  • Gerrit Cole SP | NYY

Yankees' Gerrit Cole: Earns fifth win

Cole (5-5) earned the win Sunday against the Cubs, allowing one run on four hits and three walks while striking out five over 5.2 innings.

Cole threw 63 of his 99 pitches for strikes and picked up his second consecutive victory. His only blemish came in the fourth inning when Michael Busch delivered an RBI single. The veteran right-hander has been excellent since the All-Star break, allowing just six runs across 24.2 innings while piling up 31 strikeouts in four starts. Through 13 outings this season, Cole owns a 3.42 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 78:17 K:BB across 73.2 innings. He's scheduled to make his next start Saturday against Atlanta.

  • Griffin Jax SP | TB

Rays' Griffin Jax: Fans eight in ninth loss

Jax (6-9) took the loss Sunday against the White Sox, allowing three runs (one earned) on four hits and no walks in five innings. He struck out eight.

A fielding error by Jax himself with two outs in the opening inning kept two earned runs off his ledger, much to the delight of fantasy managers. Sunday thus went down as the right-hander's third consecutive start with just one earned run allowed, and Jax has certainly found his way as part of the starting rotation after beginning his first year with the Rays as a reliever. Over 82.2 innings as a starter, he's posted a 3.16 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 90:23 K:BB as opposed to an 8.00 ERA and 1.89 WHIP across nine frames out of the bullpen. Jax is next slated to take the ball in Seattle at pitcher-friendly T-Mobile Park.

  • Anthony Kay SP | CHW

White Sox's Anthony Kay: Brilliant in eighth win

Kay (8-5) notched the win Sunday against the Rays, allowing no runs on seven hits and one walk in 6.1 innings. He struck out three.

It was an impressive performance by the left-hander, who delivered his first scoreless start since June 22 versus the Guardians. Kay submitted his longest outing of the campaign as well, scattering seven singles Sunday in what was also encouragingly his first appearance without a hit batsman since July 3 in Cleveland. Kay should carry a bit of streaming appeal in his next scheduled start against a scuffling Guardians lineup, carrying a 4.01 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 90:42 K:BB over 110 innings.

  • Peter Lambert SP | HOU

Astros' Peter Lambert: Fans eight in no-decision

Lambert did not factor into the decision Sunday against the Rangers, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks while striking out eight over 5.2 innings.

Lambert was perfect through his first four innings, piling up seven strikeouts before Texas finally broke through. In the fifth, the right-hander allowed four consecutive baserunners to begin the inning, resulting in the only two runs charged to him. Lambert has now held opponents to two runs or fewer in 11 of his last 12 starts while posting a 2.63 ERA during that stretch. He's scheduled to make his next start Saturday against the Padres.

  • Kumar Rocker SP | TEX

Rangers' Kumar Rocker: Allows 10 hits in no-decision

Rocker did not factor into the decision Sunday against the Astros, allowing three runs on 10 hits and two walks while striking out five over 5.1 innings.

Rocker threw 59 of his 88 pitches for strikes and generated 15 whiffs despite allowing a season-high 10 hits. The biggest blow came in the fourth inning, when Jeremy Pena launched a two-run homer. The right-hander has now issued multiple walks in four straight starts, posting a 4.56 ERA during that stretch. For the season, Rocker owns a 4.08 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 98:40 K:BB across 108 innings. His next start is scheduled for Saturday against the Orioles.

  • Gavin Williams SP | CLE

Guardians' Gavin Williams: Continues dominant stretch

Williams (11-6) earned the win Sunday against the Diamondbacks, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out 10 over 5.2 scoreless innings.

Williams was perfect through five innings, piling up nine strikeouts, including five against consecutive batters. Tim Tawa finally broke up the no-hit bid with a leadoff single in the sixth, and a rain delay ended Williams' afternoon with two outs in the inning after he had thrown 89 pitches. The right-hander has now recorded double-digit strikeouts in five consecutive starts, compiling an incredible 55:3 K:BB across 32.2 innings with a 2.48 ERA during that span. Through 23 starts this season, Williams owns a 3.56 ERA and 1.04 WHIP, and his 178 strikeouts trail only Jacob Misiorowski for the MLB lead.

  • Keider Montero SP | DET

Tigers' Keider Montero: Fires six shutout innings

Montero (8-6) allowed two hits, two walks and a hit batsman while striking out two over six shutout innings to earn the win Sunday over the Athletics.

Montero has started his last three outings, allowing seven runs (five earned) over 15.2 innings with an 11:3 K:BB in that span. The right-hander looks to have some extra security to stay in the rotation for the rest of the year after the Tigers dealt Tarik Skubal to the Dodgers on Saturday. Montero has pitched to a 3.17 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 81:25 K:BB through 116.1 innings over 24 games (18 starts) in a breakout campaign this year. He'll have plenty of appeal with his next start projected to be on the road versus the Giants.

  • Gage Jump SP | ATH

Athletics' Gage Jump: Wild in loss

Jump (4-7) allowed six runs on four hits and six walks while striking out five over 3.2 innings to take the loss Sunday versus the Tigers.

Jump has walked at least four batters in three straight outings, giving up 12 runs with a 17:14 K:BB across 14.1 innings in that span. The rookie southpaw hadn't walked that many batters in any of his first 10 outings. He's now at a 4.59 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 73:31 K:BB through 66.2 innings over 13 starts this season. Jump is at least doing a good job of limiting home runs -- he's given up just seven long balls, though he's been tagged for multiple homers three times. He's projected to make his next start at Boston.

  • Taj Bradley SP | MIN

Twins' Taj Bradley: Quality start in no-decision

Bradley did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing three runs on seven hits and four walks over six innings against the Mariners. He struck out two.

Bradley ran into trouble early, allowing two runs in the first inning, but was able to limit the damage and record a quality start. Walks have been a bit of an issue for the right-hander all season and have ticked up even further of late, as he's issued at least three free passes in each of his past four starts. Overall, Bradley owns a 9-4 record with a 3.69 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 141:53 K:BB across 126.2 innings (22 starts) and is tentatively scheduled to pitch Saturday against the Brewers.

  • George Kirby SP | SEA

Mariners' George Kirby: Fires seven scoreless innings

Kirby did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing five hits and a walk over seven scoreless innings against the Twins. He struck out three.

Kirby silenced the Twins offense across seven shutout innings, though a bullpen implosion kept him from being credited with the win. It was a much-needed bounce-back effort for the right-hander, who was tagged for seven runs in Monday's loss to the Rangers. Overall, the 28-year-old owns an 8-9 record with a 3.76 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 110:26 K:BB across 127 innings (21 starts) and is lined up to pitch next weekend against the Rays.
