Kevin Gausman SP | CHC
Orioles' Kevin Gausman: Taken deep three times in Sunday's loss
Gausman (1-2) was crushed over 5.1 innings, allowing five runs on eight hits (including three home runs) and three walks while striking out four in Sunday's loss to Boston.
The righty has had a rocky April, and Sunday was no different. Coming off one of the worst outings of his career -- an eight-out appearance Tuesday in which he allowed eight earned runs to the Reds -- Gausman surrendered four runs in the first inning before capturing his first out. The 26-year-old did settle down after that, pitching three scoreless frames before Mitch Moreland went deep in the fifth. Gausman has just one quality start in his first five games, and he owns a displeasing 6.4 K/9 and 5.6 BB/9 through 24 innings. He'll have to take on April once more when he starts versus the Yankees on Saturday.

Jason Hammel SP | TEX
Royals' Jason Hammel: Lasts just three innings Sunday
Hammel (0-2) lasted just three innings, allowing three runs on four hits and three walks while striking out five Rangers in Sunday's loss.
The right-hander delivered a terrible start at an inopportune time. With the Royals' bullpen already taxed from a 13-inning affair earlier in the series, Hammel delivered the shortest outing by any of their starters so far this season. Through four starts with his new team, the 34-year-old owns an unsightly 5.30 ERA and 1.77 WHIP with a career-worst 4.82 BB/9. Hammel will look to right the ship when he takes the hill for his next start Saturday versus Minnesota.

Eduardo Rodriguez SP | ARI
Red Sox's Eduardo Rodriguez: Twirls six shutout innings
Rodriguez (1-1) allowed one hit and five walks while striking out seven over six shutout innings in Sunday's 6-2 win over Baltimore.
The left-hander benefited from a four-run explosion of offense in the first inning when Boston's power bats woke up. Rodriguez took it from there, retiring the first nine Orioles he faced while not allowing a hit until the fifth. He tired in the sixth, walking the bases the loaded before getting out of it unscathed. After a couple of middling starts to open the season, this was the best Rodriguez has looked. He's next scheduled to pitch Saturday at home against the Cubs.

Kyle Gibson SP | BAL
Twins' Kyle Gibson: Struggles again Sunday
Gibson gave up seven runs (six earned) on a home run and eight hits over 2.2 innings in Sunday's loss to Detroit. He fell to 0-3 this season with a 9.00 ERA.
Gibson has been terrible in four starts with five home runs allowed and just a 12:7 K:BB ratio in 17 innings. Gibson will likely remain in the rotation for awhile longer even if he struggles, but his spot in the rotation my not be as secure as in prior years with a new front office regime.

Joe Musgrove SP | SD
Astros' Joe Musgrove: Surrenders four runs to Rays
Musgrove allowed four runs on five hits and a walk while striking out four batters over six innings during Saturday's win over Tampa Bay.
Musgrove didn't factor into the decision, but the shaky outing has his ERA up to 5.91 with nine runs allowed through 11 innings over his past two starts. The 24-year-old righty is working on a mechanics tweak, which probably isn't promising for his immediate future. However, the Athletics don't project as a particularly difficult matchup for his next start.

Ricky Nolasco SP | ARI
Angels' Ricky Nolasco: Next start pushed from Monday to Thursday
Nolasco will make his next start Thursday against the Athletics.
Nolasco was initially slated to take the ball Monday against the Blue Jays in a series finale, but manager Mike Scioscia opted to push the veteran back a few days while he "works through some mechanical issues," according to Pedro Moura of the Los Angeles Times. While the Angels' decision to delay Nolasco's next turn will probably help his chances of turning in improved performances after serving up seven homers in his first four starts of the campaign, the right-hander now misses out on a two-start week.

Sonny Gray SP | BOS
Athletics' Sonny Gray: Next rehab start on tap Thursday
Gray (back) will make his next rehab start with Triple-A Nashville on Thursday, Joe Stiglich of CSN California reports.
Gray most recently threw for High-A Stockton on Saturday, covering five innings in an efficient 47 pitches while striking out six and facing just one batter over the minimum. He'll be bumped up to 75 pitches Thursday, and if all goes well, he could make his next start in an Athletics uniform. Jesse Hahn seems most at risk of losing his spot in the rotation once Gray is activated from the disabled list.

Carlos Rodon SP | NYY
White Sox's Carlos Rodon: Having biceps examined
Rodon will have his biceps evaluated again in the coming days, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
It was last reported that Rodon hadn't resumed throwing from a mound, so it's likely that his return is still a ways off. Following his examination, a clearer timetable for his return should become available.

Frankie Montas RP | NYM
Athletics' Frankie Montas: First hold of season Saturday
Montas earned his first hold of the season in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Mariners, firing a scoreless seventh inning and recording a strikeout.
The young right-hander needed a scant eight pitches, five of which he threw for strikes, to dispose of Mike Zunino, Jarrod Dyson and Mitch Haniger. Montas exacted some revenge on a Seattle squad that had touched him up for two earned runs just two nights earlier in the opening game of the series, and he now has a 9:3 K:BB over 10.2 innings across seven appearances.

Chris Bassitt SP | BAL
Athletics' Chris Bassitt: Transferred to 60-day DL
Bassitt (elbow) was transferred to the 60-day disabled list Sunday.
The Athletics acquired Ryan LaMarre from the Angels on Sunday morning and have elected to transfer Bassitt to the 60-day DL in order to open up a spot on the 40-man roster. Bassitt is continuing to work back from Tommy John surgery with his sights set on returning this summer.
