Roansy Contreras SP | COL
Pirates' Roansy Contreras: Knocked around in loss
Contreras (1-1) took the loss Monday, allowing seven runs on nine hits and four walks over 3.1 innings against the Astros. He struck out three.
Contreras was unable to get into any sort of rhythm with the Astros' offense jumping all over him from the beginning. He surrendered one run in the first inning, three in the second, one in the third and two in the fourth before departing a 7-1 game. Monday's outing was a much different story for Contreras, who held Boston to one run on three hits, a walk and a pair of strikeouts over 5.2 frames in his first start of 2023.

Yu Darvish SP | SD
Padres' Yu Darvish: Tagged with five runs
Darvish (0-1) allowed five runs on six hits and a walk over 6.1 innings Monday, striking out five and taking a loss against the Mets.
The veteran righty coughed up a two-run double to Jeff McNeil in the third inning. That was the only damage against Darvish until the Mets plated three runs in the seventh. It's been a rocky start for him in 2023; he's given up six runs with an 8:5 K:BB through 11.1 frames. Darvish is projected for another tough matchup next week with a home outing against Atlanta.

Kyle Wright SP | CHC
Braves' Kyle Wright: Will take mound Tuesday
Wright (shoulder) will be activated from the 15-day injured list to start Tuesday's game against the Reds, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.
It was reported earlier in the day that Wright remained on track to make his season debut Tuesday, and this news simply confirms his return. The right-hander posted a 3.19 ERA and 1.16 WHIP with a 174:53 K:BB across 180.1 frames a season ago.

Sandy Alcantara SP | MIA
Marlins' Sandy Alcantara: Hammered by Phillies
Alcantara (1-1) allowed nine runs on 10 hits and a walk over four innings Monday, striking out four and taking a loss against Philadelphia.
Alcantara looked like his usual self early and worked through two perfect innings to start the game. The Phillies then jumped on him for five runs in the third inning before tagging him with four more in the fifth. Alcantara tossed 77 pitches and forced just five whiffs on 36 swings. His ERA ballooned to 5.79 with an 11:6 K:BB through 18.2 frames. He's lined up for a home start against Arizona this weekend.

German Marquez SP | SD
Rockies' German Marquez: Pulled with forearm injury
Marquez was removed from Monday's start against the Cardinals due to an apparent forearm injury, Patrick Lyons of TheDNVR.com reports. He allowed two runs on three hits and struck out four over 5.0 innings prior to exiting.
Marquez was examined by the team trainers at the start of the sixth inning prior to leaving the contest. The extent of the injury is unclear, so he'll be considered day-to-day until the team has time to evaluate him further.

Ryan Pepiot RP | TB
Dodgers' Ryan Pepiot: Yet to resume throwing
Pepiot (oblique) has not yet been cleared to throw, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.
The team noted nearly one week ago that Pepiot could get the green light to pick up a baseball within the next week, but he's yet to be cleared. Assuming he'll need to toss a few bullpen sessions and be sent out on a rehab assignment, it's looking more likely that the right-hander won't be activated from the 15-day IL until May.

Tony Gonsolin SP | KC
Dodgers' Tony Gonsolin: Timeline bumped to May
Gonsolin (ankle) isn't expected to make a return until sometime in May, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Gonsolin has been throwing bullpen sessions while traveling with the team, but his skipper's latest update isn't exactly what fantasy managers want to hear. Per Harris, the Dodgers expect it to be another 2-to-3 weeks until Gonsolin is cleared to go out on a rehab assignment, and he'll likely need at least a few appearances in the minors before being activated from the 15-day injured list.

Kyle Hendricks SP | LAA
Cubs' Kyle Hendricks: Throwing live BP on Friday
Hendricks (shoulder) completed a bullpen session Monday and is scheduled to throw live batting practice Friday, Patrick Mooney of The Athletic reports.
Hendricks continues to progress in his recovery from a right shoulder strain. He should be nearing game action if all goes well during his live BP session Friday, though he'll likely need at least a few rehab appearances before being activated from the 15-day injured list.

Kyle Wright SP | CHC
Braves' Kyle Wright: In line to start Tuesday
Wright (shoulder) remains on track to return from the 15-day injured list to start Tuesday's game against the Reds in Atlanta, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.
Atlanta hasn't yet confirmed that Wright will take the hill Tuesday, but he's back with the big club after covering six innings and striking out six while allowing five earned runs in his rehab start with Triple-A Gwinnett last Wednesday. Though Atlanta might have wanted to see a slightly better result from Wright in the rehab outing, his right shoulder seems to have checked out fine following the start, and perhaps most importantly, he was able to stretch out to 84 pitches. Even if he's still a bit rusty coming off the injury, Wright's addition should be a welcome one for an Atlanta rotation that's without ace Max Fried (hamstring) and has gotten poor results overall from young arms Dylan Dodd and Jared Shuster thus far.

Joe Musgrove SP | SD
Padres' Joe Musgrove: Gets cortisone shot in shoulder
Musgrove (toe) was given a cortisone shot in his right shoulder after falling on the area in the midst of a fielding play during his rehab start last week, Dennis Lin of The Athletic reports.
Musgrove is feeling better and could play catch as soon as Tuesday, but it's touch-and-go based on how he progresses. The right-hander had already been slated to make one more rehab start before joining the Padres' rotation and now his timetable will be pushed back a bit. Musgrove initially went on the injured list with a fractured toe suffered back in late February during a weight room mishap.
