  • Rays' Jake Odorizzi: Takes the loss against the Orioles

Odorizzi (0-1) allowed four runs on nine hits while striking out six over six innings, and took the loss Sunday against the Orioles.

Odorizzi gave up four runs in the second, which was capped off by a Manny Machado two-run bomb, though he held the Orioles down in each of the other five frames he pitched. Although he didn't have a great outing, he's still looking to build upon the success of his 2015 campaign, when he posted an ERA of 3.35 with a 1.15 WHIP. He'll make his next start Friday against the White Sox.

  • Tigers' Justin Verlander: To start Monday against Pirates

Verlander will be the starting pitcher for Monday's game against the Pirates, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

Verlander was originally set to start Sunday against the Yankees, but the game was postponed due to the weather. Presumably, since Verlander was pushed from Sunday to Monday, the pitching rotation will all be pushed back one game.

  • Tigers' Justin Verlander: Scheduled start postponed

Verlander will not make his regularly scheduled start against the Yankees on Sunday, as that game has been postponed, Erik Boland of Newsday reports.

A rotation plan hasn't been announced just yet, but Verlander could be a candidate to take the hill for Monday's series opener against the Pirates. A makeup date for the Sunday evening contest has yet to be announced.

  • Jose Quintana SP | COL

White Sox's Jose Quintana: Start pushed back to Monday

Quintana will make his next start Monday against the Twins.

Sunday's rainout of the White Sox's series finale witht the Indians resulted in Quintana missing out on a two-start week, but he'll have another one tap with turns lined up against the Twins on Monday and the Rays on either Saturday or next Sunday. The lefty turned in a typical steady, but not spectacular performance in his season debut this past Tuesday against the Athletics, scattering seven hits over 5.2 innings while allowing two runs and striking out seven.

  • Rich Hill SP | KC

Athletics' Rich Hill: Dominant in victory

Hill (1-1) allowed one run on five hits and one walk while striking out 10 over six innings, and earned the win Saturday at the Mariners.

After struggling in a surprise start on opening day, Hill registered a dominant performance as he shut down the Mariners' offense. In this outing, he looked like the same pitcher who closed out the 2015 season with four excellent starts for the Red Sox. This performance certainly provides hope for an encore performance of last year for those who drafted him. He'll make his next start Friday against the Royals.

  • Cole Hamels SP | SD

Rangers' Cole Hamels: Moves to 2-0

Hamels (2-0) allowed one run on four hits and three walks while striking out four over six innings, and earned the victory Saturday at the Angels.

Although he struggled with command issues, Hamels locked down the Angels after allowing a run in the first inning. Despite walking three batters in each of his two outings, he's only allowed three runs over 13 innings of work, and he has an excellent 2.08 ERA. He'll make his next start Thursday against the Orioles.

  • Chris Sale SP | ATL

White Sox's Chris Sale: Picks up second win Saturday

Sale (2-0) surrendered six hits, three earned runs and two walks over seven innings in Saturday's 7-3 victory over the Indians. He struck out six.

Sale had a bit of trouble with the long ball, but was otherwise sharp in posting his second victory in as many trips to the mound. The 27-year-old upped his pitch count to 107 after throwing 104 in the opener versus Oakland, and encouragingly induced 13 ground ball outs. While the whiffs are a bit down from the typical elite-level rate he's set as a standard, Sale is expected to once again be one of the most dominant pitchers in the majors in 2016.

  • Drew Smyly SP | CHC

Rays' Drew Smyly: Will not start Saturday

Smyly will not start as scheduled Saturday with the news that the matchup with the Orioles has been postponed.

Smyly was set to face the Orioles on Saturday, but rain canceled the game. He will not be simply pushed back to Sunday, and is now set to make his next start Wednesday against the Indians.

  • Yu Darvish SP | SD

Rangers' Yu Darvish: To throw live BP Wednesday

Darvish is expected to throw live batting practice Wednesday, Jeff Wilson of the Forth Worth Star-Telegram reports.

Darvish went through a throwing workout Saturday, throwing two sets of 25 pitches in a simulated setting. He'll progress to facing live hitters for the first time Wednesday and remains on track to return to the Rangers' rotation sometime in May.

  • Kevin Gausman SP | CHC

Orioles' Kevin Gausman: Making rehab start Sunday

Gausman (shoulder) will make a rehab start at Double-A Bowie on Sunday, Eddie Encina of the Baltimore Sun reports.

Gausman was initially slated to throw Saturday, but he'll instead take the hill Sunday as he continues to work back from a shoulder injury. Barring a setback, the plan is for Gausman to make a start at High-A Frederick next Friday.
