  • Dallas Keuchel SP | MIL

Astros' Dallas Keuchel: Escapes with no-decision Wednesday

Keuchel didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 7-6 win over the Blue Jays, coughing up six runs on seven hits and three walks over 5.1 innings while striking out three.

The Jays tagged him for five runs in the top of the first inning, but the left-hander settled down after that and was finally taken off the hook for his ninth loss of the year by Alex Bregman's walkoff homer. Keuchel has now given up at least six runs three times in his last five starts but zero earned runs in the other two, making him a very volatile fantasy play right now, and he'll carry a 4.22 ERA into his next outing Tuesday on the road against the Rangers.

  • Deck McGuire SP | TOR

Angels' Deck McGuire: Tabbed as Sunday's starter

McGuire will start Sunday's game in Baltimore, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

John Lamb was placed on the disabled list with shoulder and elbow inflammation, so McGuire, who was recalled from Triple-A last week, will get the spot start. He logged four innings, giving up three earned runs and striking out one, in his last appearance on Tuesday after Lamb left with the injury. McGuire only threw 55 pitches in that appearance, but he was up to 92 pitches in a Triple-A start June 7, so it's possible he goes deep enough to qualify for the win. The 29-year-old journeyman has a 4.33 ERA and 5.58 xFIP in 27 MLB innings, so expectations should be tempered. The Angels currently have seven MLB starting pitchers on the disabled list, so it's possible McGuire can stick in the rotation if he turns in even a middling performance.

  • Indians' Carlos Carrasco: Rehab start on tap Saturday

Carrasco (right elbow contusion) will make a rehab start for Double-A Akron on Saturday, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.

He threw another successful mound session Wednesday, and Cleveland decided the next step would be a rehab assignment. Considering he has only been on the shelf for 10 days, he will likely only need one rehab start if everything goes smoothly. This means he could return July 6 at home against the A's.

  • Twins' Adalberto Mejia: Primed to start against Cubs on Saturday

Mejia will be called up from Triple-A Rochester to start Saturday's game versus the Cubs, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Mejia is set to make his first appearance in the big leagues this season after starting 21 games for the Twins in 2017. Over those contests, he logged a 4.50 ERA and 1.57 WHIP with an 85:44 K:BB across 98 innings. During 11 games with Rochester this year, he's accumulated a 2.74 ERA and has been impressive in the month of June, posting a 1.41 ERA and 0.84 WHIP over five starts.

  • Dane Dunning SP | SEA

White Sox's Dane Dunning: Diagnosed with elbow sprain

Dunning suffered a moderate elbow sprain during Saturday's start with Double-A Birmingham and will be placed on the minor-league disabled list.

The good news is that Dunning will not require a surgical procedure, but he will be shut for 6-to-8 weeks while undergoing a program consisting of rest and rehab. Following that timeline, he will begin a throwing program, so it's unlikely that the prospect will be back in action with Birmingham this season since the Rumble Ponies conclude their regular season Sept. 3 and the organization won't want to rush him back into action.

  • Chris Bassitt SP | BAL

Athletics' Chris Bassitt: Recalled from Nashville

Bassitt was called up from Triple-A Nashville ahead of his start against Detroit on Wednesday.

As expected, Bassitt will join Oakland to make his fourth start of the season at the major-league level. Across his previous three starts, he's logged a 3.86 ERA and 13:3 K:BB in 16.1 innings, which includes a rough showing in Chicago versus the White Sox on June 22. In a corresponding move, the Athletics placed Daniel Mengden on the DL with a sprained right foot.

  • Felix Jorge SP | MIN

Twins' Felix Jorge: Starts rehab assignment

Jorge (triceps) has thrown three scoreless innings with two strikeouts for Minnesota's team in the Gulf Coast League.

Jorge began the year on the disabled list at Double-A Chattanooga due to triceps soreness. It looks like he could be activated from the DL and join Double-A again soon.

  • Michael Kopech SP | LAD

White Sox's Michael Kopech: Takes no-decision Monday

Kopech allowed four hits and walked two while striking out nine over six scoreless innings for Triple-A Charlotte on Monday.

There were several encouraging signs in Monday's outing. Kopech threw strikes on 66.3 percent of his pitches (63-of-95), the highest percentage of strikes thrown in seven starts. His two free passes were a five-start low, and he went six innings for just the seventh time in 15 starts. The problem for Kopech has been putting together a sustained stretch of good outings. He entered Monday having walked 21 over his last four starts, spanning 16 innings, so the wildness could return his next time out. The White Sox are waiting to see a sustained stretch without any hiccups before they consider promoting him to Chicago. Despite the inconsistency, White Sox director of player development Chris Getz remains confident. "Listen, he's going to find his way to the big leagues," Getz told Scot Gregor of the DeKalb Daily Chronicle. "He's going to be an impact frontline-type starter. I'm very confident in that. Just like a lot of great players, sometimes it's a meandering path. And to say that he's gone off track is not fair, because it's only been a couple of outings. I think he's in a really good spot."

  • Lance Lynn SP | STL

Twins' Lance Lynn: Takes sixth loss

Lynn (5-6) was tagged with the loss Tuesday, allowing five runs (four earned) on eight hits and a walk while striking out eight over five innings against the White Sox.

Lynn took the hill to begin the bottom of the sixth inning with a 4-2 lead, but he left with the bases loaded after yielding singles to all three batters he faced, and the bullpen allowed all three to come around to score. The 31-year-old has settled in after a brutal start to the season, as Tuesday was the first time he's allowed more than three earned runs in his last eight starts and he's seen his ERA drop over two and a half runs in the process. He'll take a 4.81 ERA and 9.3 K/9 into Sunday's interleague tilt against the Cubs.

  • Corey Kluber SP | BOS

Indians' Corey Kluber: Knocked around in loss

Kluber (11-4) took the loss Tuesday, allowing six runs on six hits and a walk while striking out two over 1.2 innings against the Cardinals.

After waiting through a nearly two-hour rain delay prior to the first pitch, Kluber was out of rhythm from the get-go. He allowed a pair of home runs and set season lows by a wide margin in both innings and strikeouts. Even with the clunker Tuesday, Kluber owns terrific ratios with a 2.54 ERA and 0.86 WHIP to go along with 9.2 K/9. He'll look to bounce back next time out Monday in Kansas City.
