  • Tyler Glasnow SP | LAD

Rays' Tyler Glasnow: Throwing from mound

Glasnow (forearm) will throw off a mound Saturday, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

This is a big step in his recovery from a forearm strain. The catcher will be setting up closer than usual, so it's not a full mound-to-home-plate session. If all goes well, he could throw a bullpen session Wednesday.

  • Kyle Gibson SP | BAL

Twins' Kyle Gibson: Shuts down Royals for seventh win

Gibson (7-3) struck out six and picked up the win Friday, scattering two hits over eight scoreless innings in a 2-0 victory over the Royals.

The only two times Kansas City managed to get runners on base, the righty squelched the threat by getting a double play. He seemed headed for his first career shutout, but despite Gibson having thrown only 88 pitches (55 strikes), manager Rocco Baldelli elected to turn to Taylor Rogers in the ninth inning. Gibson will take a 3.70 ERA and 77:17 K:BB through 75.1 innings into his next start Wednesday, at home against the Red Sox.

  • Brad Keller RP | PHI

Royals' Brad Keller: Hurls quality start in no-decision

Keller didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 2-0 loss to the Twins, giving up three hits and three walks over seven scoreless innings while striking out five.

The right-hander put together his best outing of the season despite living on the edges of the strike zone, throwing only 56 of 97 pitches for strikes while producing plenty of weak contact. Keller will carry a 3.97 ERA and 63:46 K:BB through 93 innings into his next start Wednesday in Seattle.

  • White Sox's Lucas Giolito: Cruises to ninth straight win

Giolito (10-1) struck out six and picked up the win Friday in a 10-2 victory over the Yankees, allowing one run on four hits and four walks over six innings.

The right-hander has won eight straight starts and nine straight decisions, and Giolito hasn't given up more than three runs in a start since April 6. He'll carry a 2.22 ERA and 95:26 K:BB through 81 innings into his next outing Wednesday, on the road against the Cubs.

  • Gerrit Cole SP | NYY

Astros' Gerrit Cole: Breezes to sixth win

Cole (6-5) struck out 10 and picked up the win in Friday's 15-2 rout of the Blue Jays, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks over six innings.

The offense put this one away early, scoring at least two runs in each of the first four innings, but Cole never gave Toronto a chance to mount any kind of comeback. The right-hander has reeled off four straight quality starts, fanning double-digit batters in three of them, and he'll take a 3.67 ERA and stunning 140:22 K:BB through 90.2 innings into his next outing Wednesday in Cincinnati.

  • Drew Smyly SP | CHC

Rangers' Drew Smyly: Notches three-inning save

Smyly gave up a run on three hits and a walk while striking out five over three innings of relief to record his first save of the season in Friday's 7-1 win over the Reds.

Other than a Nick Senzel solo shot, Smyly was sharp in this one, throwing 32 of 53 pitches for strikes en route to his first save since 2013. The left-hander is still digging himself out of a brutal ratio hole, but a few more strong appearances could put him back into consideration for a rotation spot despite his current 8.06 ERA, 1.88 WHIP and 49:32 K:BB through 48 innings.

  • Marco Gonzales RP | TEX

Mariners' Marco Gonzales: Fans seven in win

Gonzales (7-6) lasted seven innings to earn the win against the A's on Friday, allowing two runs (one earned) on seven hits and two walks while striking out three.

Gonzales completed seven innings or more for the fifth time this season to picked up his second win against Oakland. It wasn't a dominant outing by any means, but the southpaw effectively prevented Oakland's seven hits from turning into more than a pair of runs while only handing out two free passes. The 27-year-old will carry 4.50 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 62:27 K:BB into a matchup Wednesday against Kansas City.

  • Chris Bassitt SP | BAL

Athletics' Chris Bassitt: Charged with loss

Bassitt (3-3) took the loss Friday against the Mariners after allowing four runs (three earned) on five hits and four walks while striking out four through 5.2 innings.

Bassitt started the fourth inning with a four-pitch walk and it all went downhill from there. He allowed three consecutive hits including a two-run double to J.P. Crawford and a sacrifice fly to Dee Gordon to tack on a pair of runs and give the Mariners the lead for good. With the loss, the right-hander falls to 0-3 against the Mariners in six appearances (five starts) this season. Bassitt will carry a 3.68 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 57:24 K:BB into a Wednesday showdown against Baltimore.

  • Andrew Heaney RP | LAD

Angels' Andrew Heaney: Settles for no-decision

Heaney allowed one run on two hits with two strikeouts and three walks across five innings during a no-decision against the Rays on Friday.

The 28-year-old had his best outing of the season, but the Angels bullpen spoiled it, allowing eight runs in the final four frames. While he's still looking for his first win, Heaney has really only had one bad start, and he usually racks up plenty of strikeouts for his owners. In four starts, he is 0-1 with a 4.57 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 30 strikeouts in 21.2 innings this season. His next outing is scheduled to be at the Blue Jays on Wednesday.

  • Blake Snell SP | LAD

Rays' Blake Snell: Yields four runs

Snell allowed four runs (three earned) on five hits with three strikeouts and four walks across 3.1 innings during a no-decision against the Angels on Friday.

This was Snell's shortest outing since May 1, but he was able to avoid the loss because the Rays offense scored eight runs against the Angels bullpen. Snell has been a little hot and cold lately, yielding just one run in three of his last seven starts, but in two others, he allowed more than three runs in under five frames. Overall, Snell is 4-5 with a 3.70 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 101 strikeouts in 75.1 innings. He is scheduled to pitch next at the Yankees on Wednesday.
