Mikolas' (forearm) visit to Dr. James Andrews on Wednesday did not seem to reveal any new information about the pitcher's injury, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports. "I don't think it's anything dramatically different," manager Mike Shildt said regarding Andrews' evaluation.

Shildt added that the Cardinals' doctors would still need to evaluate Andrews' opinion and he didn't want to elaborate too much until that had an opportunity to unfold. Mikolas could be facing a variety of scenarios in terms of his recovery timeline, but he at least seemed to produce an encouraging MRI on Sunday. The veteran isn't eligible to come off the injured list until early next week, so further clarity on his condition may not be gleaned until sometime this weekend.

Hendricks (5-2) allowed three runs on six hits and no walks while striking out five in seven innings to earn the win against the Pirates on Thursday.

Hendricks was hit hard early in the season, but he's now lasted at least 6.2 innings in each of his last three starts and has earned three consecutive wins. The right-hander gave up three home runs in Thursday's outing, but each of the long balls was a solo blast. Hendricks has now posted a 4.63 ERA and 1.42 WHIP in 56.1 innings across his first 10 starts of the year. He tentatively lines up to make his next start at home against the Padres on Tuesday.

Wood (5-2) lost Thursday's 4-3 match with the Dodgers, allowing four runs and six hits with eight strikeouts in six innings.

Wood was highly efficient on the game, needing only 84 pitches to get through six innings while compiling eight strikeouts, but was plagued by the long ball as three different Dodgers took the 30-year-old lefty deep. He's now lost his last two starts after winning five of his first six although both have been one-run games against Los Angeles.

Lucchesi allowed one earned run on two hits and three walks while striking out two across 3.2 innings in Game 2 of Thursday's doubleheader with the Rockies. He did not factor into the decision.

Lucchesi pitched three scoreless innings before allowing a run to score in the fourth inning on a Connor Joe single. The southpaw has not had a good season, with his ERA lowered to 6.56 in 23.1 innings. If he's done anything good, it's that he's limited opposing hitters to just two home runs this season. The 28-year-old may lose his spot in the rotation with the return of Jacob Degrom (side). He will serve as a long reliever.

Houser allowed one hit and one walk while striking out four across five shutout innings Thursday against the Padres. He did not factor into the decision.

Houser held the Padres in check to deliver his second scoreless outing of the season. He's now allowed two or fewer earned runs in six of his 10 starts, but he has also failed to work at least five innings on four occasions. The end result is an uninspiring 4.07 ERA with a 42:21 K:BB across 48.2 frames on the season.

Strasburg (1-2) was charged with the loss to the Reds on Thursday after allowing three runs on five hits over five innings. He struck out five and issued one walk.

Making his second start back from a bout of shoulder inflammation, Strasburg pitched well -- just not well enough to beat Sonny Gray on this evening. He allowed a homer to Eugenio Suarez in the first inning and was completely BABIP'd in the fifth with an infield single, a single off the second-base bag and a double just inside the left-field foul line. Strasburg, who threw 87 pitches in this outing after tossing 72 pitches in his return, lines up for a road start in Atlanta early next week.

Gray (1-3) earned the win over the Nationals on Thursday, allowing two hits and one walk over six scoreless innings. He struck out five.

This was a stellar showing from Gray and he was rewarded with his first win since last August. The right-hander got 14 called strikes, eight swinging strikes and seven groundball outs on 90 pitches -- there was some thought he could go the distance in this seven-inning game, but manager David Bell turned to Lucas Sims for the save chance. Gray will take a 3.40 ERA into next week, which projects as a favorable two step (vs. PHI, at STL).

Gray would have made a spot start for the Dodgers if not for a shoulder impingement that has kept him out of action for multiple weeks, Matthew Moreno of Dodger Blue reports.

The Dodgers have been rolling with a four-man rotation supplemented by bullpen games since losing Dustin May to Tommy John surgery in early May. Manager Dave Roberts said Wednesday that Gray would have made a spot start along the way if healthy, but the right-hander remains out due to the shoulder issue. Tony Gonsolin (shoulder) could be activated from the injured list after two more rehab starts and would presumably fill the fifth spot in the rotation upon his return, so Gray's window for helping the big club in the immediate future is likely closed for the time being. However, there remains a strong chance that he'll make his big-league debut at some point this season.

Gonsolin (shoulder) will need two more rehab starts prior to being activated from the injured list, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Gonsolin worked three scoreless innings in his first rehab start Sunday for Triple-A Oklahoma City. He threw 38 pitches, a positive as he continues to build up his workload. Assuming he stays on a normal schedule, Gonsolin should line up to take the mound for the big-league club in early June.

Walker (side) is expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list to start Friday's game against Atlanta, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.

Walker has been on the 10-day injured list since May 18 after he exited his last start with side soreness, but he'll return to the active roster after a minimal stay on the IL. The right-hander had posted a 0.53 ERA and 0.53 WHIP in 17 innings across his last three starts.
