  • Dallas Keuchel SP | MIL

Astros' Dallas Keuchel: Will have workload monitored this spring

Keuchel will be on an adjusted schedule this spring after throwing 246 innings between the regular season and the playoffs last season, Phil Rogers of MLB.com reports.

The reigning AL Cy Young award winner is a safe bet to top 200 innings again in 2016, so the Astros are just being careful with his workload this spring.

  • Yu Darvish SP | SD

Rangers' Yu Darvish: Feels pain-free after first bullpen session

Darvish (elbow) said that he felt pain-free after his first bullpen session off of a mound Monday, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.

Darvish had just graduated to throwing off a mini mound last week, and apparently felt well enough to advance even further in his rehabilitation process. The fact that he's pain-free right now is great news; he remains on track to return sometime in May.

  • Athletics' Henderson Alvarez: Throws from a mound Monday

Alvarez threw from a mound Monday for the first time since undergoing shoulder surgery last July, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Alvarez will miss the first few weeks of the regular season while he completes his recovery, but Monday's activity represents a significant step in the process. Once Alvarez is 100 percent healthy and has his stamina back, he will almost certainly jump into Oakland's starting rotation.

  • Nathan Eovaldi SP | TEX

Yankees' Nathan Eovaldi: Side session pushed back

Eovaldi's scheduled bullpen session will be pushed back from Tuesday to Wednesday due to tightness in his groin, Wallace Matthews of ESPN New York reports.

The one day delay indicates Eovaldi's setback is not considered serious, but the Yankees don't figure to take any chances with a pitcher who is on track to open the season in their starting rotation.

  • Dylan Bundy SP | NYM

Orioles' Dylan Bundy: Good intrasquad appearance

Bundy (shoulder) threw a 1-2-3 inning and struck out Matt Wieters and Chris Davis in an intrasquad game Sunday, MASN Sports reports.

Bundy is game ready as spring training games are set to begin. He should make it into a game Wednesday or Thursday. This will be an important month for Bundy, as the Orioles attempt to determine if he is healthy and durable enough to begin the season with the team, and as the club formulates what kind of a workload he can handle during the season.

  • Chris Bassitt SP | BAL

Athletics' Chris Bassitt: Appears to have an inside track to A's rotation.

Bassitt appears to be a favorite to start the year in the A's rotation, reports Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle.

Bassitt will likely have to earn his spot in the spring, but his 86 innings of 3.56 ERA for the A's in 2015 seems to have him as a favorite for the role. Bassitt was a victim of poor run support last year, earning only one win in 13 starts despite his solid ratios. Bassitt did not show a strong strikeout rate with only 6.7 K/9 in 2015, but managed to allow less than a hit per inning to help manage his ratios. He did have a strong strikeout rate in the minors (8.7 K/9), so a strikeout bump could be coming as he settles into a role in the majors.

  • Jose Quintana SP | COL

White Sox's Jose Quintana: Projects as team's second starter

Quintana currently projects as the White Sox's No. 2 starter, the team's official site reports.

Manager Robin Ventura has yet to officially announce the order of his rotation, but the spring training scheduling suggests Quintana will follow Chris Sale. Quintana has served as a steady hand in the middle of the White Sox's rotation the past few seasons, consistently starting at least 30 games, throwing 200 innings, and posting ERA's in the mid-3.00's. That streak should continue into 2016.

  • Chris Sale SP | ATL

White Sox's Chris Sale: Projects as Opening Day starter

Sale currently projects as the White Sox's Opening Day starter, the team's official site reports.

Manager Robin Ventura has yet to officially announce the order of his rotation, but the spring training scheduling suggests Sale will take the mound on Opening Day against the A's. Sale's place atop the team's rotation should come as no surprise, as he has been one of the top starters in the league in recent years.

  • Red Sox's Eduardo Rodriguez: Shut down for three days after knee injury

Rodriguez has a subluxation of the patella tendon in his right knee and will be evaluated after a 72-hour period of no throwing, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

Rodriguez had to be helped off the field by trainers Saturday, but reported that he was pain-free soon after. The Red Sox aren't taking any chances with their young starter, so we'll see what the prognosis is in three days.

  • Red Sox's Eduardo Rodriguez: Leaves practice with knee injury

Rodriguez tweaked his right knee during a drill at training camp Saturday, the Providence Journal reports.

Rodriguez was taken off the field accompanied by team trainers and will be re-evaluated Sunday, but he reported whatever pain he felt when leaving the field had disappeared by the time he was in the training room. He told reporters he felt fine.
