  • Dylan Bundy SP | NYM

Orioles' Dylan Bundy: Another strong relief outing Sunday

Bundy gave up two hits over three scoreless innings Sunday, striking out four, in a win over the Rays.

He threw 57 pitches in his longest outing so far this season, and with a number of weak spots in their rotation the Orioles may be gradually stretching Bundy out with an eye towards moving him into a starting spot. His 1.50 ERA and 13:1 K:BB in 12 innings over five June appearances also gives Baltimore a strong incentive to put him in a more prominent role.

  • Drew Smyly SP | CHC

Rays' Drew Smyly: Hit hard in Sunday's loss

Smyly (2-8) got tagged for eight runs on 10 hits (including three home runs) and a walk over five innings Sunday in a loss to the Orioles. He struck out six.

He's still missing plenty of bats, as Smyly generated 17 swinging strikes among his 90 pitches, but it's what happens when he doesn't miss them that's the problem. He's now surrendered at least one homer in seven straight starts and 19 home runs total in 89.2 innings (15 outings) on the season for a brutal 1.91 HR/9. He'll get no respite in his next start, either, as he'll face the Tigers' array of right-handed sluggers at home Friday.

  • Sonny Gray SP | BOS

Athletics' Sonny Gray: Posts quality start Sunday

Gray (3-6) allowed two runs on six hits and one walk while striking out three over six innings, but received no decision Sunday at the Angels.

Gray left the contest with a four-run lead before the bullpen imploded, keeping him from earning his fourth win of the year. He's now held opponents to two or fewer earned runs in four of his last five starts, and his ERA is at 5.03. He'll make his next start Friday against the Pirates.

  • Martin Perez SP | ATL

Rangers' Martin Perez: Picks up seventh win Sunday

Perez (7-4) allowed one run on six hits and two walks while striking out two over six innings to earn the win Sunday against the Red Sox.

Perez was staked to a three-run lead in the first inning, as he cruised to his seventh win of the year. He's now held opponents to three or fewer earned runs in nine of his last 12 starts and owns a 3.44 ERA. He'll make his next start Friday at Minnesota.

  • Marcus Stroman SP | NYY

Blue Jays' Marcus Stroman: Allows four runs in losing effort Sunday

Stroman (6-4) allowed four runs on seven hits and four walks while striking out four over five innings to take the loss Sunday against the White Sox.

Stroman gave up a pair of runs in both the third and fifth innings, and the Blue Jays' offense was unable to give him much run support against Chris Sale. After allowing at least four runs in five of his last six starts, Stroman's ERA has risen to 5.33. He'll make his next start Friday against the Indians.

  • Chris Sale SP | ATL

White Sox's Chris Sale: Throws eight strong innings in win Sunday

Sale (13-2) allowed two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out seven over eight innings to earn the win Sunday against the Blue Jays.

Sale gave up a pair of solo homers while the offense backed him up with five runs of support to help him nail down his 13th win. After struggling a bit in his first two start this month, he now has fired three straight quality starts to move his ERA to 2.79. He'll make his next start Saturday at Houston.

  • Tigers' Justin Verlander: Hit hard in Sunday's loss

Verlander (7-6) got hammered Sunday, allowing eight runs on nine hits (including four home runs) and two walks while striking out five over 4.2 innings in a loss to the Indians.

He held Cleveland off the board his first time through the order, but then gave up a couple runs in the fourth inning and all four homers in the fifth before getting chased. It's actually the first time Verlander has allowed that many homers in a game (forget about a single inning) since September 2007. He'll try to get back on track Saturday in Tampa.

  • Nathan Eovaldi SP | TEX

Yankees' Nathan Eovaldi: Serves up four homers in Sunday's loss

Eovaldi (6-5) couldn't keep the ball in the yard Sunday, giving up five runs on six hits (including four homers) and three walks over six innings in a loss to the Twins. He struck out four.

That puts a brutal June in the books for Eovaldi, who served up 10 homers across five starts and 26 innings to come away with a 8.65 ERA and weak 17:9 K:BB on the month. He'll be in a decent spot to begin July with a better result, though, as he takes the mound in San Diego on Friday.

  • JC Ramirez SP | LAA

Angels' J.C. Ramirez: Claimed by the Angels

Ramirez was claimed off waivers by the Angels on Sunday.

Ramirez turned in a scoreless inning Friday against the Padres, but that's a rarity for him this season, as the right-hander sports a 6.40 ERA and has been charged with three blown saves. Even though he couldn't make it in the Reds' dreadful bullpen, the Angels must have seen something they liked about the reliever, as they'll add the 27-year-old to serve in middle relief.

  • Vance Worley SP | NYM

Orioles' Vance Worley: Expected to be activated Tuesday

Worley (groin) said that he feels that he'll be ready to come off the DL on Tuesday, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.

Worley was roughed up for a run on five hits over 1.2 innings during a rehab outing with Double-A Bowie on Saturday, but he said he felt great during the session and was pleased with his velocity and command, which carries more importance than his actual results. Assuming the Orioles feel as comfortable with Worley's health as the pitcher does, he should reclaim a long-relief role upon his activation.
