Ashcraft (3-6) took the loss against Atlanta on Saturday, allowing six runs on 10 hits and striking out two batters over four-plus innings.

Ashcraft faced a tough test in his return from a stint on the injured list due to a calf injury, and he was unable to contain Atlanta's potent offense. The right-hander served up a season-high three homers and yielded 10 total hits for the third time this year. Ashcraft hasn't pitched more than four innings in any of his three starts in June, giving up 19 earned runs in 10.2 frames during the month. His ERA now sits at an ugly 7.17 on the campaign.

Peralta (5-7) took the loss Saturday, allowing three runs on four hits and three walks over five innings against the Guardians. He struck out five.

Peralta picked up his seventh loss of the campaign, marking six starts since recording his last victory. Though he owns the seventh-most losses in MLB, Peralta has given up more than four earned runs in just two of his 16 starts thus far. After 81.1 innings, Peralta holds a 4.65 ERA and 1.33 WHIP to go along with a 1.5 HR/9 and a 2.7 K/BB. He'll have a solid chance to pick up a win in his next start, which is expected to come against a Mets team that has lost 14 of its last 19 contests.

Shuster allowed four runs on seven hits and struck out two batters over 3.2 innings in a no-decision against Cincinnati on Saturday.

Shuster got through a scoreless first inning but yielded at least one run in each of the remaining frames in which he pitched. The rookie southpaw was dinged for multiple homers for the first time as a big-leaguer and tallied a career-low 3.2 innings. Shuster also continued to struggle in the strikeout column -- he's fanned two or fewer batters in each of his past four starts. Though Shuster has shown some flashes in his first MLB campaign, he's not much of an asset in redraft leagues given his poor 25:22 K:BB and 5.00 ERA over 45 innings.

Waldron (0-1) allowed two runs on four hits and a walk while striking out two over 4.2 innings, taking the loss Saturday versus the Nationals.

Waldron held his own in his big-league debut, but two of the four hits he allowed were solo home runs to Jeimer Candelario and Lane Thomas. It's unclear if this will lead to additional starts for Waldron, who is the only knuckleballer active in the majors. He pitched to a 7.02 ERA with Triple-A El Paso. If he doesn't get another start, Waldron will likely be back in the minors in the near future.

Gray (5-6) allowed four hits and four walks while striking out six over 5.1 shutout innings to earn the win Saturday over the Padres.

Gray had allowed four or more runs in three of his last four outings. He didn't have his best stuff Saturday, throwing 58 of 99 pitches for strikes, but he successfully limited the damage to earn his first win since May 21. The 25-year-old right-hander has a lofty 4.2 BB/9, but he's been able to counter that fairly well with a 3.43 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 78:42 K:BB over 89.1 innings through 16 starts this year. Gray is projected for another road start next week in Philadelphia.

Stoudt will start Sunday against Atlanta, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Stoudt will be recalled from Triple-A Louisville to pitch against Atlanta in the series finale. The right-hander has been ineffective in his two appearances with Cincinnati thus far in 2023 with a 10.29 ERA and 2.14 WHIP over seven innings. Stoudt could make multiple appearances for the Reds due to injuries, but there's as much risk as there is reward -- if not more -- in his profile for 2023.

The Padres selected Waldron's contract from Triple-A El Paso on Saturday ahead of his start against Washington.

The 26-year-old knuckleballer hasn't exactly been outstanding in Triple-A this season with a 7.02 ERA and 1.65 WHIP, but his unique arsenal of pitches could be enough to throw big-league hitters off their game a bit. Ray Kerr was optioned to El Paso in a corresponding move.

Steele (8-2) allowed one run on five hits across six innings to earn the win Saturday against the Cardinals. He walked one and struck out eight.

The Cubs jumped out to a 7-0 lead in London and that was more than enough for Steele, who picked up his second straight win since returning from the injured list due to a forearm strain. The lefty is building on last season's breakout campaign, as he now has a stellar 2.62 ERA and 1.06 WHIP across 79 innings this season. Steele will look to keep rolling in his next outing toward the end of next week once the team returns from across the pond.

Syndergaard (finger) threw a bullpen session and faced live hitters Saturday, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Syndergaard landed on the injured list June 8 with a blister on his right index finger. The plan was to go slow with Syndergaard's rehab process so that he could mentally reset after beginning the season with a 7.16 ERA and 1.45 WHIP through 55.1 frames. The Dodgers haven't indicated whether or not they plan on sending the veteran pitcher on a rehab assignment, but it appears Syndergaard is entering the home stretch of his recovery.

The Marlins are considering pausing Perez following his scheduled start next weekend against Atlanta, Craig Mish of the Miami Herald reports.

Nothing is set in stone just yet, but it appears the Marlins are looking to give Perez an extended rest period heading into the All-Star break. The 20-year-old rookie has been phenomenal since arriving in the majors, recording a 1.54 ERA and 1.00 WHIP with a 45:14 K:BB through 41 frames. With 72 innings pitched between Triple-A and the majors this season, Perez is quickly approaching the most innings he's ever thrown in a season (78).
