Morton (13-6) took the loss in Saturday's 2-0 defeat at the hands of the Giants, allowing two runs on four hits and three walks with three strikeouts in five innings.

Morton pitched OK Saturday but was stuck with the loss as Atlanta failed to score on the night. He didn't have his usual stuff, logging his lowest strikeout total since June 11 and most walks since July 22. The 37-year-old lines up to face the Diamondbacks on Thursday.

Wood did not factor into the decision in Saturday's 2-0 win over Atlanta, throwing three innings while allowing only one baserunner and recording four strikeouts.

Making his first start since Aug. 26 after a stint on the COVID IL, Wood se down nine of 10 Atlanta batters he faced. The 30-year-old lefty only tossed 37 pitches in his return and will continue to ramp up his workload in preparation for the postseason. Wood is set to start again versus Colorado on Friday.

Carrasco (1-3) was removed from Saturday's start against the Phillies due to a right thumb injury, Deesha Thosar of the New York Daily News reports. He took the loss after giving up two runs on five hits with five strikeouts and two walks across six innings.

Carrasco suffered the injury when he fouled off a pitch while batting during the fifth inning, though he retook the mound and completed one more frame. The 34-year-old threw 56 of 82 pitches for strikes, and the only damage against him came via a pair of solo homers from Jean Segura. It's unclear if the thumb issue will affect Carrasco's next turn through the rotation, which lines up for next weekend at Milwaukee.

Gray (7-8) allowed four runs on five hits and two walks with five strikeouts through six innings, taking the loss in Saturday's 5-1 defeat to the Dodgers.

Gray allowed a Trea Turner infield single and nothing more through four innings but was touched up for three runs in the fifth and another in the sixth before getting the hook. After pitching to a 1.80 ERA over his previous five starts, it's safe to say Gray won't be too pleased with how this outing ended. He'll look to rebound in his next appearance, which is tentatively set to come Thursday against the Nationals.

Wood (illness) was activated from the COVID-19 injured list ahead of his start against Atlanta on Saturday, Kerry Crowley of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Wood tested positive for the virus at the end of August and will rejoin San Francisco's rotation Saturday. The left-hander completed a simulated game Wednesday and will face some limitations is his first start back from the injured list.

Syndergaard (elbow) will throw another live batting practice session Sunday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Syndergaard threw 15-to-20 pitches in a live batting practice session Wednesday. However, it was reported that he was purposefully not throwing at his full velocity, with that potentially being the next step Syndergaard will take Sunday. Assuming things go well, he could restart a rehab assignment, though the Mets have not made any plans official to this point.

Gray will start Sunday against the Nationals, Nick Groke of The Athletic reports.

Gray was originally set to start Tuesday at Coors Field against the Dodgers. He'll get a better draw now, as he'll fill the rotation slot of Ryan Feltner, who was optioned Saturday. In two starts since returning from the injured list, Gray has allowed five earned runs across 10 innings -- good for a 4.50 ERA -- while racking up 15 strikeouts as opposed to just three walks.

Feltner was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque on Saturday.

Feltner was called up to make his major-league debut Sept. 5. He struggled in two starts with the Rockies, allowing eight earned runs across 6.1 innings. Jon Gray will move up in the rotation and start Sunday in Feltner's place, and Feltner's absence could allow Peter Lambert (elbow) to work as a starter to close the campaign.

Webb didn't factor into the decision Friday against Atlanta after tossing seven innings of two-run ball, allowing six hits and striking out nine.

Friday's outing was Webb's 10th quality start out of his last 11 appearances, and he continues to be a steady presence at the top of the rotation for San Francisco. Webb owns an excellent 2.20 ERA with a 0.99 WHIP, 9.8 K/9 and 1.4 BB/9 through 10 games since the beginning of August.

Buehler (14-4) took the loss against Cincinnati on Friday, pitching six innings and allowing three runs on six hits and two walks while striking out five.

Though the right-hander earned his MLB-leading 26th quality start, he was outdueled by opposing starter Luis Castillo and didn't appear to have his best stuff. Buehler held the Reds scoreless for four frames but was touched up for a run in the fifth and two in the sixth before departing. His numbers on the campaign still hold up to the best hurlers in the league -- Buehler has a 2.39 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 194:49 K:BB across 192 innings -- but he has faded a bit of late, posting a 6.19 ERA and losing twice in three September starts. He'll look to get back on track next week in a start against Colorado.
