Marquez won't start Tuesday against the Cubs since the game was postponed due to inclement weather, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

The game will be made up via a doubleheader Wednesday, and Marquez figures to start one of those contests. The right-hander has a 5.19 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 37:10 K:BB across 34.2 innings (six starts) since the All-Star break.

DeGrom (elbow) is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Wednesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

The right-hander is expected to start a throwing program if the scans bring good news. He transferred to the 60-day injured list last week and will be eligible to be activated Sept. 13, but he won't be ready to return at that point. If deGrom's elbow doesn't show enough progress during the MRI on Wednesday, there's a strong chance he's shut down for the rest of the 2021 campaign.

DeSclafani (ankle) played catch Tuesday and could be activated to start during the upcoming weekend series in Atlanta, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

The right-hander exited his start last Wednesday against the Mets with right ankle discomfort, and he later landed on the injured list despite his MRI revealing no structural damage. The club has maintained that he'll be able to make his next start, so all signs point toward him taking the ball when he becomes eligible to come off the IL on Sunday in Atlanta.

Kershaw (forearm) threw a 20-pitch bullpen session Tuesday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

The veteran left-hander has been playing catch for the past week and resumed mound work Tuesday with an all-fastball bullpen session. Kershaw will play catch again Wednesday and is expected to throw another bullpen session later in the week that includes some breaking balls. The 33-year-old will need to keep ramping up his workload to have a chance of rejoining the big-league rotation before the end of the season.

Gausman was placed on the COVID-19 injured list Tuesday due to side effects of the vaccine, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

The righty ace is unlikely to miss an outing, with his next scheduled starting being Friday in Atlanta. Details about Gausman's condition and whether he'll require more than a few days to overcome the side effects should become clear by Friday.

The Dodgers activated Urias (calf) from the 10-day injured list ahead of his start against the Padres on Tuesday.

As expected, Urias returns from a left calf contusion to start the series opener in San Diego. Before his 10-day absence, the lefty allowed two earned runs or fewer in each of his prior five starts, posting a 1.30 ERA and 27:6 K:BB in that 27.2-inning span. Neftali Feliz was designated for assignment in a corresponding move Tuesday.

Manager Craig Counsell said Peralta (shoulder) will likely throw off the mound at some point this week, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

The 25-year-old has been on the injured list with right shoulder inflammation since Thursday, but he won't need a rehab assignment before returning. Counsell said Peralta should be activated by the start of Milwaukee's Sept. 3 homestand.

Rogers (personal) is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment at Low-A Jupiter on Tuesday.

According to the report, Rogers will be making the first of two rehab starts at Jupiter on Tuesday before returning from the restricted list and rejoining the Miami rotation. Rogers, who hasn't pitched for Miami since July 31 after leaving the team to tend to multiple family matters, will use the two starts in Jupiter to build up his pitch count and get fully ramped up following the three-plus-week layoff. Assuming he sticks on a normal schedule or four or five days off between starts at Jupiter, Rogers could be activated from the restricted list during the Marlins' series versus the Phillies in the first weekend of September.

The Nationals promoted Cavalli from Double-A Harrisburg to Triple-A Rochester on Tuesday, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.

Washington's top pitching prospect will level up for the second time this season after he previously moved to Harrisburg in mid-June following a brilliant seven-start run at High-A Wilmington to begin his professional career. As was to be expected, Cavalli didn't dominate at Double-A nearly to the extent that he did at High-A, but his 2.79 ERA (2.60 FIP) and 18.5 K-BB% over 11 outings still made him one of the best hurlers on the circuit. Cavalli will now get a chance to get his feet wet at the highest level of the minors for the next month, potentially setting the stage for an early or mid-season promotion into the big-league rotation in 2022.

Mejia didn't factor into the decision in Monday's 6-5 loss to the Pirates, allowing two runs on six hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out seven.

Making his 2021 debut, Mejia tossed 65 of 99 pitches for strikes in a strong effort and exited the game in line for the win before the Arizona bullpen made a mess of things in the seventh inning. The 24-year-old likely earned a longer audition in the rotation with this performance.
