Burnes (illness) was reinstated from the COVID-19 injured list Thursday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Burnes spent two weeks on the injured list after he tested positive for COVID-19 in late April, but he was asymptomatic and able to work out on his own while in quarantine. The right-hander will start Thursday's game against the Cardinals. In his first five starts this season, Burnes posted a 1.53 ERA and 0.55 WHIP in 29.1 innings.

Arizona general manager Mike Hazen said the most likely path forward for Gallen (elbow) is a short "no-throw" period, followed by a second round of imaging work to assess healing, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.

The organization is hopeful it got out in front of the injury, which at this stage is being described as a "very minor sprain" of the UCL. Matt Peacock, who took Gallen's turn Wednesday in what was anticipated to be a bullpen day, threw five innings and could stick in the rotation. However, Hazen mentioned a number of possible candidates, including Corbin Martin, Jon Duplantier, Josh Green and Seth Frankoff, who was promoted to the majors Wednesday for bullpen depth.

Urias (5-1) earned the win over Seattle on Wednesday, pitching seven innings and allowing one run on two hits and one walk while striking out six.

The left-hander had little trouble with Seattle's lineup in the win, yielding only three baserunners and no extra-base hits. In what has become a pleasant trend for him this season, Urias was very efficient in the outing, needing only 87 pitches to get through seven frames. On the campaign, Urias is averaging over six innings per start but has yet to exceed 95 pitches in a game. He'll carry five wins and a 3.26 ERA into his next start, which is tentatively scheduled to come against Arizona on Monday.

Miley's next start has been pushed back one day, switching spots with Luis Castillo, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports. Miley will pitch on Friday, with Castillo getting pushed up to Thursday.

Miley threw 114 pitches in Friday's no-hitter against Cleveland. "I think it accomplishes a couple of different things," Reds manager David Bell said on Wednesday. "Wade, there's somewhat not only physical effort that went into his no-hitter the other day, but just the emotional, the mental grind of [114] pitches, complete game and then everything surrounding it."

Castillo will start Thursday instead of Friday, giving Wade Miley an extra day of rest, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.

Miley threw 114 pitches in his no-hitter Friday, whereas Castillo had an abbreviated outing the next day. Reds manager David Bell discussed the move's impact on Castillo: "Then Luis, just keeping him on four days' rest, I think was really important. He's trying to get back into the flow. I think a longer break would've been tough for him. I think he wants to get back out there as soon as he can, so I think it did accomplish both."

Woodruff allowed one earned run on three hits and one walk while striking out 10 across 7.2 innings Wednesday against the Cardinals. He did not factor into the decision.

Woodruff turned in another excellent start, racking up double-digit strikeouts for the second consecutive outing. He has been remarkably consistent early this season, throwing at least six innings in each of his last seven starts and allowing more than one run only once in that span. For the season Woodruff has maintained a 1.64 ERA with a 61:12 K:BB across 49.1 innings. He's projected to next take the mound next Tuesday at Kansas City.

Wheeler didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 5-2 extra-inning win over the Nationals. allowing two runs on eight hits and a walk over six innings while striking out seven.

The right-hander delivered his fifth quality start of the season, tossing 65 of his 98 pitches for strikes, but Wheeler exited the game in line for a loss until the Phillies tied the game up in the ninth. He'll take a 2.85 ERA and outstanding 56:13 K:BB through 53.2 innings into his next outing.

Fried allowed one earned run on two hits and three walks while striking out four across six innings Wednesday against the Blue Jays. He did not factor into the decision.

Fried wasn't at his best in the outing, as he walked more than two batters in a start for the first time this season. However, he also managed his longest start of the campaign and held the Blue Jays to just one extra-base hit. The effort lowered his season-long ERA to 6.55, though his 24:9 K:BB across 22 innings suggests that he has deserved better results. Fried projects to take the hill Monday against the Mets.

Gomber didn't factor into the decision in a 3-2 extra-inning win over the Padres during the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader, giving up one unearned run on four hits and a walk over five innings. He struck out six.

The lefty put together perhaps his best start of the season, throwing 55 of 83 pitches for strikes and exiting the game in line for a win. Despite Wednesday's impressive showing, Gomber will take a 5.49 ERA and 40:21 K:BB through 39 innings into his next outing.

Snell didn't factor into the decision in a 3-2 extra-inning loss to the Rockies during the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader, allowing two runs on five hits and three walks over four innings. He struck out seven.

The southpaw tossed 84 pitches (53 strikes) in another short, inefficient outing. Snell has yet to pitch more than 5.1 innings in a start this year while issuing multiple free passes in each outing, but his 4.19 ERA and 49 strikeouts in 34.1 frames are far from terrible as he tries to find his form in his first season outside of Tampa Bay.
