  • Brewers' Brandon Woodruff: Strikes out six in no-decision

Woodruff gave up three runs on four hits and three walks while striking out six through seven innings in a no-decision against the Astros on Wednesday.

Woodruff allowed four baserunners and all three runs in the fourth inning during an otherwise solid performance. Even though Woodruff is allowing a 38 percent hard-contact rate this season, he limited the Astros to an average exit velocity of just 81 MPH in this contest. He has an 8-1 record with a 3.87 ERA and a 10.6 K/9 through 14 starts this season. Woodruff will look to keep it going in his next start Monday against the Padres at Petco Park.

  • Rockies' Antonio Senzatela: Roughed up by Cubs

Senzatela (5-5) allowed eight runs (six earned) on eight hits and four walks while striking out two across four innings to take the loss Wednesday against the Cubs.

Senzatela surrendered five runs in the second frame, capped by a three-run homer by Kyle Schwarber. While he worked out of danger for the majority of the remainder of his outing, he still allowed multiple baserunners in three of the five innings he pitched. Across 64 innings this season, Senzatela now has a 5.48 ERA and 1.63 WHIP. While Coors Field doesn't help his cause, Senzatela has a 4.70 ERA on the road across 30.2 innings, racking up a 14:16 K:BB ratio in the process. His next start is set to come at Arizona on Tuesday.

  • Cole Hamels SP | SD

Cubs' Cole Hamels: Cruises to sixth win

Hamels (6-2) tossed seven scoreless innings to pick up the win Wednesday against the Rockies. He allowed six hits and a walk, while striking out nine.

Coors Field was no match for Hamels, as the veteran lefty needed just 93 pitches to breeze through his seven innings. He was also aided by five runs of support in the second inning and three more in the fifth, setting him up for an easy win. Hamels will take a solid 2.98 ERA and 83:30 K:BB through 84.2 innings into his next start, which is scheduled for Tuesday against the White Sox.

  • Cal Quantrill RP | TEX

Padres' Cal Quantrill: Set to start Friday

Quantrill is scheduled to start Friday's game versus the Rockies, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Quantrill has allowed five runs over 11 innings with a 16:2 K:BB across his last two starts to earn another turn through the rotation. The 23-year-old will have a tall order Friday as he makes his first career start at Coors Field.

  • Pirates' Jameson Taillon: Increasing range of motion

Taillon (elbow) is increasing his range-of-motion exercises, John Perrotto of DKPittsburghSports.com reports.

While this is an encouraging sign for the right-hander, who has been on the shelf since the beginning of May with a flexor tendon strain, he still remains without a timetable to resume throwing. Until he picks up a throwing program, Taillon likely won't have a firm recovery timeline.

  • Chris Paddack RP | TEX

Padres' Chris Paddack: Sent to minors

Paddack was optioned to High-A Lake Elsinore on Wednesday, Dennis Lin of The Athletic reports.

The Padres are looking to monitor the young right-hander's innings, so he'll head to the minors for the time being to rest for what is expected to be a short period of time before ultimately rejoining the Padres. It seems like a good time for a reset for Paddack, as he's allowed a combined 13 runs (12 earned) across 14.1 innings over his last three appearances. The Padres have yet to announce who will replace Paddack in the rotation at this point.

  • Jordan Lyles RP | KC

Pirates' Jordan Lyles: Expected back next week

Lyles (hamstring) is expected to rejoin the Pirates' rotation next week, John Perrotto of DKPittsburghSports.com reports.

Lyles landed on the injured list earlier in the week, but it sounds like his stay on the shelf will be a short one. Assuming everything goes off without a hitch during his scheduled bullpen session this weekend, Lyles could be cleared to return when first eligible (June 20).

  • Miles Mikolas RP | WAS

Cardinals' Miles Mikolas: Confirmed as starter

Mikolas (forearm) has been confirmed as the starting pitcher for Wednesday's game against the Marlins.

Mikolas' last start was cut short after he was struck on the arm by a line drive, but he has not experienced any issues since, and will take his turn in the rotation. Mikolas faced the Marlins twice last season and allowed just two total earned runs while going seven innings and picking up the win in each contest.

  • Mitch Keller SP | PIT

Pirates' Mitch Keller: Summoned ahead of start

Keller was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday against the Braves.

As expected, Keller is set to rejoin the big-league rotation Wednesday with Jordan Lyles (hamstring) and Rookie Davis (finger) both landing on the injured list within the past week. The young right-hander struggled in his major-league debut at the end of May, allowing six runs on seven hits in four innings against the Reds, though his seven strikeouts in that outing are likely a better indication of his overall skills. In his past two starts for Triple-A Indianapolis, Keller compiled a 1.64 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 18:5 K:BB in 11 innings of work. Montana DuRapau was sent to the minors to free up a roster spot for Keller.

  • Jose Urena SP | LAA

Marlins' Jose Urena: Officially lands on IL

Urena (back) was placed on the 10-day injured list Wednesday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

This was expected, as Urena is dealing with a bout of lower-back tightness and will need at least a week to get right. The move is retroactive to Sunday, making the right-hander eligible to return June 19 should he prove ready to go after a minimum stay on the shelf. Jordan Yamamoto was summoned from the minors in a corresponding move and will start Wednesday in place of Urena.
