Wheeler didn't factor into the decision in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to Atlanta, giving up three runs on five hits and a walk over 6.1 innings. He struck out eight.

It looked like it might be a rough night for Wheeler after he served up back-to-back homers to Travis d'Arnaud and Matt Olson in the top of the first inning, but the right-hander settled in and delivered his ninth quality start of the season before exiting after 104 pitches (69 strikes). Since the beginning of May, Wheeler has posted a dazzling 2.02 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 76:11 K:BB through 62.1 innings over 10 starts.

Morton didn't factor into the decision in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Phillies, allowing two runs on seven hits and four walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out five.

The veteran right-hander ran up his pitch count by tying his season high in free passes and fell one out short of his third straight quality start, exiting after 102 pitches (61 strikes) with Atlanta ahead 3-2. Morton was denied his fifth win of the year when Dylan Lee stumbled in the seventh, however. Morton wraps up a June resurgence that has seen him post a 3.52 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 45:8 K:BB through 30.2 innings over his last five starts.

Corbin (4-10) recorded 12 strikeouts and gave up one run over eight innings to earn the win Tuesday against the Pirates. He allowed five hits and two walks.

The veteran left-hander delivered double-digit strikeouts for the first time since 2019, and he racked up an impressive 20 swinging strikes versus the Buccos. Corbin covered only 7.1 innings combined over his previous two outings, but he bounced back Tuesday with his most dominant start in years. The only damage against him came via a solo home run from Diego Castillo during the sixth inning.

Woodruff (6-3) earned the win Tuesday in Tampa Bay, striking out 10 in five innings while allowing a run on two hits.

Woodruff (hand) was making his first start since going on the injured list May 30, and he was masterful in his return. The righty struck out seven of the first nine batters he faced and retired the Rays in order over the first three innings. Both hits he allowed came in the fourth inning, leading to Tampa Bay's lone run against him. After some struggles to begin the season, Woodruff appeared to have found his way in his last three starts before going on the IL, and Tuesday he picked up where he left off. He has allowed five runs over his last 20 innings while posting a 26:3 K:BB.

Carrasco (8-4) took the loss Tuesday against Houston, allowing six runs on six hits and three walks while striking out four in 4.1 innings.

Houston got off to a great start against Carrasco, scoring four times in the first inning with the big blow being Kyle Tucker's three-run blast. He allowed a baserunner in both the second and third but was able to induce inning-ending double plays both times. The Astros tacked on another run in the fourth and, after allowing a one-out single in the fifth, Carrasco was removed. It has been a rough couple of weeks for the 35-year-old as he's allowed 19 runs and seven homers in 17.2 innings over his last four starts.

Davies was placed on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with right shoulder inflammation, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Davies presumably sustained the injury Saturday during his last start, when he gave up three runs (two earned) on five hits with two strikeouts and one walk over five innings. It's unclear exactly how long the 29-year-old is expected to be sidelined, though he'll be eligible to return from the injured list July 11.

Heaney (shoulder) has yet to resume a throwing program as of Monday, Juan Toribio and Manny Randhawa of MLB.com report.

When Heaney was placed on the 15-day injured list Friday with left shoulder inflammation, manager Dave Roberts expressed hope that the southpaw would miss only two turns through the rotation. The fact that Heaney isn't yet throwing doesn't mean he'll be in line for an extended stay on the IL, but it does lessen his chances of returning in the minimum 15 days. Until Heaney is activated from the IL, Mitch White should have a spot in Los Angeles' rotation.

Eder (elbow) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Friday for the first time since undergoing Tommy John surgery in September, MLB.com reports.

Eder's recovery from surgery appears to be on track thus far, but the Marlins are unlikely to have him pitch in anything other than simulated games before the minor-league season comes to a close. The 23-year-old lefty could be a candidate to get some innings in during the Arizona Fall League or instructional ball, but the Marlins' main focus will likely be in ensuring he's ready to go for spring training with no restrictions. Before getting surgery, Eder dazzled in his 15 starts at Double-A Pensacola, turning in a 1.77 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 99:27 K:BB across 71.1 innings.

Eflin (knee), who was placed on the injured list Tuesday, said he's hopeful that he'll be ready to rejoin the Phillies' active roster in the minimum 15 days, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

When speaking about his injury, Eflin noted that he's dealing with bruising under his right kneepad. Eflin had the same knee surgically repaired in September, but neither the pitcher nor the Phillies believe he'll require any sort of follow-up procedure as a result of the setback. According to Matt Gelb of The Athletic, the Phillies will look to keep Eflin off his feet for the next 5-to-7 days before he starts up his throwing program again. Philadelphia will call up Bailey Falter from Triple-A Lehigh Valley later this week to replace Eflin in the rotation.

Miley (shoulder) played catch Tuesday, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.

He was placed on the injured list June 11 with a shoulder strain. Miley is further behind in his throwing progression than Marcus Stroman (shoulder) or Drew Smyly (oblique), as he has not yet advanced to bullpen sessions or live batting practice.
