Cueto (biceps/ankle) has resumed playing catch, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Cueto was in "no throw" mode last week, but the right-hander is now able to at least play catch while he recovers from a sprained ankle on top of the right biceps injury that has bothered him since the start of the year. He will likely need to make a couple of rehab starts before he's ready to join the Marlins' rotation, although with Eury Perez now in the majors it's not clear if there will be room for the 37-year-old Cueto.

An MRI revealed no structural damage in Stripling's back, and he'll be re-evaluated over the weekend, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Stripling was placed on the injured list with a lower-back strain. He's eligible to return to the Giants at the start of June, and the fact that no structural damage was found could give him a shot at returning in the minimum amount of time.

Carrasco (elbow) was activated from the 15-day injured list Friday.

As expected, Carrasco will rejoin the Mets rotation after missing over a month due to a bone spur in his elbow. He threw only 52 pitches in his final minor-league rehab start Sunday with Double-A Binghamton, and while that was enough to cover four scoreless frames, he could see a limited workload in his return.

Miley (lat/rib) is likely to be sidelined 6-8 weeks, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Miley was placed on the injured list Wednesday and has been diagnosed with a posterior serratus strain around the left side of his rib cage. The best-case scenario calls for him to return to Milwaukee's starting rotation by the end of June. He had registered a 3.67 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 24:9 K:BB through 41.2 innings (eight starts) this season.

Morton will get extra rest and make his next start Monday against the Dodgers, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Morton had been lined up to work Saturday's game against the Mariners, but that is now listed as a TBA spot for Atlanta. The veteran right-hander racked up a season-high 10 strikeouts across 6.2 scoreless frames in his last turn this past Monday versus the Rangers and boasts a 2.85 ERA with 49 strikeouts through 47.1 total innings (eight starts) this year.

Williamson will make his second major-league start Monday at home against the Cardinals, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Williamson looked sharp in his debut for the Reds this past Tuesday versus the Rockies, tallying six strikeouts over 5.2 innings of one-run ball. St. Louis has picked it up offensively, but the 25-year-old left-hander might be worthy of streaming consideration given Tuesday's results and his prospect pedigree.

Quintana (ribs) has been cleared to begin throwing off a mound Saturday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

The southpaw got good news from the Mets' medical staff following a CT scan Friday and told reporters that he now has the "green light" to begin building up toward his 2023 debut. Quintana required bone-graft surgery in March after a stress fracture in his rib cage revealed a benign tumor. He could be ready to join the rotation by the end of June if his recovery goes well.

The Rockies placed Marquez (elbow) on the 60-day injured list Friday.

Marquez underwent Tommy John surgery last week, so a trip to the 60-day IL was inevitable. He will be shut down for the rest of the season and likely won't return until the back half of the 2024 campaign, although it's not entirely clear who he might be pitching for by then -- the Rockies hold a $16 million club option for 2023 on Marquez, which they could decline even if they then end up re-signing him to a more team-friendly deal.

The Rockies selected Kauffmann's contract from Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday.

Kauffmann will make his major-league debut Friday against the Rangers. The 25-year-old righty holds a 7.78 ERA and 1.78 WHIP through 37 innings in Triple-A across eight starts, and he's unlikely to offer much fantasy relevance. To make room for Kauffmann on the roster, the Rockies optioned Riley Pint to Albuquerque on Wednesday and transferred German Marquez (elbow) to the 60-day injured list Friday.

Stripling was placed on the 15-day injured list with a low-back strain by the Giants on Friday.

Stripling had to be lifted from his last start early with the issue and now it has forced him to the IL. He'll be eligible to return in early June, though it's not certain at this point when he'll be ready, nor is it clear whether he'll be in the rotation or bullpen when he does come back.
