Baz did not factor into the decision in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Guardians, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk with eight strikeouts over five innings.

Baz allowed two runs in the fourth inning but was otherwise sharp, throwing 55 of 82 pitches for strikes while racking up 17 whiffs. The 26-year-old has turned in two quality starts over his past three outings, giving up just five earned runs with a 21:5 K:BB over the entirety of that span. He'll carry a 4.94 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 164:57 K:BB across 155 innings into a road matchup with the Cubs next weekend.

Kremer's MRI on his right forearm came back clean, though he'll miss his next start, Danielle Allentuck of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.

Kremer exited Friday's start against the Dodgers after three innings due to right forearm discomfort. A subsequent MRI returned negative, but Kremer is going to have his next turn skipped. However, if the veteran hurler feels okay after he resumes throwing, he could avoid an IL stint.

Bibee did not factor into the decision in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Rays, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk with three strikeouts over 6.2 innings.

Bibee opened with four scoreless frames before giving up a run in both the fifth and sixth innings. The 26-year-old notched his first quality start since July 21 and just his second outing in his past eight allowing fewer than four earned runs. He'll take a 4.69 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 139:50 K:BB across 161.1 innings into a home matchup with the White Sox next weekend.

Bassitt (11-8) took the loss against the Yankees on Saturday, allowing two unearned runs on three hits and three walks while striking out three batters over five innings.

A second-inning error helped the Yankees score the only two runs they managed against Bassitt. Though the righty hurler didn't allow any extra-base hits, that pair of unearned runs was enough to saddle him with the loss. Bassitt is now winless across his past eight starts, though he's allowed more than three runs only once during that span. He'll look to get back in the win column in his next start, which is lined up to come against Baltimore next week.

Gil (3-1) earned the win over Toronto on Saturday, allowing one run on three hits and four walks while striking out one batter over six innings.

Gil was a bit wild with the four walks, but he mostly managed to work around the free passes. The right-hander picked up only one punchout and recorded 13 flyouts to just three groundouts, but he nonetheless notched his first quality start of the campaign. Gil yielded five runs over 3.1 innings in his 2025 debut Aug. 3 versus Miami, but he's been very effective since, surrendering no more than two runs while completing at least five frames in each of his subsequent six starts. Overall, he's at a 3.31 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 30:23 K:BB through 35.1 innings.

The Astros optioned Gordon to Triple-A Sugar Land on Saturday, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Gordon has appeared in 16 games for the Astros this season, making 14 starts, and has registered a 4-4 record, 5.67 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 64:15 K:BB across 73 innings. He's no longer needed in the rotation after Luis Garcia returned from his elbow injury earlier this week.

Arrighetti (elbow) said Saturday that he will miss the remainder of the regular season, but his UCL is intact, and he won't require surgery, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Arrighetti is dealing with right elbow inflammation, and he hopes to resume throwing once the swelling subsides. The diagnosis comes as good news for the right-hander, who landed on the 15-day injured listed earlier this week. Both Arrighetti and the Astros remain hopeful he can return to the mound at some point in the postseason should Houston make the playoffs.

Kremer underwent an MRI on his right forearm Saturday and will meet with team doctors to determine if he'll need to be placed on the 15-day injured list, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Kremer was removed from Friday's start against the Dodgers after tossing three no-hit innings. If Kremer needs to head to the injured list, interim manager Tony Mansolino said Chayce McDermott will be activated from the taxi squad.

Cobb will undergo hip resurfacing surgery and miss the remainder of the season, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

Cobb had yet to pitch in the majors this season but was trying to work his way back, as he made 10 rehab appearances (seven starts) and recorded a 1.74 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 24:15 K:BB across 20.2 innings in the minors. Cobb was pulled off his rehab assignment last week but resumed it earlier this week. However, he still doesn't feel right and will go under the knife. The soon-to-be 38-year-old (in October) admitted this could be the end for him in his playing career.

The Tigers activated Paddack from the bereavement list Saturday, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Paddack was away from the team the previous three days but will rejoin the Tigers' bullpen for the final two games of the team's series against the White Sox. Paddack has been roughed up across seven appearances (six starts) with Detroit since he was acquired from Minnesota, registering a 6.89 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 15:5 K:BB across 31.1 innings. He's surrendered 10 home runs in that span.
