Jason Hammel SP | TEX
Royals' Jason Hammel: White Sox-Royals postponed Sunday
Hammel's scheduled start for Sunday against the White Sox was postponed due to inclement weather, Joel Goldberg of FOX Sports Kansas City reports.
The two teams will make up the contest as part of a day-night doubleheader April 28. The Royals haven't announced how the postponement will affect their rotation plans, but it's likely that Hammel will simply be pushed back a day and make his first start of the season Monday against the Tigers.

Lance McCullers SP | MIL
Astros' Lance McCullers: Shakes off comebacker
McCullers was hit on the ankle by a comebacker Saturday but stayed in the game, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
McCullers went down with two outs in the fourth inning but shook off the incident and went on to strike out the side in the fifth before tiring in the sixth. That he came back and pitched effectively is a good sign, but the real indicator of health comes Sunday when he shows up at the ballpark. The right-hander said he was lucky in that the ball hit the muscle part in between the shin and ankle. At this point, his next scheduled start, April 6 at home against the Padres, is not in jeopardy.

Lance McCullers SP | MIL
Astros' Lance McCullers: Strikes out 10
McCullers struck out 10 and earned the win Saturday against the Rangers, allowing two earned runs on four hits and one walk over 5.1 innings.
McCullers' season debut was highlighted by the control he showed as he found the strike zone on 61 of his 90 pitches and began 14 of the 21 batters he faced with a strike. A steady diet of his elite curveball baffled the Rangers, who reached base just three times over the first two trips through the order. Not every start will be as smooth for him, as he was anchored to a lead early in the game, so it remains to be seen if he can continue to show that type of control as the season goes on. However, it was a great first start for McCullers, and most importantly he showed plenty of his excellent swing-and-miss stuff.

Lucas Giolito SP | SD
White Sox's Lucas Giolito: Tosses quality start in no-decision
Giolito struck out one and gave up three runs on four hits and four walks over six innings but didn't factor into the decision in the White Sox's 4-3 win over the Royals on Saturday.
The White Sox rallied with three runs in the eighth to propel themselves to a win after Giolito was removed. The right-hander's punchout total didn't wow his fantasy owners, but he showed flashes of promise despite logging just 49 strikes in 89 pitches. He'll look to put up better numbers in his next scheduled turn Thursday against the Tigers, who present another friendly matchup.

James Paxton SP | BOS
Mariners' James Paxton: Surrenders six earned runs
Paxton completed 4.2 innings and took the loss Saturday against the Indians, allowing six earned runs on six hits and four walks while striking out four.
Paxton will want to forget just about everything that happened in this start as he was burned by the long ball and struggled with his command. Yonder Alonso delivered the big blow with a first-inning grand slam, but Paxton never looked comfortable on the mound. He consistently fell behind batters -- he started only 10 of the 24 batters he faced with a strike -- and generated just nine swinging strikes on 104 pitches. Paxton will look to put this start behind him at his next scheduled start Thursday against the Twins.

Carlos Carrasco RP | ATL
Indians' Carlos Carrasco: Roughed up in first outing
Carrasco earned the win Saturday against the Mariners, allowing five earned runs on seven hits and no walks while striking out four over 5.2 innings.
Carrasco didn't have his best stuff Saturday, as he allowed two home runs and generated just nine swinging strikes. He did get the win thanks to plenty of run support, giving some consolation for the rest of his line. While not an ideal start to the season, there is no reason to panic over the start as Carrasco had seven outings in 2017 in which he allowed five or more earned runs, yet he still finished the season with a 3.29 ERA.

Kyle Gibson SP | BAL
Twins' Kyle Gibson: Fires six hitless frames
Gibson (1-0) threw six hitless innings Saturday in Minnesota's 6-2 victory over the Orioles. He walked five and struck out six.
Ryan Pressly grabbed the baton in the seventh and held the combined no-no through 7 2/3 innings before a Jonathan Schoop single broke it up. Despite throwing 102 pitches and logging only 56 strikes, Gibson danced around trouble -- and had a bit of help from a fantastic catch by Eddie Rosario -- to minimize damage as he reminded fantasy players of his brilliant second half last season (3.76 ERA, 8.2 K/9, 2.6 BB/9 across 76.2 innings) that sprung from some adjustments to his approach. With this gem piled on top of his strong spring training work, which included a 3.55 ERA with nine strikeouts and one walk in four starts, Gibson likely will pique the interest of many fantasy waiver-wire miners for this weekend's moves. Despite his rough past (4.70 career ERA), he may have brighter days ahead, even if walks continue to hold him back a bit. He'll look to carry this momentum into his next scheduled assignment Thursday against the Mariners.

Alex Cobb SP | DET
Orioles' Alex Cobb: Won't debut until April 14
Cobb will not make his debut until April 14 against the Red Sox, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
Cobb, who signed with the Orioles on March 20, continues to build up his arm strength as he readies for his season debut. He recently completed a three-inning simulated game, but Baltimore wants him to pitch five or six innings in a minor-league game before joining the big club, so his first start for his new team will now come a week later than initially anticipated.

Dylan Bundy SP | NYM
Orioles' Dylan Bundy: Next start pushed back
Bundy is scheduled to pitch Wednesday against the Astros, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
The Orioles will be conscious with Bundy's workload to open the season after the 25-year-old saw a 60-inning spike from 2016 to 2017. He tossed seven scoreless innings on Opening Day and only needed 88 pitches to do so, but the Orioles will give him an extra day of rest before his second start in an attempt to keep him fresh early on. With Bundy's start being pushed back by a day, he's no longer scheduled to make two starts next week.

Andrew Heaney RP | LAD
Angels' Andrew Heaney: Throwing minor-league game Sunday
Manager Mike Scioscia said Heaney (elbow) will throw 70-75 pitches in a minor-league game Sunday, Jeff Miller of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Heaney remains on schedule as he continues to work his way back from elbow inflammation that sidelined him towards the end of camp. If everything goes off without a hitch Sunday, Heaney could make one more rehab appearance before potentially rejoining the Angels on April 11, when the team first needs a sixth starter in its rotation.
