Kevin Gausman SP | CHC
Giants' Kevin Gausman: Dealt tough loss
Gausman (3-3) took the loss Saturday against the A's after giving up one run on one hit with six strikeouts and three walks over six innings.
Oakland scratched off a run during the fourth inning, but the right-hander otherwise kept the A's in check and showed no sign of the elbow issues that resulted in him being scratched from his previous start. Gausman has a 3.76 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 68:15 K:BB through 52.2 innings and lines up to make his final start of the regular season Thursday versus Colorado.

Tyler Anderson SP | LAA
Giants' Tyler Anderson: Set to start Sunday
Anderson will start Sunday's game against the Athletics, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.
Johnny Cueto was originally slated to start Sunday, but the Giants will push him back to Monday for some extra rest. Anderson last took the mound Thursday, but he was ejected after only two innings and will return for his next start on two days rest.

Johnny Cueto SP | LAA
Giants' Johnny Cueto: Start bumped back
Cueto will start Monday against the Rockies instead of Sunday against the Athletics as originally scheduled, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.
Cueto reportedly isn't injured, but the Giants felt that he needed a bit more time before his next outing. The decision means he'll have a chance to have a two-start week in the final week of the season, assuming he pitches one more time against the Padres next weekend.

Wade Miley SP | CIN
Reds' Wade Miley: Throws simulated game
Miley (shoulder) threw in a simulated game Saturday, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Miley has missed over three weeks with a shoulder strain. If his shoulder checks out fine following Saturday's session, he's expected to be activated soon, though he'll likely appear out of the bullpen given that he hasn't built his workload back up yet.
-
Mike Clevinger RP | PIT
Padres' Mike Clevinger: Late scratch Saturday
Clevinger was scratched from Saturday's scheduled start against the Mariners with biceps tightness, Dennis Lin of The Athletic reports.
The 29-year-old has been experiencing the tightness since tossing seven shutout frames last weekend against the Giants, so he'll receive at least a couple more days of rest. The team hopes Clevinger is able to take the mound within the next few days, but his next start remains up in the air for now. Luis Patino will receive a spot start for the Friars in his place Saturday.

Jose Quintana SP | COL
Cubs' Jose Quintana: Returning early next week
Quintana (lat) will be activated at some point during the Cubs' upcoming series in Pittsburgh, which runs from Monday through Wednesday, Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Quintana has been limited to just two relief appearances all season, first due to thumb surgery and now due to lat inflammation. He'll have time to return in the final week of the season but will likely be limited to bullpen duty.

Walker Buehler SP | SD
Dodgers' Walker Buehler: Will start Thursday
Buehler (finger) will return from the injured list to start Thursday against Oakland, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
Buehler dealt with a blister during his last start on Sept. 8 and will wind up missing a little over two weeks. He threw a 90-pitch simulated game Saturday and is now ready to go. Thursday's start should function as a tuneup for Buehler as he's likely to be a part of the Dodgers' rotation in the postseason.

Jacob deGrom SP | TEX
Mets' Jacob deGrom: Expected to start Monday
DeGrom (hamstring) threw another side session Saturday and is expected to make his scheduled start Monday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
DeGrom exited Wednesday's start with a right hamstring spasm, but he shouldn't have to miss any turns through the rotation as manager Luis Rojas said Saturday that he's in line to start Monday. Assuming he's indeed able to return, the right-hander lines up for one more start in the regular season after Monday's outing.
-
Logan Webb SP | SF
Giants' Logan Webb: Knocked around for six runs
Webb (2-4) allowed six runs on six hits and two walks while striking out one batter over 3.1 innings in a loss to the A's on Friday.
The righty threw only 48 of 90 pitches for strikes and also plunked a batter. When he did put the ball in the zone, Webb was squared up, with the big blow being a three-run homer off the bat of Matt Olson in the third inning. Webb has shown flashes this season, but with a 5.73 ERA and 1.52 WHIP, he clearly still has a ways to go. He lines up to face the Rockies at home during the final week of the regular season.

Max Fried SP | NYY
Braves' Max Fried: Goes five strong in return
Fried (7-0) allowed one run on three hits and two walks while striking out three across five innings to get the win against the Mets on Friday.
Fried entered Friday's contest with a 1.69 road ERA, good for second in the MLB, and stayed true to those numbers. In his first start off the injured list, he allowed a fifth-inning RBI double to Jeff McNeil, but otherwise the young lefty faced little pressure as he induced eight of his 15 outs via grounders en route to a perfect 7-0 record on the season. Fried's 1.96 ERA is good for fourth in the majors, and he has yet to surrender a home run in 10 starts this season. He'll look to keep things rolling in his next start Wednesday against the Marlins.
