Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Monday that Gil (lat) began a throwing program Sunday, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Gil's throwing progression had been pushed back because his right lat strain wasn't fully healed yet, but he played catch Sunday and felt fine a day later Monday. It will be a slow ramp-up for the right-hander, as Gil was shut down for two months. He won't be ready to rejoin the Yankees' rotation until at least June.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Monday that Stroman still has discomfort in his injured left knee, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Stroman has been shelved for more than two weeks with left knee inflammation and was cleared to play catch in mid-April. However, he's still experiencing lingering soreness and it's not clear when he might be ready to throw off a mound. Stroman appears to be multiple weeks away from a return.

Arrighetti got imaging on his fractured right thumb Monday that showed the bone is healing properly, Will Kunkel of FOX 26 Houston reports.

Arrighetti was able to shed his cast, but he is still not able to do any throwing. Instead, he will focus on strengthening his legs until he is cleared to begin a throwing program. A timetable for Arrighetti's return to the Astros' rotation won't be established until he ramps up his throwing.

Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said that Eflin (lat) is scheduled to throw another bullpen session Tuesday, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

After landing on the 15-day injured list April 9 due to a right lat strain, Eflin was cleared to throw off a mound for the first time this past Friday. All apparently went well during that side session, and Eflin will repeat the activity again Tuesday, though perhaps with greater intensity and with more throwing volume. If Eflin checks out fine after Tuesday's session, he could advance to facing hitters in live batting practice.

Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said that Bradish (elbow) completed another bullpen session Monday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Bradish has been throwing side sessions for more than two weeks, and though he's checked out fine so far, the Orioles haven't determined when he might be ready to take the next step forward in his rehab program by facing hitters. The right-hander is expected to be ready to make his 2025 debut at some point in the second half of the season, assuming he hits no snags in his recovery from the Tommy John surgery he underwent last June.

Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said Monday that Wells (elbow) will throw a bullpen session Friday, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

The rght-hander will throw off a mound for the first time since getting a UCL revision and internal brace augmentation surgery on his right elbow last June. Wells hopes to be available to contribute to the Orioles sometime after the All-Star break.

Orioles manager Brandon Hyde confirmed Monday that Gibson (back) will be recalled from High-A Aberdeen to make his season debut Tuesday versus the Yankees, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Gibson has been getting ramped up with three starts in the minors after signing with the Orioles in late March. He dealt with some back tightness in his last outing at Aberdeen, but the veteran righty has bounced back well from that injury and is ready to join the Baltimore rotation. Gibson threw 78 pitches and went five innings in his last start, so he should be available for close to a full workload Tuesday.

White Sox manager Will Venable said last Tuesday that he anticipates Perez (elbow) returning from the 60-day injured list at some point in September, ESPN.com reports. "He's continuing to get evaluated," Venable said of Perez, who was diagnosed last week with a flexor tendon strain in his left elbow. "We're going to treat him and expect him to pitch later on in the summer."

After inking a one-year, $5 million deal with Chicago in the offseason, Perez had been a pleasant surprise through his first four starts of the season, turning in a 3.15 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 18:11 K:BB over 20 innings. The 34-year-old southpaw left his April 18 start after experiencing forearm soreness and was placed on the IL after his MRI revealed a strain. Perez won't require reconstructive Tommy John surgery on his elbow, but he'll be shut down for an extended period and may not be ready to begin his throwing program until well after the All-Star break. Even if Perez makes it back from the shelf late in the season, he may not have enough time to get ramped up for a starting role and could work out of the bullpen.

Bieber (elbow) is expected to begin pitching in simulated games at the Guardians' spring training complex in Arizona at some point in May, SI.com reports.

Though the Guardians haven't officially confirmed as much, Bieber appears to have reached the point in his rehab that he's facing hitters, after he had been limited to throwing bullpen sessions by the end of spring training. The right-hander is working his way back from April 12, 2024 Tommy John surgery and will require an extensive ramp-up period once he's deemed ready for game action in the minors. If he avoids any setbacks, Bieber could be ready to make his 2025 debut for the Guardians around midseason.

Gibson (back) is expected to be called up from High-A Aberdeen to make his Orioles debut Tuesday against the Yankees at Camden Yards, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Because Gibson didn't sign a one-year, $5.25 million deal with the Orioles until spring training had already wrapped up, he agreed to begin the season in the minors to continue building up his pitch count. The right-hander turned in a 3.75 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 13:2 K:BB over 12 innings across his three outings in the minors, though he hasn't pitched since April 20 after developing back tightness following his appearance with Aberdeen that day. The Orioles don't view that injury as a major concern, however, and since Gibson covered five innings and 78 pitches in his final minor-league outing, he should be ready to take on something close to a traditional starter's workload in his 2025 big-league debut. Though Gibson has never been a major fantasy contributor, the 37-year-old right-hander's ability to competently eat innings should prove valuable to an Orioles rotation that has been decimated by injuries and has received poor performances from veterans Charlie Morton and Dean Kremer through the first month of the season.
