Feltner (2-5) took the loss against the Mets on Thursday, allowing three runs on six hits and two walks while striking out two batters over 4.2 innings.

Feltner gave up three runs in the third inning, and that was enough to seal his fate on a night when Jacob deGrom was his usual dominant self. The big blow against Feltner was a Pete Alonso two-run home run in the third inning, marking the fifth straight game in which the hurler has served up a long ball. Feltner has completed six innings only once in six outings since rejoining the big-league staff in late July, and he has a 5.53 ERA and 1.52 WHIP during that stretch.

DeGrom (3-1) earned the win over Colorado on Thursday, pitching six innings and allowing one run on three hits and one walk while striking out nine batters.

DeGrom served up a sixth-inning solo home run to Ryan McMahon, but that was the extent of the damage against him. The right-hander racked up 17 swinging strikes and nine punchouts while notching his third straight quality start. DeGrom has yet to reach 100 pitches in a game this season -- he threw 87 on Thursday -- but that hasn't held him back from recording plenty of strikeouts or from entering the win column. Through five starts, he has three wins while posting a 2.15 ERA and minuscule 0.55 WHIP along with a jaw-dropping 46:2 K:BB over 29.1 innings.

Stroman (3-6) allowed five earned runs on 11 hits and two walks while striking out one across five innings to take the loss Thursday against the Cardinals.

Stroman didn't allow a home run, but he had two disastrous innings to sink his outing. He allowed five of the first six batters he faced to reach base to begin the game. Three frames later, he surrendered four consecutive one-out singles. Stroman has pitched well for long stretches this season, but he's now coughed up at least five earned runs in four of his 18 starts. That has inflated his ERA to 4.10 across 96.2 innings for the season.

Dunn (1-2) took the loss Thursday, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks over six innings against Philadelphia. He struck out five.

Dunn surrendered a solo home run from outfielder Kyle Schwarber in the third to give the Phillies the game's first run. This was the fourth start of 2022 for the righty, and it was the first time he pitched more than five innings. The 26-year-old has allowed three hits or more and two walks or more in each of his four outings.

Nola (9-10) earned the win Thursday, allowing zero runs on five hits over nine innings against the Reds. He struck out 11.

Nola allowed only one extra-base hit in his stellar performance - a double off the bat of outfielder TJ Friedl. The righty has turned in an outstanding August, boasting a 2.25 ERA in 28 innings over four starts. The 29-year-old is far better away from Philadelphia with a 2.13 ERA and four home runs allowed in 84.1 innings compared to a 4.04 ERA and 12 home runs allowed in 82.1 innings at home.

Falter is expected to start Friday's game against the Pirates, Jim Salisbury of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.

Falter started the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Mets and allowed a run on two hits and two walks while striking out three in six innings to earn the win. Although he was sent back to the minors, he'll rejoin the Phillies to start on normal rest Friday after Zack Wheeler (forearm) was placed on the 15-day injured list Thursday.

Wheeler was placed on the 15-day injured list with right forearm tendinitis Thursday, retroactive to Aug. 22.

Wheeler struggled late in his start against the Mets on Saturday and has now given up 10 runs in 11.1 innings over his last two starts to take back-to-back losses. His injury may have contributed to his struggles, and he'll now have additional time to recover after landing on the injured list. Bailey Falter is expected to start on normal rest Friday against the Pirates to take Wheeler's place in the rotation. Wheeler is eligible to return as early as Sept. 6, and the Phillies hope that he'll be able to rejoin the active roster after missing just two turns through the rotation, according to Todd Zolecki of MLB.com.

The Mets will call up Peterson from Triple-A Syracuse to have him to start Saturday's game against the Rockies at Citi Field, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Because he was designated as the Mets' 27th man in advance of his start in the second game of last Saturday's doubleheader with the Phillies, Peterson had to be returned to the minors following the outing in what amounted to a procedural move. The Mets will still need to make a corresponding transaction to bring Peterson back this weekend, but he'll be stepping into the rotation on a slightly longer-term basis while Carlos Carrasco (oblique) is on the injured list. Peterson owns a 3.44 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 97:40 K:BB across 83.2 innings in the majors this season.

Sanchez (2-1) earned the win Wednesday, allowing three runs on six hits over six innings against the Reds. He struck out seven.

Sanchez allowed solo home runs to outfielder Stuart Fairchild to open the scoring in the second and shortstop Kyle Farmer in the fourth. This was the lefty's eleventh outing in the major leagues this season but only his third start. The 25-year-old has surrendered three runs or fewer in all three starts and pitched five innings or more in two of them. In addition, he enjoys a 2.60 ERA and 0.87 WHIP in 17.1 innings over his last six outings.

Houser (4-9) took the loss against the Dodgers on Wednesday, allowing five runs on five hits and four walks while striking out four batters over 2.1 innings.

Houser returned from a stay on the injured list to make his first start in nearly two months, but the outing did not go well. The right-hander needed 81 pitches to retire just seven batters, and he was down 4-1 by the end of the first inning. Houser's wildness was partly to blame for the poor opening frame -- he walked the first two batters he faced and issued three free passes overall in the inning -- but things weren't working much better when he did get the ball over the plate. Houser has registered a 5.15 ERA over 16 starts this season, but he may stick in the rotation for now with Aaron Ashby (shoulder) on the injured list.
