Strider (19-5) allowed four runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out four over 5.2 innings to earn the win in Game 2 of Sunday's doubleheader versus the Nationals.

Strider picked up his fourth win when allowing four or more runs this year. Despite not having his best stuff, he's now won three stars in a row, allowing eight runs over 19.2 innings with a 24:3 K:BB in that span. The Atlanta ace has a 3.81 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 274:55 K:BB through 181.2 innings over 31 starts this season. He should get a chance to be the only 20-win starter in MLB this year with one more projected start in the regular season, tentatively lined up to be at home against the Nationals.

Sanchez (3-5) allowed two runs on three hits and a walk over seven innings Sunday, striking out 10 and earning a win over the Mets.

Sanchez kept the Mets off the board until Ronny Mauricio belted a two-run shot in the sixth inning. Sanchez forced 20 whiffs for the second time this month; prior to racking up 21 swinging strikes against Atlanta on Sept. 13, his season high was just 12. He's been shaky since the start of August, posting a 4.24 ERA in nine starts, but he's recorded a strong 54:8 K:BB during that stretch. Sanchez will carry a 3.48 ERA into his next start, which is currently lined up to be on the road against the Mets.

Lorenzen struck out one batter in a perfect inning and earned a save against the Mets on Sunday.

Lorenzen was blasted for four runs while recording just one out in his first appearance out of the bullpen Sept. 19 but rebounded with his first save since 2021 on Sunday. He posted an ugly 7.96 ERA over his last five starts before being shifted to the bullpen. It's unclear exactly what role the Phillies intend to use Lorenzen in moving forward and in the postseason. He owns a 4.26 ERA through 150 innings and a 5.89 ERA in 44.1 frames with Philadelphia.

Wacha (13-4) yielded two runs on six hits and a walk over seven innings Sunday, striking out six and picking up a win over St. Louis.

Wacha rolled through six shutout frames before the Cardinals finally broke through with two runs in the seventh inning. The Padres had already provided 12 runs of support before then. Wacha earned his second straight win and lowered his season ERA to 3.39 across 127.1 frames. However, he owns a 5.54 ERA in five September outings. Wacha is projected to close out his 2023 season with a road start against the White Sox.

Rom (1-4) allowed eight runs (six earned) on 11 hits and a walk over 3.1 innings Sunday, striking out four and taking a loss against San Diego.

Rom served up a three-run shot to Juan Soto in the first frame and allowed at least one run in each inning he appeared in. After his first career scoreless start, Rom has been tagged with 11 earned runs in just 6.2 innings over his last two outings. His ERA has shot up to 7.98 through 29.1 MLB frames. Rom is currently lined up to finish his 2023 campaign with a home matchup against the Reds.

Cabrera (7-7) earned the win Sunday against Milwaukee, allowing one run on five hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out five.

After struggling in a recent outing against the Brewers on Sept. 12 in which he allowed six walks, Cabrera displayed much better control and was able to secure the win Sunday. Since being recalled Sept. 6, the 25-year-old pitcher has a 1.89 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 22:10 K:BB in 19 innings over four starts. He has allowed two or fewer walks in three of those four outings. Cabrera's last start of the season is currently scheduled to be on the road against Pittsburgh.

Peralta (12-10) took the loss Sunday, allowing four runs on nine hits and no walks over three innings against Miami. He struck out four.

The Marlins peppered Peralta for nine hits, equaling his season high last given up April 15 against San Diego. The results Sunday were highly unusual as the Brewers starting pitcher had produced a 2.42 ERA, 0.79 WHIP and 99:16 K:BB over 70.2 innings in the second half before this outing. Perhaps the Marlins were able to take advantage of Peralta's average fastball velocity sitting at 93.5 mph, down a tick from its normal 94.5 mph. He'll look to bounce back in his final start of the season, currently scheduled to be at home against the Cubs.

Winans (1-2) allowed two runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out six over five innings, taking the loss in Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader versus the Nationals.

Winans did fine in this outing, but Atlanta's offense didn't supply enough run support. He's kept opponents to two runs or fewer in four of his five major-league starts this season. The right-hander is at a 4.33 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 32:6 K:BB through 27 innings. With Charlie Morton (finger) on the injured list, Winans may be able to pick up one more start in the regular season, which would be tentatively set as a rematch at home against the Nationals.

Rutledge (1-1) allowed a run on three hits and two walks while striking out four over five innings to earn the win in Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader versus Atlanta.

Rutledge turned in a second straight solid performance, keeping Atlanta's high-powered offense in check. After allowing seven runs over 3.2 innings in his debut, he's given up just three runs across his last 11.1 innings. The right-hander also sports an 8:4 K:BB at the major-league level this year. Rutledge is tentatively lined up for one more outing, which would be a rematch in Atlanta next weekend.

Gallen (17-8) earned the win Sunday, allowing three hits and two walks over six scoreless innings against the Yankees. He struck out eight.

It was an impressive performance from Gallen after he was tagged for 10 earned runs over 10 innings in his previous two outings. He's now second in the league with 17 wins as he lowered his ERA to 3.49 with a 1.11 WHIP and 213 strikeouts through 33 starts (203.2 innings) this season. Gallen will look to cap a strong regular season on a high note in his next start, currently scheduled for next week against Houston.
