Flaherty (shoulder) allowed two hits and a walk while striking out four over three scoreless innings in his rehab start for Double-A Springfield on Tuesday.

Flaherty threw 34 of 52 pitches for strikes in the outing -- a vast improvement over his appearance with Triple-A Memphis last week. It's likely the right-hander will need at least one more rehab appearance before activation, which should allow him to build up his pitch count to 60-65. He may still have workload restrictions upon activation from the injured list.

Kelly registered a no-decision during Tuesday's 2-1 loss to San Francisco, allowing four hits and two walks with seven strikeouts in seven scoreless innings.

Kelly outdueled San Francisco starter Jakob Junis through seven innings, but Arizona closer Ian Kennedy served up a Brandon Crawford walkoff homer to erase a potential win. Despite surrendering just five runs in 26 innings across his last four starts, the 33-year-old has failed to earn a win. Additionally, Kelly has struck out 26 batters during the stretch for an improved 9.0 K/9 compared to a 7.6 mark on the season. The righty carries a 2.81 ERA and 1.12 WHIP into his next start, scheduled to come at home against St. Louis on Sunday.

Freeland allowed three runs on seven hits, a walk and a hit batsman while striking out four over six innings in a no-decision versus the Cardinals on Tuesday.

Freeland was able to avoid giving up home runs to the Cardinals last Wednesday in Denver, but he struggled in that regard in St. Louis. He allowed less traffic on the bases Tuesday, but Tommy Edman and Paul Goldschmidt tagged him for a pair of homers, accounting for all three runs on the southpaw's line. It'll still count as Freeland's third quality start in his last five outings. He has a 4.82 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 94:40 K:BB through 130.2 innings across 23 starts. The 29-year-old is projected for a home start versus the Giants this weekend.

Pepiot registered a no-decision during Tuesday's 5-4 loss to Milwaukee, allowing three runs on three hits and five walks with six strikeouts in 4.2 innings.

Making a second turn through the rotation, Pepiot found himself down two runs before recording an out, but he was able to limit the damage to a single run thereafter despite heavy traffic on the bases. The 24-year-old failed to record a 1-2-3 inning and walked two straight Brewers with two out in the fifth to prompt his removal. On a positive note, Pepiot recorded 13 swinging strikes on 91 pitches. Dustin May (elbow) is set to rejoin the rotation Saturday, likely pushing Pepiot and his 4.26 ERA to the bullpen or the minors.

Woodruff didn't factor into the decision during Tuesday's 5-4 win against the Dodgers, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks with eight strikeouts in five innings.

Woodruff was provided an early two-run lead and kept Los Angeles off the board until the fifth inning, when he surrendered solo shots to Joey Gallo and Mookie Betts. The 29-year-old fired 64 of 93 pitches for strikes, with 16 of the swinging variety, and struck out as many batters as he had in his previous two starts combined. The five innings pitched snapped Woodruff's quality start streak at four, though he should have a solid opportunity to begin a new streak with a tantalizing start against the Cubs tentatively lined up for Sunday.

Corbin did not factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing four runs on six hits and two walks over six innings in the Nationals' extra-innings loss vs the Cubs. He struck out three.

The Cubs got to Corbin a few times Tuesday, as he allowed runners to score in the second, fourth and sixth innings, but Corbin managed to finish the sixth and give the Nationals an opportunity to win the game. This was the southpaw's first start reaching the six-inning milestone since July 9 as he just completed a five-game stretch in which he allowed 26 runs to score over 15.2 innings. He is next scheduled to take on the newly-revamped Padres lineup this weekend.

Quintana allowed two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out three over five-plus innings, taking a no-decision versus the Rockies on Tuesday.

Quintana was limited to 75 pitches (49 strikes) after a 103-pitch outing in his previous start. He was responsible for both runs the Rockies cobbled together in the sixth inning, and they ultimately pulled ahead in the seventh to deny Quintana the win. The southpaw now has a 3.38 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 105:37 K:BB through 120 innings across 23 starts between the Pirates and Cardinals this year. He'll look for his second win as a Cardinal in his next start, tentatively projected for this weekend in Arizona.

Steele did not factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing one run on five hits and two walks over six innings against Washington. He struck out five.

In his second time facing the Nationals in as many starts, Steele recorded a quality start but failed to record the win. This time he was even better, holding the Nationals to just one unearned run which came across to score in the sixth inning. The mini streak of quality starts is a welcome sign for Steele as he had failed to do so in his previous three starts. He will take a 3.43 ERA into his next start, which is tentatively scheduled for Sunday against Milwaukee.

Cabrera struck out seven in four scoreless innings while allowing three hits, two walks and a hit batsman in a 4-3 win Tuesday against San Diego. He did not factor into the decision.

Cabrera wasn't as sharp as he had been in his previous two starts but still managed to hold the Padres scoreless. He needed 91 pitches to complete the four frames and was taken out before he could face the lineup a third time. Since returning from an elbow injury at the beginning of August, Cabrera has allowed a single run in 14.2 innings, striking out 21 and allowing just six singles. His next start will likely be early next week in Oakland.

Gibson (8-5) earned the victory Tuesday in Cincinnati, striking out 11 in six innings while allowing three runs on six hits.

Gibson struck out only 11 batters in his previous four starts combined, spanning 24.1 innings, but managed to punch out that many in just six innings Tuesday. Eleven of the 23 batters he faced were retired on strikes. The last time he struck out that many batters in a game was May 8, 2019, as a member of the Twins. He's recorded a quality start in six of his last seven outings, posting a 3.12 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 32:9 K:BB in 43.1 innings in that span.
