Carlos Martinez SP | SF
Cardinals' Carlos Martinez: Registers 12th save
Martinez recorded the final two outs to post his 12th save of the season in a 3-1 victory over the Pirates on Saturday.
He needed just six pitches to do it too, as he induced a lineout and popout. Martinez has seen his ERA rise more than half a run over his last 11 outings, but he's converted 10 of his most recent 11 save opportunities. Martinez is 3-2 with 12 saves, a 3.48 ERA, a 1.26 WHIP and 31 strikeouts in 31 innings this season.

Joe Musgrove SP | SD
Pirates' Joe Musgrove: Yields three runs in loss
Musgrove (8-11) allowed three runs on six hits with three walks and six strikeouts across 5.1 innings while taking a loss against the Cardinals on Saturday.
The 26-year-old looked much better in this outing than his last one, when he allowed eight runs on 10 hits in 3.1 innings against the Mets, but Musgrove still saw his ERA increase Saturday. While he's been up-and-down this season, Musgrove currently having his highest ERA since the middle of June doesn't bode well for his value. Furthermore, the Pirates have won four games since the All-Star break, so nobody on their staff is expected to rack up many wins down the stretch. Musgrove, who will pitch again Friday against the Cubs, owns a 4.71 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 115 strikeouts in 130 innings this season.

Adam Wainwright SP | STL
Cardinals' Adam Wainwright: Gives up one run in win
Wainwright (8-8) allowed one run on six hits with two walks and eight strikeouts across six innings while earning a victory against the Pirates on Saturday.
The veteran right-hander gave up a solo homer to the first batter he faced, but that was it the rest of the night. Wainwright only allowed seven more baserunners and held the Pirates to 1-for-5 with runners in scoring position. The 37-year-old owns a 4.35 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 118 strikeouts in 120 innings this season. Wainwright will take the hill again in Cincinnati on Thursday.

Mike Soroka SP | ARI
Braves' Mike Soroka: Fires seven scoreless frames
Soroka gave up three hits and one walk over seven scoreless frames in a 7-6 loss at Miami on Saturday. He struck out six but but didn't factor in the decision.
Soroka was in line for the win after the Braves tallied three runs during the top of the eighth inning, but the bullpen proceeded to allow seven runs across the final three frames to blow the game. It's the third straight start the right-hander has delivered seven innings, and he's surrendered just four total runs in that stretch, though all three starts were no-decisions. The 22-year-old will have a tall task when he faces the Dodgers next weekend.

Sandy Alcantara SP | MIA
Marlins' Sandy Alcantara: Another no-decision
Alcantara allowed three runs on five hits and two walks over 7.2 innings during Saturday's 7-6 win over the Braves. He struck out six but did not factor in the decision.
Alcantara held Atlanta scoreless through seven innings, but he faltered in the eighth and was unable to finish the frame while being charged with three runs. The 23-year-old struggled in his first few starts out of the All-Star break but has given up five runs on eight hits in his last two outings (12.2 innings). Alcantara lines up for a tough matchup Friday at Coors Field.

Kyle Hendricks SP | LAA
Cubs' Kyle Hendricks: Rocked by Reds
Hendricks (8-9) allowed seven runs in 2.2 innings to take the loss against the Reds on Saturday. He gave up 12 hits while striking out two.
Cincinnati rookie Aristides Aquino took Hendricks deep twice, and the righty also gave up a home run to Nick Senzel. The seven runs are the most Hendricks has allowed in a start since Apr. 26, though he at least managed to go five innings in that outing. The clunker raised his season ERA from 3.06 to 3.48. Hendricks will look to get back on track his next time out Friday against the Pirates.

Kenta Maeda SP | NYY
Dodgers' Kenta Maeda: Bounces back versus D-backs
Maeda (8-8) earned the victory Saturday by pitching seven scoreless innings, allowing just three hits while striking out six in a 4-0 win over the Diamondbacks.
Maeda gave up 14 runs (13 earned) over his previous three appearances, spanning 11 innings, but he was much better Saturday. It was his longest outing since July 6, when he tossed 7.2 innings against the Padres. The 31-year-old lowered his ERA to 4.12 with a 1.09 WHIP and 128:39 K:BB across 122.1 innings this season. Maeda is expected to draw the Braves in a road start Friday.

Noah Syndergaard SP | CLE
Mets' Noah Syndergaard: Quality start in no-decision
Syndergaard didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Nationals, allowing two runs on seven hits and two walks over seven innings while striking out five.
The right-hander looked like he might be in trouble after Juan Soto took him deep for a two-run shot in the first inning, but Syndergaard settled down after that and kept the Nats off the board for the rest of his night. He's now delivered six straight quality starts, working at least seven innings in each, and Thor will take a 3.89 ERA and 145:40 K:BB through 148 innings into his next outing Friday in Kansas City.
-
Patrick Corbin SP | TOR
Nationals' Patrick Corbin: Strong outing wasted
Corbin didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Mets, giving up two runs on three hits and a walk over six innings while striking out eight.
The southpaw stumbled in the fourth inning, serving up two solo homers, but otherwise Corbin dominated the Mets and was in line for his 10th win of the year before another Nats bullpen meltdown, this one from Fernando Rodney. Corbin will carry a 3.41 ERA and 172:45 K:BB through 147.2 innings into his next start Friday, at home against the Brewers.

Zach Davies SP | WAS
Brewers' Zach Davies: Tosses bullpen Saturday
Davies (back) threw a successful bullpen session Saturday, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Davies will throw again in the bullpen Sunday and is targeting a return to the rotation during the Brewers' upcoming road trip, which begins Friday. The 26-year-old righty has struggled in his last three outings, going 0-3 with an 11.77 ERA and 2.00 WHIP. With teammates Brandon Woodruff and Jhoulys Chacin also on the injured list, Davies' presence in the rotation is needed desperately during the Brewers' late playoff push.
