  • Keider Montero SP | DET

    Tigers' Keider Montero: Officially recalled

Montero was recalled from Triple-A Toledo ahead of Tuesday's game against the Red Sox.

Montero will work as the bulk reliever behind opener Tyler Holton. Montero has a 4.15 ERA and 1.48 WHIP this season with 15 strikeouts and 10 walks in 21.2 innings.

  • Shane Drohan SP | MIL

Red Sox's Shane Drohan: Stellar campaign interrupted

Triple-A Worcester will place Drohan on the 7-day injured list Tuesday due to left forearm inflammation, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

The 26-year-old lefty has a 2.03 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 38 strikeouts in 26.2 innings across seven appearances for Worcester. He should be considered out indefinitely.

  • Patrick Reilly SP | BAL

Orioles' Patrick Reilly: Shut down for season

Double-A Chesapeake transferred Reilly (elbow) to its full-season injured list Sunday.

Chesapeake initially placed Reilly on the 7-day IL on April 23 due to right elbow discomfort. Though the Orioles haven't provided an explanation for why Reilly was moved to the full-season IL, the transaction likely points to the right-hander requiring surgery of some sort. Reilly had made three starts prior to being shelved, tossing 9.2 innings and striking out eight batters while allowing two earned runs on six hits and four walks.

  • Keeler Morfe SP | BAL

Orioles' Keeler Morfe: Out with finger sprain

Single-A Delmarva placed Morfe on its 7-day injured list April 22 due to a right ring finger sprain, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Morfe suffered the injury during his April 18 start. The 18-year-old righty had struggled mightily with his control over three abbreviated outings to begin the season, walking 12 batters and allowing seven runs (five earned) in just two innings.

  • Rays' Santiago Suarez: Shelved at High-A

High-A Bowling Green placed Suarez on its 7-day injured list Friday due to an unspecified injury

Before landing on the IL, the 20-year-old righty had performed as one of the top arms in the lower levels of the Tampa Bay system so far this season, logging a 1.78 ERA, 0.84 WHIP and 28:5 K:BB across 25.1 innings.

  • Twins' Simeon Woods Richardson: Twins-Orioles rained out

Woods Richardson will have his next start pushed back after Tuesday's game in Baltimore was postponed due to rain.

The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader Wednesday. Woods Richardson will take the mound in the second contest, while Bailey Ober will start the first game.

  • Cade Povich SP | BAL

Orioles' Cade Povich: Twins-Orioles game postponed

Povich's next start will be pushed back after Tuesday's game against the Twins was postponed due to rain.

The game will be made up as part of a traditional doubleheader Wednesday. Povich will presumably take the ball in one of those contests.

  • Tigers' Sawyer Gipson-Long: Moves rehab to High-A

Gipson-Long (elbow/hip) is scheduled to make the second start of his rehab assignment Tuesday with High-A West Michigan, Emily Waldon of Baseball America reports.

Gipson-Long will be moving up a level after he made his first rehab start with Single-A Lakeland last Thursday, when he struck out two over 1.1 scoreless innings while allowing three hits and no walks. The Tigers will have Gipson-Long build up as a starter while he works his way back from the Tommy John surgery he underwent last April and the left hip surgery he had last July. Gipson-Long will likely need most of the 30-day rehab window to get stretched out, and he could optioned to Triple-A Toledo once activated from the 60-day injured list if the Tigers don't have a spot available for him in the big-league rotation.

  • Gage Jump SP | ATH

Athletics' Gage Jump: Promoted to Double-A

The Athletics promoted Jump from High-A Lansing to Double-A Midland on Tuesday.

Jump underwent Tommy John surgery in college and was selected with the 73rd pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft. The six-foot southpaw gets good run on his mid-90s fastball and has two strong breaking balls in his slider and curveball. Jump logged a 2.32 ERA, 0.84 WHIP and 45:5 K:BB in 31 innings across six appearances for Lansing.

  • White Sox's Jonathan Cannon: Working behind opener Tuesday

The White Sox will deploy Cannon as a bulk reliever behind opening pitcher Brandon Eisert in Tuesday's game against the Reds, Jack Ankony of SI.com reports.

Cannon has started in seven of his eight appearances on the season, but he'll enter Tuesday's contest out of the bullpen once Eisert exits the contest after likely working the first inning or two. Though he doesn't make many bats miss, Cannon has performed well over his last five outings, going 2-2 with a 3.30 ERA and 1.37 WHIP across 30 innings.
