  • Pirates' Jameson Taillon: To resume throwing

Taillon (elbow) will start playing catch Thursday or Friday, John Perrotto of DKPittsburghSports.com reports.

Reports last week suggested that Taillon would begin throwing over the weekend, but he'll wind up just a few days behind that schedule. He'll play catch for 10-to-14 days before being reevaluated to determined whether he can increase the intensity of his throwing.

  • Rich Hill SP | KC

Dodgers' Rich Hill: Shifts to 60-day injured list

Hill (forearm) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Wednesday, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

The move has little effect on Hill's recovery timeline, as he's still weeks away from resuming throwing after suffering a flexor tendon strain. It's not clear that he'll even be able to pitch again this season. The transaction clears a spot on the Dodgers' 40-man roster for Casey Sadler, acquired in a trade from the Rays in a corresponding move.

  • Seth Lugo SP | KC

Mets' Seth Lugo: Notches fourth win

Lugo (4-2) picked up the win in Tuesday's victory over the Yankees, walking one batter in a scoreless eighth inning.

The Mets were down 2-1 when Lugo entered the game but rallied for three runs in the bottom of the eighth, putting him in the win column. It was an encouraging outing after the right-hander had been tagged for at least two runs in each of his last three appearances. Lugo now sports a 3.51 ERA and 53:13 K:BB through 41 innings on the season and has also collected 11 holds.

  • Rockies' German Marquez: Fans seven in no-decision

Marquez didn't factor into the decision in Tuesday's 9-8 loss to the Astros, giving up five runs (four earned) on eight hits and a walk over six innings while striking out seven.

It was a typical night at Coors Field for the right-hander, who got scored upon in each of the first three innings but still exited the game in line for his ninth win before things went sideways for the Rockies bullpen in the seventh. Marquez will carry a 4.38 ERA and 120:27 K:BB through 121.1 frames into his final start before the All-Star break Sunday in Arizona.

  • Kyle Hendricks SP | LAA

Cubs' Kyle Hendricks: Takes loss after rain delay

Hendricks (7-6) allowed two runs on four hits with one walk and four strikeouts across three innings while taking a loss against the Pirates on Tuesday.

The right-hander gave up runs in the first and third, and then a lengthy rain delay arrived. When play resumed, the Cubs went to their bullpen, which promptly allowed the Pirates to increase their lead. Despite the short outing because of the weather, Hendricks remained on the hook and suffered his second straight loss. He is 7-6 with a 3.45 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 79 strikeouts in 91.1 innings this year. Unless the Cubs decide to move things around in their rotation because Hendricks only threw 55 pitches Tuesday, he won't take the mound again until after the All-Star break.

  • Joe Musgrove SP | SD

Pirates' Joe Musgrove: Takes no-decision because of rain

Musgrove allowed zero runs on one hit with no walks and four strikeouts across three innings during a no-decision against the Cubs on Tuesday.

The 26-year-old was cruising through three frames, but then the rain came at PNC Pack. The delay prevented Musgrove from returning to the mound for a chance at the win, but he did improve the rest of his numbers with three strong innings. Musgrove is 6-7 with a 4.13 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 78 strikeouts in 93.2 innings this season. Assuming he doesn't move up in the rotation because he only threw 34 pitches, Musgrove will pitch one more time before the All-Star break Sunday at home against the Brewers.

  • Jack Flaherty SP | DET

Cardinals' Jack Flaherty: Struggles through 4.2 innings

Flaherty did not factor into the decision against the Mariners on Tuesday, pitching 4.2 innings and giving up four runs on seven hits and four walks while striking out seven.

After giving up a pair of runs in the second inning, Flaherty appeared to settle down until a two-run home run by Omar Narvaez ended his evening with two outs in the fifth. He struggled with efficiency throughout the appearance, throwing 103 pitches and walking four batters. It was the second consecutive outing in which Flaherty failed to make it out of the fifth inning; he suffered a seven-run implosion against Oakland his last time out. After a strong rookie season, the 23-year-old has shown some regression in 2019, posting a 4.90 ERA and 1.29 WHIP through 90 innings. He'll get the ball for the Cardinals in their final game of the first half in San Francisco on Sunday.

  • Zac Gallen SP | ARI

Marlins' Zac Gallen: Leaves after second because of rain

Gallen allowed two runs on three hits with one walk and two strikeouts across two innings during a no-decision against the Nationals on Tuesday.

The right-hander gave up a two-run homer in the first, and he didn't get to make up for that. Because of a rain delay, he left after the second inning. He avoided a second straight loss, but Gallen is 0-1 with a 4.50 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 16 strikeouts in 12 innings this season. Assuming the Marlins don't move him up in the rotation because he only threw 37 pitches Tuesday night, Gallen will start again on Sunday at the Braves.

  • Patrick Corbin SP | TOR

Nationals' Patrick Corbin: Settles for no-decision

Corbin allowed one run on six hits with zero walks and seven strikeouts across seven innings during a no-decision against the Marlins on Tuesday.

The Nationals won in exciting walk-off fashion, but that means Corbin didn't earn a win for his strong efforts . The Nationals supported him with two runs through eight frames, and the bullpen blew his narrow lead. Still, Corbin has allowed just one run apiece in three straight appearances. He is 7-5 with a 3.55 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 118 strikeouts in 106.1 innings this season, and he'll make one more start before the All-Star break when he takes on the Royals at home on Sunday.

  • Dodgers' Ross Stripling: Whiffs seven in 4.2 innings

Stripling did not factor into the decision against Arizona on Tuesday, tossing 4.2 innings and giving up four runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out seven.

The outing was a mixed bag for Stripling, as he struck out seven batters and collected two hits of his own (including a run-scoring single) but also tied a season high by giving up four runs. He was pulled after 81 pitches as he continues to build stamina after spending most of May and June in a bullpen role. The 29-year-old owns a 3.45 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 59:19 K:BB through 57.1 innings this season and should continue to be a part of the starting rotation with Rich Hill (forearm) out indefinitely. He'll next take the mound Sunday in a home matchup against the Padres.
