Jose Quintana SP | COL
White Sox's Jose Quintana: Expected to start Saturday
Quintana (finger) will take the mound Saturday against the Yankees.
Quintana dealt with a finger cramp during his last start Sunday, but the issue appears to have subsided and he's not expected to be limited Saturday as he takes on the Yankees. The left-hander leads the AL in ERA (1.38) through seven starts, having allowed just seven earned runs through 45.2 innings.

Eduardo Rodriguez SP | ARI
Red Sox's Eduardo Rodriguez: Rehab start washed out
Rodriguez (knee) had his scheduled rehabilitation start Friday for Triple-A Pawtucket rained out. He'll pitch in one of Saturday's doubleheader games.
Minor league doubleheaders are shortened to seven innings on both ends, but the Red Sox feel that's enough time to get Rodriguez up to 100 pitches. More than the pitch count, the Red Sox will be looking to see some additional velocity out of the left-hander's fastball.

Chris Sale SP | ATL
White Sox's Chris Sale: Runs record to 8-0 with another dazzling performance
Sale was outstanding again Friday night allowing just one run on six hits, he did not issue a walk, and struck out six in a complete game win over the Yankees.
It's difficult to find new words to describe Sale (8-0) when he's in a groove. He needed just 99 pitches (71 for strikes) to keep his record perfect and lower his ERA to a microscopic 1.67 on the year. People still whisper about injury risk based on his violent delivery, but until that happens, if it ever does, he clearly remains a top tier starting pitcher. He'll face off against the Astros in Chicago next time out.

Luis Severino SP | ATH
Yankees' Luis Severino: Headed to DL
Severino is headed to the 15-day DL after being diagnosed with a mild right triceps strain, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
For now, no structural damage has been reported for Severino after the Yankees had him undergo an MRI on Friday night. He won't pick up a baseball for the next five-to-seven days, and figures to be evaluated again prior to resuming throwing. The Yankees have not announced a replacement for him in the rotation, but it seems likely that he'll miss at least three turns in the rotation.

Luis Severino SP | ATH
Yankees' Luis Severino: Sent for MRI on elbow
Severino was sent for an MRI on his right elbow after leaving his start Friday night during the third inning due to injury.
Prior to his departure, Severino was ineffective to the tune of allowing seven runs on seven hits over 2.2 innings. He also walked four and hit a batter, throwing 46 of his 81 pitches for strikes. Once the results of the MRI are made public, a timetable for his return to the mound should become clear, but his chances of making his next scheduled start are questionable at best.

Justin Verlander SP | DET
Tigers' Justin Verlander: Outstanding in 1-0 loss to Baltimore
Verlander allowed just one run on four hits, walking two and striking out eight over eight innings of a 1-0 loss to Baltimore on Friday night.
Verlander (2-4) has turned in two gems in a row, allowing just one run in his last 15 innings while punching out 17, but he has no wins to show for it. His ERA dropped to 4.71 and the Tigers have to be hoping this was a performance he can duplicate going forward. He'll attempt to do just that in his next start at home against the Twins.

Luis Severino SP | ATH
Yankees' Luis Severino: Exits Friday's game early
Severino exited Friday's matchup with the White Sox early with an apparent injury, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
Severino was noticeably uncomfortable while on the mound. He threw 81 pitches over 2.2 innings and surrendered seven earned runs prior to leaving the game. Expect an update on his status when more information becomes available.

Alex Meyer SP | LAA
Twins' Alex Meyer: Suffering from shoulder fatigue
Meyer hasn't appeared in a game since being sent to Triple-A Rochester on May 3 due to fatigue in his pitching shoulder, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
He hasn't been placed on the DL and he could return next week, but watch to make sure this isn't a significant setback.

Mike Clevinger RP | PIT
Indians' Mike Clevinger: Wild yet effective at Triple-A
Clevinger, 25, has a 3.03 ERA and 36:17 K:BB through 35.2 innings for Triple-A Columbus.
Clevinger has been wildly effective, walking entirely too many batters but also holding opposing hitters to a .219 BAA. The additional base runners will likely catch up to him at some point, though he should still make his big league debut this season.

Carlos Carrasco RP | ATL
Indians' Carlos Carrasco: Completes bullpen session
Carrasco (hamstring) threw a successful bullpen session Friday, Chris Assenheimer of the Chronicle-Telegram reports.
The right-hander cleared a major hurdle on his road back from a strained hamstring, completing his first bullpen session since landing on the DL, and Carrasco will get back onto elevated ground Monday for additional work. Running and full-speed fielding drills will be the true tests, but Carrasco appears on track to make it back within the 4-6 week window that was initially suggested for his return.
