Jake Odorizzi SP | TB
Rays' Jake Odorizzi: Stifles Twins for eighth win of season
Odorizzi (8-7) tossed 6.2 scoreless innings to earn the win Tuesday against the Twins, allowing one hit and one walk with six strikeouts.
Odorizzi was terrific in this one and took a no-hitter into the seventh inning, only to see it ruined by an infield single with one out. The right-hander struck out the next man he faced but was then lifted somewhat prematurely, with just 90 pitches under his belt. This stellar outing came at the right time for Odorizzi, who had allowed 13 runs across 12.1 innings over his last three starts. He will look to build on this performance Sunday against the Red Sox.

Vicente Campos SP | PIT
Angels' Vicente Campos: DFA'd Tuesday
Campos was designated for assignment Tuesday.
The Angels activated Garrett Richards from the 60-day DL and selected the contract of Deolis Guerra on Tuesday, so Campos was chosen as the roster casualty. The 25-year-old underwent minor elbow surgery in July but has been able to make five relief appearances with Triple-A Salt Lake over the past several weeks.

Paul Blackburn RP | NYY
Athletics' Paul Blackburn: Transferred to 60-day DL
Blackburn (wrist) was transferred to the 60-day DL on Tuesday.
Blackburn was expected to miss the remainder of the season after being hit by a comebacker late last month, and this move makes it official. The right-hander turned in a 3.22 ERA over 58.2 innings for Oakland this season, but the peripherals suggest he overachieved to a large extent (2.5 percent K-BB%). Regardless, Blackburn figures to get a chance to compete for a roster spot in spring training.

Dylan Cease SP | TOR
White Sox's Dylan Cease: Shut down with shoulder fatigue
Cease was scratched from his playoff start for Low-A Kannapolis on Tuesday due to shoulder fatigue, Colleen Kane of the Chicago Tribune reports.
This move is supposedly just a precaution, and Cease is expected to participate in the instructional league. If he can indeed report to camp next year without any arm injuries, then 2017 will be seen as a huge success for the hard-throwing righty, who was the second returning prospect in the trade that sent Jose Quintana to the Cubs. Cease has a 3.28 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 126 strikeouts in 93.1 innings across the two Low-A affiliates. Sadly, those 93.1 innings easily establish a new season high for the 21-year-old.

Artie Lewicki SP | ARI
Tigers' Artie Lewicki: Takes loss in MLB debut
Lewicki (0-1) landed in the loss column after allowing five runs on 11 hits and a walk across five innings Monday against the Royals. He struck out one batter.
Lewicki was knocked around in his MLB debut, allowing multiple hits in every inning except for his final frame. The lackluster performance left a lot to be desired, but with Jordan Zimmerman (neck) and Michael Fulmer (elbow) sidelined, Lewicki will remain in the rotation for the time being. If he stays on turn, he'll make his next start Sunday against the Blue Jays. While Toronto is a more favorable matchup for the rookie, it's probably wise to leave him on waivers while he works to find his footing in the majors.

Dane Dunning SP | SEA
White Sox's Dane Dunning: Closes out successful season
Dunning allowed one hit while striking out nine in a seven-inning shutout for High-A Winston-Salem in his final start of the season Sunday.
Dunning retired the final 13 batters faced and brought his strikeout total to 168, 11th in the minor leagues. The 22-year-old right-hander made quick work of the Low-A South Atlantic League while pitching for Kannapolis, earning a promotion to High-A just four starts into the season. The advanced level was a bit more challenging, but Dunning finished 6-8 with a 3.51 ERA and 135 strikeouts over 118 innings after his promotion.

Dylan Bundy SP | NYM
Orioles' Dylan Bundy: Tagged for five runs Monday
Bundy (13-9) took the loss after allowing five runs on five hits and four walks over four innings Monday against the Yankees. He struck out five batters.
It was a rare second-half slip-up for Bundy, who earned his first loss in eight starts since the All-Star break. Prior to Monday's outing, Bundy had compiled five consecutive quality starts, posting a 2.00 ERA and 45:6 K:BB across 36 innings over that stretch. He'll look to get back on track in his next scheduled start, which is lined up for Monday against the Blue Jays.

Jordan Montgomery RP | TEX
Yankees' Jordan Montgomery: Limited to 4.1 innings Monday
Montgomery allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits and one walk while striking out four through 4.2 innings Monday against the Orioles. He didn't factor into the decision.
Montgomery settled in after conceding a pair of early homers, and he was even able to leave Monday's spot start with the lead thanks to an offensive boost. He likely could have completed the fifth frame and been in line for the victory, but a two-out walk prompted manager Joe Girardi to yank Montgomery after just 67 pitches as the Yankees continue to limit his workload. The 29-year-old has now failed to pitch into the sixth inning in six consecutive outings. It's unclear if he'll make another start down the stretch, but if he does, his value will be affected by his limited pitch count.

Jose Berrios SP | TOR
Twins' Jose Berrios: Takes seventh loss after giving up five runs
Berrios (12-7) allowed five runs on seven hits and a walk despite seven strikeouts over five innings and took the loss Monday against Tampa Bay.
Berrios's inconsistency remains maddening. Over his past six starts, he's allowed five, zero, five, zero, six and now five runs. Berrios has also struck out a ridiculous 34 batters over 24.1 innings in his past four starts. At his best, Berrios might be one of the best pitchers in the majors, but unfortunately, he hasn't fully harnessed it yet.

Alex Cobb SP | DET
Rays' Alex Cobb: Nabs 10th win against Twins
Cobb (10-9) held the Twins to one run on three hits and two walks while striking out seven over 5.2 innings to earn the win Monday night.
Cobb has held opponents to one run or fewer in five of his past eight starts, all since the All-Star break, but he's gone just 3-3 in that stretch. His control has been his best asset of late, as Cobb has walked just 10 batters in those starts against 38 strikeouts over 47.2 innings. Monday's effort brought his ERA down to 3.64.
