Aldegheri will be called up from Double-A Rocket City to make his major-league debut Friday against the Mariners, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Aldegheri was acquired from the Phillies at the trade deadline in the deal that sent reliever Carlos Estevez to Philadelphia. The promotion is an aggressive one for the left-hander, who has made just six starts at the Double-A level, but he has recorded 134 strikeouts over 95.1 innings between High-A and Double-A in 2024. Aldegheri will presumably get a chance to make additional starts with the Angels if he pitches well in his MLB debut.

The Angels will call up Dana from Double-A Rocket City to start Sunday's game against the Mariners, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Regarded as the best pitching prospect in the Angels' farm system, Dana will skip the Triple-A level to make his MLB debut against a weak Mariners offense that ranks 29th in the majors with a .666 OPS on the season. The 20-year-old righty owns a 2.59 ERA and 0.95 WHIP through 23 starts with Rocket City this season, and he leads all Double-A pitchers with 147 strikeouts through 135.2 innings. It's unclear if he'll remain in the Angels rotation past Sunday, though a strong outing against Seattle would certainly improve his chances.

The Rangers optioned Leiter to Triple-A Round Rock on Thursday.

Because the Rangers and White Sox essentially played a doubleheader Wednesday after Tuesday's series opener was suspended in the first inning, both teams were allotted a 27th man. Leiter was called up from Round Rock to serve as the Rangers' 27th man, and he drew the start for the second contest of the day, working four innings and allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits and no walks while striking out four in a no-decision. Though he'll be headed back to Round Rock a day later, the Rangers have only four healthy starters at the moment, so Leiter could be a candidate to get recalled when a fifth starter is next needed during the upcoming week. Leiter has struggled mightily through his first four big-league starts (12.83 ERA, 2.40 WHIP, 11:8 K:BB in 13.1 innings), but he recorded 20 strikeouts over 9.1 innings in his most recent two starts at Triple-A to earn his latest call-up. The Rangers may want to get a longer look at the right-hander in the majors in September and give him the chance to stake a claim to a more permanent rotation spot in 2025.

Littell (shoulder) threw a simulated game Wednesday, MLB.com reports.

Manager Kevin Cash confirmed that Littell will not go on a rehab assignment. Assuming Littell's progress continues, he is expected to return to the rotation during the Rays' upcoming homestand, beginning Aug. 30 and ending Sept. 5.

Baz (illness) is expected to start Saturday against the Padres, MLB.com reports.

Baz was scratched from his scheduled start Sunday against the Dodgers, but he played catch Wednesday and is expected to throw a bullpen session Thursday. Assuming the side session goes well, he'll be lined up for a return to the rotation this weekend.

The White Sox recalled Nastrini from Triple-A Charlotte ahead of his scheduled start Thursday against the Rangers in Chicago.

Nastrini will make his first appearance for the big club since June 8 after he submitted a 4.89 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and 54:35 K:BB across 49.2 innings since returning to Charlotte. The right-hander's numbers were even worse over his six starts with the White Sox earlier this season (8.39 ERA, 1.99 WHIP and 25:19 K:BB in 24.2 innings), rendering Nastrini an unreliable streaming option as he rejoins the White Sox. Nastrini will be entering the White Sox rotation as a replacement for Ky Bush, who was optioned to Triple-A earlier this week.

Bido came away with a no-decision in Wednesday's 9-6 win over the Reds, allowing two runs on three hits over six innings. He struck out five without walking a batter.

It was another sharp performance from Bido, who delivered his fourth quality start in five August outings on 84 pitches (54 strikes). The right-hander left the mound in line for his sixth win, but the Oakland bullpen melted down in the seventh inning, only for the offense to rally in the eighth. Bido has a 1.55 ERA, 0.79 WHIP and 28:9 K:BB through 29 innings on the month, and he'll look to stay hot in his next start, which is scheduled to come at home early next week against the Mariners.

Canning (4-12) took the loss Wednesday, giving up three runs on five hits and four walks over five innings as the Angels fell 3-2 to the Tigers. He struck out four.

The right-hander tossed only 52 of his 93 pitches for strikes, but Canning also got little help from his offense as the Halos didn't score until after he was out of the game. He also served up another homer, this one a second-inning solo shot by Spencer Torkelson, and through 144 innings this season he's been taken deep 25 times -- tied for the fifth-highest total in the majors. Canning will take a 5.19 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 106:52 K:BB into his next outing, which lines up to come at home early next week against the Dodgers.

Burned (12-7) took the loss against the Dodgers on Wednesday, allowing six runs (one earned) on five hits over five innings while striking out four.

Burnes didn't get off to the start he was hoping for as the right-hander surrendered a leadoff homer to Shohei Ohtani on a hanging slider to open the contest. The 29-year-old was then able to retire the next seven batters he faced before Enrique Hernandez reached on a fielding error by Ramon Urias. The Dodgers would go on to score four runs in the frame, topped off by a three-run homer from Teoscar Hernandez, though the error means Burnes was charged with just one earned run. He's now allowed 28 runs (21 earned) over 25.2 innings in August, posting a 7.36 ERA for the month to go along with a 1-3 record. Wednesday also marked the second outing this month in which he surrendered multiple home runs.

DeGrom (elbow) will increase his workload to three innings and 50 pitches in his third rehab start, MLB.com reports.

DeGrom made a second rehab start Tuesday, throwing two perfect innings and striking out two batters while throwing 24 pitches (16 strikes). The Rangers allotted for him to throw 40 pitches, but deGrom was too efficient and finished his work in the bullpen. Texas manager Bruce Bochy did not indicate the schedule for the third rehab start, but it could come as early as this weekend.
