Mike Soroka SP | ARI
Braves' Mike Soroka: On track to start Friday
Soroka (forearm) is expected to start Friday against the Mets, Gabe Burns of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Soroka was struck by a comebacker during his last start, but he felt good during a bullpen session Wednesday, putting the right-hander on track to start Friday's series opener in New York. In 13 starts this season, Soroka owns a shiny 2.07 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 63:19 K:BB in 78.1 innings.

MacKenzie Gore SP | TEX
Padres' MacKenzie Gore: Tosses 100-pitch gem
Gore threw 6.2 shutout innings for High-A Lake Elsinore on Wednesday, giving up three hits, striking out nine and walking one.
Gore has been tossing gems for the Storm all season. However, this is nothing new, but this outing was notable in that it was the first time in the 20-year-old's professional career that he's hit the 100-pitch threshold. He's been virtually untouchable in the California League, as his latest brilliant outing leaves him with a 1.12 ERA, a 0.69 WHIP and a 101:17 K:BB in 72.1 innings.

Noah Syndergaard SP | CLE
Mets' Noah Syndergaard: On track to return Sunday
Syndergaard (hamstring) is scheduled to come off the injured list to start Sunday against the Braves, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Syndergaard is on track to rejoin the Mets' rotation over the weekend after getting through a minor-league rehab start with no issues Tuesday. The right-hander allowed three runs on five hits over five innings while striking out nine in a win for Low-A Brooklyn. Prior to landing on the shelf, Syndergaard compiled a 4.55 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 93:24 K:BB in 95 innings (15 starts).

Julio Urias SP | LAD
Dodgers' Julio Urias: Excels in long relief
Urias (4-2) allowed two baserunners and struck out one over three scoreless innings of relief to claim the win Tuesday in the Dodgers' 3-2 victory over the Diamondbacks.
Ross Stripling was capped at 60 pitches while making his first start in two months, allowing Urias to pick up the bulk of the leftover six innings needed from the bullpen. Though he only induced five swinging strikes in the 40-pitch outing, Urias provided some ratio help and was able to scoop the win thanks to Chris Taylor's go-ahead RBI double in the sixth inning. Urias will remain in a relief role for the foreseeable future while the Dodgers look to manage his workload, but he should offer some fantasy utility in that capacity. Over 13 appearances out of the bullpen, Urias has posted a 2.19 ERA and 1.01 WHIP while scooping up three saves and three wins.

Walker Buehler SP | SD
Dodgers' Walker Buehler: Scheduled to start Thursday
Buehler will start Thursday's game against the Rockies, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
Buehler was originally lined up to start Wednesday against the Diamondbacks, but he'll get an extra day of rest before his next start after tossing a complete game his last time out (fanning 16 and picking up the win in the process). Tony Gonsolin is starting Wednesday, while Buehler will look to build off his most recent performance in a rematch against the Rockies on Thursday at Coors Field. Through 15 starts this season, the 24-year-old right-hander owns a 2.96 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 100:13 K:BB in 91.1 innings.

Kenta Maeda SP | NYY
Dodgers' Kenta Maeda: Next start coming Sunday
Maeda will start Sunday against the Rockies, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
The Dodgers want to keep Clayton Kershaw on normal rest for his next start, so he'll get the ball Saturday while Maeda starts Sunday's series finale. Maeda will be well rested, as his last outing came Sunday. In 15 starts this season, the 31-year-old Maeda owns a 3.76 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 83:28 K:BBB in 83.2 innings.

Tony Gonsolin RP | KC
Dodgers' Tony Gonsolin: Promoted ahead of start
Gonsolin was promoted from Triple-A Oklahoma City ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday against the Diamondbacks, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
Gonsolin is poised to make his big-league debut after compiling a 2.77 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 31:13 K:BB across eight starts (26 innings) with Triple-A Oklahoma City. The right-hander hasn't exceeded five innings of 77 pitches in any outing for Oklahoma City, so he figures to see similar restrictions in Wednesday's start. Will Smith was optioned to Triple-A while Tony Cingrani (shoulder) was shifted to the 60-day injured list in a pair of corresponding moves.

Braxton Garrett RP | CHC
Marlins' Braxton Garrett: Fans 11 for High-A Jupiter
Garrett allowed a hit and a walk over seven scoreless innings while striking out 11 for High-A Jupiter on Tuesday.
The 21-year-old southpaw turned in the best performance of his pro career, both in terms of K's and innings pitched, and it seems safe to say this is what the Marlins were hoping for when they selected Garrett in the first round of the 2016 draft. After missing all of last year while recovering from Tommy John surgery, he now boasts a 2.86 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 82:24 K:BB through 63 innings in the Florida State League. While the organization won't want to push him too hard, a promotion to Double-A before the end of the season could be in the cards -- positioning Garrett for a potential 2020 big-league debut.

Noah Syndergaard SP | CLE
Mets' Noah Syndergaard: Fans nine in rehab start
Syndergaard (hamstring) gave up three runs on five hits over five innings while striking out nine for Low-A Brooklyn on Tuesday.
The strikeouts are certainly encouraging, although seeing Thor give up any runs at all to New York-Penn League hitters might raise some eyebrows. Syndergaard remains on track to rejoin the Mets rotation Sunday, unless the club decides he needs to make one more minor-league tuneup start.

Tyler Mahle SP | ATL
Reds' Tyler Mahle: Suffers eighth loss
Mahle (2-8) took the loss against the Angels on Tuesday, completing five innings and giving up four runs on six hits and two walks while striking out four.
Mahle got off to a rough start when a deep fly ball to center field off the bat of Tommy La Stella rolled away and resulted in a leadoff inside-the-park home run, then fell further behind in the second inning after allowing a three-run shot to Luis Rengifo. Though the 24-year-old settled down to hold the Angels scoreless over his remaining three innings, the deficit proved to be too much to overcome for the Reds' offense. Mahle will carry a 4.35 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 84:20 K:BB into his next start, at home against Milwaukee on Monday.
