The Astros placed France (shoulder) on the 60-day injured list Thursday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
The procedural move frees up a spot on the 40-man roster. France is not expected back until after the All-Star break while he recovers from July 1 surgery to repair a torn right shoulder capsule.

The Astros placed Whitley (knee) on the 15-day injured list Thursday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Whitley suffered a left knee bone bruise during a March 8 Grapefruit League appearance against the Yankees. He has continued throwing bullpen sessions, but it's unclear when he'll be ready to go on a minor-league rehab assignment.

Astros' Cristian Javier: IL move made official
The Astros placed Javier (elbow) on the 15-day injured list Thursday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Javier is not expected to be ready to make his 2025 debut until the second half of the season while he recovers from Tommy John surgery, which he underwent June 6 of last yaer. He's a candidate to eventually shift to the 60-day IL if/when the Astros need to free a 40-man roster spot.

The Astros placed Garcia (elbow) on the 15-day injured list Thursday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Manager Joe Espada said the team got "decent news" from the first opinion on Garcia's right elbow, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports. However, the medical staff and Garcia are still awaiting the results of a second opinion before a decision is made on how to proceed. Garcia was pulled off his throwing program last week after experiencing soreness in his surgically repaired elbow.

Astros' Ryan Gusto: Recalled from Triple-A
The Astros recalled Gusto from Triple-A Sugar Land on Thursday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Gusto had been optioned earlier this month but has ultimately been included as part of the Opening Day bullpen. He's been a starter for most of his minor-league career and should serve as a multi-inning relief option.

Tigers' Ty Madden: Officially placed on IL
The Tigers placed Madden (shoulder) on the 15-day injured list Thursday.
Madden has been sidelined by a strained rotator cuff in his right shoulder since early March and remains without a return timeline. Once he's healthy, he'll likely be sent to Triple-A Toledo or work as a long reliever out of Detroit's bullpen.

The Tigers placed Cobb (hip) on the 15-day injured list Thursday.
Right hip inflammation has plagued Cobb since the early stages of spring camp, and he didn't resume throwing off a mound until last week. He remains without a clear return timeline and likely won't have one until he's cleared to face live hitters, but he shouldn't be expected back for at least another month.

Red Sox's Lucas Giolito: Goes on 15-day IL
The Red Sox placed Giolito (hamstring) on the 15-day injured list Thursday, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.
Giolito tweaked his hamstring during his first start of the spring back in mid-March. He was never shut down from throwing, and he most recently threw a two-inning simulated game at the Red Sox's spring training complex Sunday, according to MLB.com. The Red Sox appear optimistic that the right-hander won't miss much more than two or three turns through the rotation before making his team debut at some point in April.

The Red Sox placed Crawford on the 15-day injured list Thursday with right patellar tendiopathy, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.
Crawford's knee issue dates back to early last season, but he has resumed throwing off a mound. The right-hander is without a timeline to make his season debut, but he appears likely to miss at least the first month or so.
