Tommy Milone SP | SEA
Mariners' Tommy Milone: To follow opener again
Milone will follow an opener Wednesday against the Twins, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
Milone has a 3.10 ERA and 1.08 WHIP in 20.1 innings this season. He pitched well following an opener Thursday against the Astros, allowing just one run over 5.1 innings.

Marco Gonzales RP | TEX
Mariners' Marco Gonzales: Start pushed back
Gonzales will start Friday against Oakland instead of Thursday against Minnesota as originally scheduled, Shannon Drayer of 710 ESPN Seattle reports.
The reason for the switch is not immediately clear. Gonzales will face an easier opponent in a more pitcher-friendly park this week but will lose out on a shot at a two-start week next week. Yusei Kikuchi will start Thursday.

Corey Kluber SP | BOS
Indians' Corey Kluber: Evaluation coming Thursday
Kluber (forearm) will be re-evaluated Thursday, Ryan Lewis of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Kluber went down with a broken right forearm at the beginning of May. His return timeline should become clearer following Thursday's evaluation, which will come exactly two weeks after his cast was removed, right on schedule with the timetable given at that time.

Tyler Glasnow SP | LAD
Rays' Tyler Glasnow: Throws from 90 feet
Glasnow threw from 90 feet Tuesday for the first time since straining his forearm, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.
Glasnow keeps making steady progress in his recovery, though his placement on the 60-day injured list means he can't return until after the All-Star break. He's hoping to throw off a mound in about a week.

Alex Cobb SP | DET
Orioles' Alex Cobb: Requires season-ending surgery
Cobb will undergo season-ending surgery to address a hip impingement, Joe Trezza of MLB.com reports.
Cobb made just three starts before landing on the injured list with a back injury. It's unclear when the hip issue occurred. He'll finish the season with a 10.95 ERA in just 12.1 innings of work.

Drew Smyly SP | CHC
Rangers' Drew Smyly: Could land on IL
General manager Jon Daniels acknowledged Monday that Smyly could be a candidate for the 10-day injured list while the southpaw continues to deal with lingering effects of a sprained ankle that first surfaced in mid-May, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports. "[The ankle] has been a bit of a limiting factor for him," Daniels said. "He hasn't been able to fully push off all the time...We don't have a lot of options. There's not a ton of pitching readily available."
A trip to the IL would provide convenient cover for the fact that Smyly's rotation spot is clearly on thin ice while he maintains an 8.40 ERA and 1.91 WHIP across 45 innings for the season. The Rangers plan to speak with Smyly before determining his next step, but if he isn't placed on the IL, there's a real chance that he gets sent to the bullpen. Joe Palumbo, who made a spot start for a doubleheader over the weekend, would likely rank as the top alternative to join the rotation Friday in Cincinnati. The next-best alternative would likely be Triple-A Nashville starter Seth Maness, though he would need to be added to the 40-man roster in such a scenario.

Dylan Cease SP | TOR
White Sox's Dylan Cease: MLB debut could come soon
General manager Rick Hahn said Monday that the White Sox won't "rush" Cease to the big leagues, but noted the right-hander is "not too far away" from receiving a promotion from Triple-A Charlotte, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Service-time concerns are probably the main reason why Cease has yet to make his MLB debut, as the White Sox have already lost a key rotation piece in Carlos Rodon (elbow) for the season and own the sixth-worst starters' ERA (5.36 ERA) in baseball, despite Lucas Giolito's emergence as a bona fide ace. Cease has stumbled a bit over his last few turns at Triple-A, but his 4.10 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 59:22 K:BB in 52.2 innings are still largely impressive after factoring in the enhanced power environment in the International League this season. Before giving Cease a long-awaited promotion, the White Sox may want to see him bounce back from his worst outing of the season Sunday, when he failed to escape the first inning while yielding two hits and three walks.

Grayson Rodriguez SP | LAA
Orioles' Grayson Rodriguez: Bounces back from rough outing
Rodriguez blanked Low-A West Virginia over four innings in his start Monday for Delmarva. He struck out six and scattered three walks, one hit and two hit batsmen.
Rodriguez wasn't especially efficient in the outing -- he needed 93 pitches to record 12 outs -- but his performance was encouraging nonetheless after he was blasted for a season-high seven runs in his previous turn June 4. Even with that rough start factored in, Rodriguez sports a 2.42 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and .177 opponent batting average across 52 innings this season. The 19-year-old has thus far justified the Orioles' decision to select him in the first round of the 2018 first-year player draft.

Griffin Canning RP | SD
Angels' Griffin Canning: Quality start against Dodgers
Canning threw six innings in a no-decision against the Dodgers on Monday, giving up three earned runs on five hits, striking out five and walking none in a 5-3 victory for the Angels.
Canning tossed a quality start for the third time in his last five outings, but would have to settle for a no-decision after exiting with the Angels down 3-1. The rookie has been impressive overall this season after a rough start, as he's sporting a solid 3.65 ERA, a 0.99 WHIP and a 47:10 K:BB through 44.1 innings. He lines up to take on the Rays next on the road on Sunday.

Odrisamer Despaigne SP | MIA
White Sox's Odrisamer Despaigne: Quality start in loss
Despaigne (0-1) took the loss against the Nationals on Monday, giving up three earned runs on seven hits over six innings, striking out two and walking two as the White Sox fell 12-1.
Making his first start of the season after getting called up from Triple-A Charlotte, Despaigne turned in a quality start, but wound up taking the loss as he received just one run of support and his bullpen was shelled for nine earned runs. He could stay in the rotation for the moment, but Despaigne's 4.94 ERA over 349.2 career big-league innings makes it doubtful he'll become a consistent fantasy contributor.
