  • Julio Teheran SP | BAL

Braves' Julio Teheran: Fans seven in seventh win

Teheran (7-7) picked up the win in Friday's 8-4 victory over the Marlins, allowing one run on five hits and a walk over seven innings while striking out seven.

The right-hander held Miami off the scoreboard completely until finally serving up a solo shot to Starlin Castro in the seventh inning. Teheran hasn't given up more than three runs in any start since the beginning of July, delivering five quality starts in seven trips to the mound with a 1.91 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 41:14 K:BB through 42.1 innings over that stretch. He'll look to keep rolling in his next outing Thursday, at home against the Mets.

  • Yu Darvish SP | SD

Cubs' Yu Darvish: Hurt by long ball in loss

Darvish (4-6) took the loss Friday as the Cubs fell 5-2 to the Reds, allowing four runs on four hits -- including three home runs -- over six innings while striking out nine.

All four of Cincy's hits off the right-hander went for extra bases, as Josh VanMeter's double joined a trio of long balls by Aristides Aquino, Eugenio Suarez and Joey Votto. Darvish has now served up 26 homers this season -- one shy of his career-worst performance in that category -- in 24 starts, and he'll carry a 4.43 ERA and 158:51 K:BB through 132 innings into his next outing Thursday in Philadelphia.

  • Dodgers' Ross Stripling: Return pushed back

Stripling (biceps) will be shut down for another week, Eric Stephen of TrueBlueLA.com reports.

Stripling landed on the injured list July 27 due to right biceps tendinitis, and although he was expected to begin a rehab assignment Tuesday, he's now been shut down for one more week. Considering he hasn't started a game since July 24, the Dodgers intend to bring Stripling back as a reliever, per Stephen.

  • Brewers' Brandon Woodruff: Resumes throwing

Woodruff played catch Friday for the first time since suffering a left oblique strain, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Woodruff was placed on the shelf July 22 after suffering the injury, and he's not expected to return until the beginning of September at the earliest. The fact that he's resumed throwing is a solid first step, but he still has a long road ahead of him before being activated.

  • Mitch Keller SP | PIT

Pirates' Mitch Keller: Confirmed for Monday's start

Keller will start Monday's game in Anaheim, Nubyjas Wilborn of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

He will line up for a two-start week, getting the ball again next Sunday against the Cubs. Keller has a 3.65 ERA and 67:15 K:BB over his last 10 starts (56.2 innings) with Triple-A Indianapolis. He has given up 14 earned runs in 12 innings across three big-league starts, so while there is strikeout upside, there is also a very low floor. It will take a brave fantasy manager to deploy him for this two step in mixed roto leagues.

  • Pablo Lopez SP | MIN

Marlins' Pablo Lopez: Rehab start looming

Lopez (shoulder) will throw one more bullpen session before making a rehab start, Andre Fernandez of The Athletic reports.

His recovery hasn't gone as smoothly or as quickly as initially anticipated, but he threw a bullpen session Friday and that apparently went OK. Fernandez only mentions one rehab start for Lopez, but he may need several considering he has been sidelined for almost two months.

  • Logan Webb SP | SF

Giants' Logan Webb: Promoted to Triple-A

Webb was promoted to Triple-A Sacramento on Friday, Dalton Johnson of NBC Sports reports.

One of the top pitching prospects in the Giants' system, Webb was suspended for 80 games earlier this year for testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance. He recorded a 2.18 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 47:12 K:BB in 41.1 innings at Double-A after logging 30.2 innings at that level in 2018. Webb could join the big-league rotation later this season or early next season.

  • Eric Lauer SP | LAD

Padres' Eric Lauer: Knocked around in no-decision

Lauer did not factor into the decision against Colorado on Thursday, throwing four innings and giving up three runs on 10 hits while striking out two.

Lauer did little to stifle the Rockies' offense as he gave up at least one hit in each inning and induced only four swinging strikes. The result could have been worse if not for a number of outstanding defensive plays behind him, including a putout at home plate followed by a dazzling double play to end the fourth inning after Lauer allowed three consecutive singles to begin the frame. The 24-year-old will carry a 4.51 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 89:31 K:BB over 109.2 innings into his next scheduled start, at home against Tampa Bay on Tuesday.

  • Jon Gray SP | TEX

Rockies' Jon Gray: Suffers eighth defeat

Gray (10-8) took the loss against San Diego on Thursday, completing 5.2 innings and allowing seven runs (three earned) on six hits and two walks while striking out four.

Gray gave up three runs in the first two innings -- two of which were produced on a leadoff home run and an RBI single by Fernando Tatis Jr. -- but settled down to retire nine of 10 batters in the third through fifth frames. He then put away two of the first three hitters he faced in the sixth before a Trevor Story error opened the floodgates for what would become a five-run inning. Gray now carries a 10-8 record along with a 4.06 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 143:56 K:BB over 142 innings this season. He's in line to host Arizona on Tuesday in his next scheduled start.

  • Aaron Nola SP | PHI

Phillies' Aaron Nola: Surrenders three runs in defeat

Nola (10-3) suffered the loss against the Giants on Thursday, pitching five innings and giving up three runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out three.

Nola entered the game having won his previous four decisions but was outdueled by opposing starter Madison Bumgarner. He allowed nine baserunners but only one extra-base hit, a third-inning double off the bat of Mike Yastrzemski that plated two of the three runs scored against him. After finishing third on the NL Cy Young Award ballot last year, Nola has come down to earth a bit this season; however, he is still the unquestioned ace of the staff, leading all Phillies starters in wins, ERA, quality starts, strikeouts and WAR. He'll have a home matchup against the Cubs on Wednesday in his next scheduled start.
