Kyle Gibson SP | BAL
Twins' Kyle Gibson: Heading to DL
Gibson was placed on the DL with a shoulder injury, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
Gibson reported feeling soreness in his shoulder after his last time out when he was knocked around for seven runs over just three innings, and it's apparently enough to sideline him for at least two weeks. An exact timetable remains unclear at this point, but Jose Berrios figures to slot into the rotation with Gibson on the shelf.

Kyle Gibson SP | BAL
Twins' Kyle Gibson: Scratched from Wednesday start
Gibson will be scratched from his next scheduled start Wednesday, Mike Berardino of the Pioneer Press reports.
It's not entirely clear what the issue is, but Gibson reported feeling sore following his last start. The Twins have promoted Jose Berrios, who is likely to take the start Wednesday in his stead, while Gibson could be skipped in the rotation this time around.

Jose Berrios SP | TOR
Twins' Jose Berrios: Slated to debut Wednesday
Berrios will start Wednesday against the Indians, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
After much anticipation, the 21-year-old Berrios will make his major league debut opposite Josh Tomlin in the series finale against Cleveland. Wednesday was Kyle Gibson's day, but Gibson has struggled mightily through four starts, and Ervin Santana (back) and Tyler Duffey (shoulder) are banged up currently. Berrios figures to be up for good regardless of the health or performance of the other rotation members -- he has ability to be the staff ace from day one. A top prospect in all of baseball, he has posted a 1.06 ERA and 20:8 K:BB in three starts (17 innings) with Triple-A Rochester this season.

Jose Berrios SP | TOR
Twins' Jose Berrios: Getting promotion to majors
Berrios is being promoted to the majors, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Berrios has allowed just two earned runs and eight hits in three starts for Triple-A Rochester, with a 20:8 K:BB over 17 innings. One of the top prospects in all of baseball, the 21-year-old righty will join a Twins rotation that's currently dealing with a slew of question marks. Ervin Santana (back) and Tyler Duffey (shoulder) are both considered day-to-day, while Tommy Milone and Kyle Gibson have merely been ineffective. Berrios, meanwhile, hasn't pitched in a minor-league game since Thursday and should therefore be available whenever the Twins want him to start. Even working under the assumption of an innings limit, Berrios offers tantalizing upside in any format. Furthermore, he threw 166.1 highly-effective innings between the Double-A and Triple-A levels last season, so his limit shouldn't be too strict.

Taijuan Walker SP | LAA
Mariners' Taijuan Walker: Strikes out 11 in win over Astros
Walker (2-0) held the Astros to one run on six hits and a walk while striking out 11 over seven innings in Monday's victory.
Walker induced a brilliant 18 swinging strikes in 118 pitches as he had the Astros waving all night. He nearly doubled his strikeout total for the season, raising it from 14 to 25, and his 11 strikeouts matched his high from last season, accomplished twice. Walker has been fantastic to open 2016, as he now owns a 1.44 ERA and a 2.09 FIP buoyed by a brilliant 8.33 K/BB.

Tommy Milone SP | SEA
Twins' Tommy Milone: Takes no-decision against Cleveland
Milone took a no-decision Monday against Cleveland as he allowed two runs on seven hits and two walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out five.
Milone failed to finish five innings for the second straight start, as he needed 98 pitches to record the first 14 outs. Milone has a solid 17:6 K:BB on the season, but his fastball sits in the high-80s, and hitters tend to punish his mistakes harder than most pitchers. He posted a 3.92 ERA in 128.2 innings last season and lowered his 2016 ERA to 5.40 with Monday's start.

Nathan Eovaldi SP | TEX
Yankees' Nathan Eovaldi: Earns first win against Rangers
Eovaldi (1-2) earned his first win behind seven shutout innings Monday against the Rangers. He allowed just two hits and two walks and struck out six batters.
Eovaldi finally kept the ball in the yard after allowing four home runs in his first three starts. The rest of Eovaldi's game has been just fine -- an 11.2 K/9, 1.5 BB/9, and a 43.1 percent ground ball rate usually mean good things for a starting pitcher. Things finally came together for Eovaldi on Monday. But it is worth noting that Eovaldi has underperformed his peripheral numbers for most of his career -- he owns a 4.16 ERA against a 3.64 FIP for his career, and last year he finished with a 4.20 ERA despite a 3.42 FIP. He'll have to have more than one start like Monday's before prospective owners are convinced he has resolved his issues.

Marcus Stroman SP | NYY
Blue Jays' Marcus Stroman: Allows four runs in no-decision
Stroman allowed four runs in 6.2 innings in a no-decision on Monday against the White Sox. He allowed six hits, walked two, and struck out four.
Stroman has been able to give the Jays good length in his starts this year, but has an unexceptional 4.37 ERA through five starts. The righty has a strong WHIP despite the inflated ERA, but his strikeouts have been way down to start the season. He'll make his next start Sunday against the Rays.

Kevin Gausman SP | CHC
Orioles' Kevin Gausman: Takes loss in season debut against Rays
Gausman (0-1) took the loss despite holding the Rays to one run on three hits and two walks over five innings Monday night.
Gausman was nasty but wild in the minors as he rehabbed his injured shoulder -- he struck out 19 but walked five in three starts before receiving the call-up for Monday's start. He had similar issues Monday, as he walked two and put on a batter with a hit-by-pitch, but Gausman induced 11 swinging strikes to notch seven strikeouts and erase any rallies before they could snowball. Gausman's bigger issue in his career has been home runs -- he gave up 17 in just 112.1 innings last year, resulting in a 1.4 HR/9 and 4.25 ERA. When he kept the ball in the yard in 2014 (7 HR in 113.1 innings), Gausman posted a 3.57 ERA in 20 starts.

Henderson Alvarez SP | WAS
Athletics' Henderson Alvarez: Throws 40 pitches in rehab start
Alvarez gave up one unearned run in two innings of work in a rehab start with Triple-A Nashville on Monday.
Alvarez threw 40 pitches in what is another positive sign in the progression of his rehab from a UCL tear he suffered last May. The 26-year-old will likely make several more minor league starts with increasing workloads before a possible return to the majors sometime next month.
