 strikeouts over 82.2 innings this season.

Angels' Griffin Canning: Fans seven in loss
Canning (2-3) allowed four runs on six hits and struck out seven over six innings Sunday in a loss to the Rays.
Canning yielded a run in the first inning, two in the second and a fourth run in the fifth on a solo home run to center field. He's turned in a quality start in two of his last four outings, but he wasn't able to get the job done Sunday. The right-hander owns a 3.93 ERA and 0.99 WHIP with 54 punchouts across 50.1 innings this season.

Athletics' Frankie Montas: Fans nine in ninth win
Montas (9-2) picked up the win in Saturday's 11-2 romp over the Mariners, allowing two runs on six hits and a walk over six innings while striking out nine.
The A's put up three runs in the first inning and Montas never looked back, recording his third straight quality start and 10th of the year while winning his fifth straight decision. The right-hander will carry a 2.85 ERA and 88:21 K:BB through 82 innings into his next outing Thursday, at home against the Rays.

Glasnow (forearm) engaged in a fastball-only throwing session Saturday, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.
It was the first time throwing off a mound for Glasnow since he suffered his forearm strain. The right-hander didn't overextend himself, as the catcher stood only a few feet in front of him. Glasnow will next throw a bullpen session Tuesday or Wednesday, which would represent another notable step in his recovery.
