Matthews will remain a risky fantasy option in his next scheduled appearance, which is set to be a difficult task on the road against the first-place Blue Jays.

Houser (7-4) earned the win Friday against St. Louis, allowing four runs on six hits and two walks in 6.1 innings. He struck out two.

Houser was working toward firing seven innings of two-run ball, but Nathan Church launched a two-run home run in the seventh frame to prevent the hurler from logging a quality start. The veteran right-hander was quite a pleasant surprise while posting a 1.56 ERA through his first nine starts in 2025, but he's staggered to a 5.18 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 23:10 K:BB across his last six outings (33 innings). Houser will be aiming to right the ship in his next appearance, currently projected for next weekend against the last-place Nationals.

Anderson didn't factor into the decision against the Cubs on Friday, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks while striking out five over five innings.

The left-hander did well to limit the damage, with his only runs coming on a first-inning solo homer from Kyle Tucker and a sacrifice fly in the third. While Anderson didn't pitch deep into the contest, he kept Los Angeles within striking distance and turned in one of his steadier outings of late. The 35-year-old had struggled over his previous six starts, posting a 6.67 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 19:15 K:BB across 29.2 innings during that stretch, so Friday's effort represented a modest step in the right direction.

Woo (11-7) allowed one run on one hit and two walks while striking out seven over seven innings to earn the win Friday over the Athletics.

Woo gave up a solo shot to Brent Rooker in the first inning, but that was the extent of the damage. Woo followed that with 6.1 no-hit innings in one of the most dominant starts in an already impressive campaign. The 25-year-old has surrendered just six runs over 26 innings across his four starts in August. Overall, he's at a 2.94 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 160:30 K:BB through 159 innings over 25 starts. The right-hander is projected for a tough home start versus the Padres next week.

Urena was designated for assignment by the Twins on Friday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Urena was tagged for six runs on seven hits and two walks across five innings in Thursday's loss to the Athletics. On the season, Urena has a 5.00 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 20:13 K:BB across 36 innings of work with four teams. The Twins booted Urena from the 40-man and 26-man rosters in order to make room for Mick Abel's expected promotion ahead of Saturday's start.

Cecconi didn't factor into the decision against the Rangers on Friday, allowing two runs on four hits while striking out three over six innings. He did not issue a walk.

Both runs Cecconi surrendered came via the long ball, as Rowdy Tellez took him deep in the fifth inning and Wyatt Langford followed with a solo shot in the sixth. Home runs have been a consistent issue for Cecconi, who has now surrendered 19 homers across 96 innings this season. Despite the flaw, the right-hander has provided steady innings for Cleveland, and will carry a 4.41 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 79:26 K:BB into his next scheduled outing against the Rays.

Eovaldi didn't factor into the decision against the Guardians on Friday, allowing one run on four hits while striking out nine over seven innings.

The right-hander's lone blemish came on a second-inning RBI double by C.J. Kayfus, but he was otherwise dominant, tying his season high with nine punchouts. Eovaldi has now gone at least seven innings in five of his last seven outings, posting a 1.93 ERA and a stellar 43:8 K:BB across 46.2 innings during that stretch. The 35-year-old will carry this strong form into his next scheduled start against the Angels.

Bergert did not factor into the decision in Friday's 7-5 loss to the Tigers, allowing two runs on three hits and one walk with five strikeouts over 5.2 innings.

Bergert generated 12 whiffs on 90 pitches and left with a 3-1 lead before Angel Zerpa immediately allowed a game-tying homer. The 25-year-old has impressed in four starts with the Royals, pitching into the sixth inning and yielding two earned runs or fewer in each outing. He'll carry a 2.79 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 56:24 K:BB across 58 innings this season into a road matchup with the White Sox next week.

Mize did not factor into the decision in Friday's 7-5 win over the Royals, allowing three runs on nine hits and one walk without recording a strikeout over 5.2 innings.

Mize was undone by a three-run third inning and was fortunate overall given he yielded 14 hard-hit balls while managing just three whiffs on 87 pitches. It was a letdown after the 28-year-old notched a season-high 10 punchouts Saturday, and he now sports a 5.34 ERA across six outings since the All-Star break. For the season, he carries a 3.68 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 103:30 K:BB over 117.1 innings and lines up for a road matchup with the Athletics next week.

Fried did not factor into the decision in Friday's 1-0 loss to the Red Sox, allowing four hits and three walks with seven strikeouts over six scoreless innings.

Fried racked up 19 whiffs on 99 pitches but got no help from the Yankees' offense. It was just his second quality start in six outings since the All-Star break. The southpaw will take a 3.14 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 148:40 K:BB across 155 innings into a home matchup with the Nationals next week.
