  • Alex Cobb SP | DET

Rays' Alex Cobb: Scheduled for Thursday rehab start

Cobb (elbow) will make his next rehab start for High-A Charlotte on Thursday, Roger Mooney of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The 28-year-old will try to build in his successful return to game action last Friday, when he fired a pair of scoreless frames. Cobb reported feeling both strong and mechanically sound following the outing, which came after a seven-day layoff from live action to work on the finer points of his delivery. He remains without an exact timetable for a possible ascension to the big league club, but another positive outing will certainly be a step in the right direction.

  • Dylan Bundy SP | NYM

Orioles' Dylan Bundy: Shuts down Rangers in brilliant outing

Bundy (4-3) limited the Rangers to just one hit and one walk while fanning seven over seven scoreless innings in Tuesday's win.

Bundy didn't buckle late one start after after being perfect through five but allowing three runs in the sixth. The former reliever was only allowed to throw 88 pitches despite his brilliance, and still hasn't crossed the 90-pitch threshold this season. His recent form has allowed the 23-year-old to dominate despite the pitch count restrictions, and Sunday's road matchup with a lower-tier White Sox lineup should allow him to continue doing so.

  • Yu Darvish SP | SD

Rangers' Yu Darvish: Fans nine Orioles in road loss Tuesday

Darvish (2-3) allowed three runs on six hits over 6.1 innings Tuesday in Baltimore, ending up with a loss despite an impressive nine strikeouts with only one walk.

While he hasn't been rewarded with wins, Darvish does sport a sparkling 26:2 K:BB over his last three starts. The Japanese pitcher also continues to go deeper and deeper into games in his return from Tommy John surgery, with this outing marking the first time he has pitched into the seventh inning this season. He's bound to start getting in the win column soon enough pitching for a competitive Rangers team, and his next chance to do so will come Sunday in Houston.

  • Indians' Carlos Carrasco: Has night to forget against Twins

Carrasco was destroyed in Tuesday's loss to the Twins. He lasted just 3.2 innings, allowing eight runs, nine hits and two walks while striking out a season-low one hitter.

Carrasco's stellar 2.45 ERA entering the game was inflated to 3.12 with Tuesday's poor performance. After a stretch of five wins in six starts, the 29-year-old righty has lost two straight. In his last couple of outings, Carrasco has allowed 11 runs on 12 hits in 9.2 innings. His rebound attempt will come at Yankee Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

  • Wade Miley SP | CIN

Orioles' Wade Miley: To debut for O's on Thursday

Miley will make his debut for the Orioles on Thursday against the Rangers, the Baltimore Sun's Eduardo Encina reports.

He was either going to start Thursday or Friday, and the Orioles will opt to give him the ball on normal rest against a loaded Rangers lineup. Seattle gets a little oversold as a pitcher's park, but it's undoubtedly a better place to pitch than Baltimore. Of course, he had a 4.46 ERA pitching with the Red Sox last year, which is a step up from his 4.98 ERA this season with Seattle prior to Sunday's trade. He should be owned in AL-only leagues, but in most mixers he is a spot-start candidate only.

  • Kyle Gibson SP | BAL

Twins' Kyle Gibson: Gets speared by Indians in no-decision Tuesday

Gibson (3-6) was hammered for six runs on ten hits and one walk while striking out two Indians over 4.2 innings Tuesday, but luckily escaped with a no-decision. He didn't give up a run until falling apart in the fifth inning.

Tuesday marked Gibson's shortest outing since April 22 and hiked his ERA up to 4.94 on the season. The right-hander entered the game coming off his best month of the season in which he posted a 3.69 ERA over five starts. Gibson had struck out four-plus batters in each of his previous eight outings before notching just two in this one. The 28-year-old also gave up more than nine hits for just the second time in his 14 starts this season. He'll try to chalk this up as a bad day and look to rebound in his next outing Sunday against the Rays.

  • Matthew Boyd SP | CHC

Tigers' Matt Boyd: Will remain in big league rotation

Boyd will remain in the Tigers' rotation for now, ESPN's Katie Strang reports.

With Mike Pelfrey (back) landing on the 15-day DL on Tuesday, Boyd will take the ball on Saturday against the Mets after beating out Daniel Norris for the last spot in the rotation with some solid recent starts. Boyd's 4.71 ERA doesn't tell the whole story, as he has a 2.35 ERA in the second half and a 1.27 WHIP on the season, so he is worth a look in deeper leagues.

  • Astros' Lance McCullers: Leaves game with elbow discomfort

McCullers (elbow) exited Tuesday's game in the fifth inning after experiencing discomfort in his right elbow, Angel Verdejo Jr. of the Houston Chronicle reports.

McCullers will be re-evaluated again Wednesday, and the team will likely give a timetable on his return in the next couple days. He was pitching a solid game at the time of the injury, throwing 48 of his 56 pitches for strikes, although he gave up seven hits and two earned runs.

  • Astros' Lance McCullers: Exits Tuesday's contest with apparent injury

McCullers (undisclosed) exited Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays in the fifth inning with an apparent injury, Barry Davis of Sportsnet reports.

McCullers was tossing a decent game at the time of his injury, having only given up two solo home runs to Jose Bautista and Edwin Encarnacion. He was replaced by recently promoted Joe Musgrove, who took the mound for the first time in the majors. McCullers will be considered day-to-day until more information comes out from the club after the game or sometime Wednesday.

  • Ricky Nolasco SP | ARI

Angels' Ricky Nolasco: Will get first start with Angels on Thursday

Nolasco will get his first start with the Angels as the team faces Oakland on Thursday, Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com reports.

Nolasco was traded to the Angels on Monday and will take the mound Thursday with Tim Lincecum starting Friday against the Mariners. Throughout the 2016 season, Nolasco has posted a 4-8 record with a 5.13 ERA and a 1.35 WHIP for the Twins.
