Carrasco (3-4) yielded five runs on 10 hits and two walks over 2.1 innings Sunday, striking out two and taking a loss against Boston.

The Red Sox caught fire in the third inning, poking six straight hits against Carrasco and forcing him out of the game after just 58 pitches. In his final three starts before the All-Star break, he gave up just four runs in 17 frames. However, he's been charged with nine runs over seven innings since then. The veteran righty has watched his season ERA balloon to 5.82 with a 50:31 K:BB through 14 starts. Carrasco's next outing is currently lined up to be at home against the Nationals.

Taillon (4-6) allowed one run on seven hits across 5.2 innings to earn the win Sunday against the Cardinals. He walked one and struck out six.

It's mostly been a lost season for Taillon, though he's been better lately. Over his last three starts, he's allowed just four earned runs across 19.1 innings, picking up two wins in the process, including Sunday in the comfortable 7-2 Chicago victory. The righty's overall ERA is still an unsightly 5.75, but it looks like he's trending in the right direction. Taillon will aim to keep his momentum going in his next outing, which is projected to come Saturday against this same St. Louis squad.

Sheehan (3-1) allowed eight runs on eight hits and five walks while striking out four over 3.2 innings to take the loss Sunday versus the Rangers.

There's only one positive to take out of this -- Sheehan avoided allowing a home run. Beyond that, it was the worst start of his young career against arguably the most dangerous offense he's faced so far, though the Rangers were missing Corey Seager and Adolis Garcia from the lineup. Sheehan has given up at least four runs in each of his three outings in July after allowing just five total runs over 17 innings in his first three career starts. Sheehan has a 6.75 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 22:16 K:BB through 29.1 innings overall. He's tentatively lined up for a home start versus the Reds next weekend, but he could be at risk of losing his place in the rotation if the Dodgers pursue starting pitchers at the trade deadline.

Gore (6-7) earned the win Sunday, allowing four hits and two walks over five scoreless innings against the Giants. He struck out eight.

Gore was sharp Sunday, scattering four hits en route to his third win in his last five starts. The 24-year-old southpaw has tallied eight or more strikeouts six times this season. Gore lowered his ERA to 4.37 with a 1.44 WHIP and 122:43 K:BB through 20 starts (101 innings) this year. He's currently lined up to face the Mets on the road in his next outing.

Teheran allowed a run on three hits and struck out five without walking a batter over six innings in a no-decision versus Atlanta on Sunday.

Teheran was tagged for 17 runs over 16.1 innings across his last three starts, a stark downturn compared to his impressive work to begin his Milwaukee tenure. He was back in solid form with his fifth quality start of the year, and against a dangerous offense to boot. The right-hander is now at a 3.75 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 40:11 K:BB through 57.2 innings over 10 starts this season. He's on track to get another look at Atlanta's lineup in a road rematch next weekend.

Elder allowed two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out two over six innings in a no-decision versus Milwaukee on Sunday.

After allowing seven runs in each of his last two starts, Elder was able to get himself back on track. He allowed a solo home run to Brice Turang in this contest, which was the fourth homer Elder's given up in his last three outings. He's surrendered just 12 long balls all season. The 24-year-old is at a 3.30 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 86:37 K:BB through 114.2 innings over 20 starts this season. Elder is projected for a rematch with the Brewers in Atlanta in his next start.

Chirinos will serve as a starter for Atlanta, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

Chirinos was claimed off waivers by Atlanta on Sunday, and the team sent Michael Soroka to the minors as part of a corresponding move. Max Fried (forearm) will also make another rehab start this week, so Chirinos will have an opportunity to showcase his skills as a starter. The right-hander made 15 appearances (four starts) for the Rays earlier this year and posted a 4.02 ERA and 1.24 WHIP in 62.2 innings.

Soroka was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett on Sunday.

Soroka had inconsistent results after rejoining Atlanta in late June, as he posted a 4.12 ERA and 1.27 WHIP in 19.2 innings over four appearances (three starts). He gave up four runs in six innings during Friday's game in Milwaukee but will head back to the minors after Atlanta claimed Yonny Chirinos off waivers Sunday.

Priester is scheduled to start Monday's game against the Padres in San Diego.

Priester was roughed up for seven earned runs on seven hits and two walks in his MLB debut July 17 against Cleveland, but he was at least able to save the Pirates' bullpen to some degree by covering 5.1 innings. Despite the poor showing last week, Priester will get another chance to prove he's worthy of sticking around as the Bucs' No. 5 starter. He'll return to the hill Monday on six days' rest.

Chirinos was claimed off waivers by Atlanta on Sunday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Chirinos was designated for assignment by Tampa Bay on Monday and will now join the team with the best record in baseball. The right-hander worked as a swingman for the Rays and had a 4.02 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 31:20 K:BB across 62.2 innings, though he surrendered 18 earned runs in his past 24.1 frames before being DFA'd. Max Fried (forearm) is closing in on his return from the injured list, so Chirinos seems likely to start out in the bullpen with his new organization.
