Imanaga didn't factor into the decision against the Rays on Sunday, allowing three runs on seven hits while striking out nine over five innings.

The left-hander got off to a rough start, surrendering back-to-back solo homers to Yandy Diaz and Junior Caminero to open the game before giving up another run on a two-out bunt in the third. Though he labored through a 31-pitch first inning and surpassed 60 pitches by the third, Imanaga was able to regroup, finding his command and striking out nine -- tying his season high -- while blanking Tampa Bay over his final two frames. Home runs remain a concern for the 32-year-old, who allowed 27 last season and has given up 26 this year through 39 fewer innings. Imanaga will carry a 3.29 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 110:23 K:BB across 134 innings into his next scheduled start against the Reds.

Whisenhunt (back) is expected to throw a couple innings in a rehab appearance Tuesday with Triple-A Sacramento, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Whisenhunt was placed on the 15-day injured list Aug. 31 due to a back strain but won't require a lengthy stay on the shelf. After completing a bullpen session Sunday that incorporated all of his pitches, Whisenhunt will make an abbreviated rehab appearance Tuesday before potentially rejoining the Giants next weekend. San Francisco has been getting by of late with Kai-Wei Teng and Carson Seymour as its back-end starters, but Whisenhunt could replace either pitcher in the rotation once he's activated.

McLean did not factor in the decision during Sunday's extra-inning win over Texas. He allowed five hits and two walks while striking out seven over six scoreless innings.

McLean worked around a few light threats to deliver another stellar performance. He's given up two or fewer runs in each of his first six career MLB outings, with four of those being quality starts. The only criticism at the moment would be the eight walks he's issued over his last 17.1 frames. McLean now owns a terrific 1.19 ERA with a 40:12 K:BB through 37.2 innings. He's lined up for a nice home matchup against Washington next weekend.

Senga is expected to make another start at Triple-A Syracuse during the upcoming week, Will Sammon and Tim Britton of The Athletic report.

After accepting a demotion to the minors Sept. 5 following a string of poor outings, Senga shined in his first start with Syracuse this past Friday, striking out eight batters over six innings while allowing one earned run on three hits and no walks. Unless the Mets place a player on a reserve list and recall Senga in a corresponding move, however, the right-hander won't be eligible to join the big club until Sept. 20. With that in mind, he'll stick around at Triple-A and will presumably stay on his typical five days' rest schedule to make his next start Thursday. If all goes well in that outing, Senga will likely rejoin the Mets for the final week of the regular season, but his exact role remains in flux. The Mets are already planning on using Sean Manaea in a piggyback role behind starter Clay Holmes on Tuesday against the Padres as the team transitions from a six-man rotation to a five-man setup during the upcoming week, and Senga could be deployed in a similar capacity as Manaea upon his return to the big club. Rookie Jonah Tong has struggled with both his command and control in his last two starts and may benefit from being used in a tandem when Senga is recalled, if Senga doesn't replace Tong in the rotation outright.

Mazur (0-4) allowed two unearned runs on one hit and two walks over six innings Sunday, striking out four and taking a loss against Detroit.

Mazur coughed up a pair of runs in the second inning due to two errors by his defense. He then retired 13 of the last 14 batters he faced to deliver his first quality start of the year. He had given up at least four runs in three of his last four starts, but he dropped his season ERA from 6.30 to 4.85 after Sunday's performance. Mazur has posted a 17:10 K:BB through 26 innings and has yet to strike out more than five batters in an outing. He's currently lined up for a road matchup with the Rangers next weekend.

Marquez (3-14) allowed seven runs (six earned) on nine hits and two walks while failing to record a strikeout over 2.1 innings, taking the loss Sunday versus the Padres.

Marquez's last two starts have come on the road, but he's allowed a combined 12 runs (11 earned) over 7.1 innings in those games. The right-hander gave up three runs in each of the first two frames and continued to labor before Roansy Contreras relieved him in the third. On the year, Marquez has an awful 6.65 ERA, 1.76 WHIP and 77:44 K:BB through 115 innings over 24 starts. He's tentatively projected for a home start versus the Angels in his next outing.

Darvish (4-5) allowed three runs on four hits and struck out five without walking a batter over five-plus innings to earn the win over the Rockies on Sunday.

Darvish had a sharp start through five frames, but he put on a pair of runners in the sixth, and Jeremiah Estrada wasn't able to prevent them from scoring. It was still a positive performance, as Darvish earned his first win since Aug. 22 versus the Dodgers, though he's allowed at least three runs in five of his last six outings. Darvish is at a 5.63 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 60:17 K:BB through 62.1 innings across 13 starts this season. His next outing is projected to be a road start versus the White Sox.

Mikolas (8-10) earned the win Sunday at Milwaukee, yielding two runs on five hits and no walks over five innings with five strikeouts.

The grizzled veteran continued his recent run of success, as he's pitched to a respectable 2.57 ERA and 1.00 WHIP across 21 innings over his last four outings. Both runs Mikolas conceded came by way of the long ball, with both Caleb Durbin and Danny Jansen popping solo shots off the St. Louis starter. Through 146.1 total frames, Mikolas has produced a 4.80 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 93:34 K:BB while coughing up 26 homers. The 37-year-old is currently slated for a rematch with the Brewers at home next weekend for his next turn in the rotation.

Soroka (shoulder) is expected to be activated from the 15-day injured list at some point during the Cubs' upcoming seven-game road trip that begins Monday, Bruce Levine of 670TheScore.com reports.

Soroka has been on the shelf since early August after straining his right shoulder in his Cubs debut Aug. 4. The right-hander was cleared to rejoin the big club afte he made a lone rehab appearance with Triple-A Iowa on Thursday, giving up one run on a solo homer while striking out three batters over 2.1 innings. The right-hander reached only 38 total pitches in that outing, so the Cubs are presumably preparing him to serve as a multi-inning reliever rather than as a starter.

Manaea is expected to work out of the bullpen behind starter Clay Holmes in Tuesday's game against the Padres, Will Sammon and Tim Britton of The Athletic report.

The veteran left-hander said he was available in relief for Sunday's win over the Rangers, but he didn't make an appearance and is now poised to piggyback Holmes on Tuesday. Manaea gave up exactly one run in each of his first four outings after missing the first half of the season due to elbow and oblique injuries, but he's struggled to a 7.71 ERA despite a 42:6 K:BB in his past seven starts. Depending on how Tuesday's game unfolds, Manaea could end up piggybacking Holmes again in next Sunday's contest versus the Nationals.
