  • Dodgers' Ross Stripling: Could start Wednesday

Stripling could be in line to start Wednesday's game at Cincinnati, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Clayton Kershaw will have his started pushed back a day, potentially opening up the spot for Stripling. The right-hander was activated off the 10-day disabled list Friday and recorded one out in his lone appearance out of the bullpen. The 28-year-old missed most of August with a back injury.

  • Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Start bumped to Thursday

Kershaw will make his next scheduled start Thursday at St. Louis, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

The Dodgers want to give Kershaw an additional day of rest -- he last pitched Friday -- so his originally scheduled start Wednesday will be bumped back a day. The 30-year-old has a 2.42 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 134:21 K:BB over 137.1 innings this season.

  • Jacob deGrom SP | TEX

Mets' Jacob deGrom: Scratched from Sunday's start

DeGrom will not start Sunday against Philadelphia due to inclement weather, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

The Mets don't want to risk starting deGrom as a steady rain was falling at Citi Field, so he won't be taking the mound Sunday. Corey Oswalt will start in his place for the series finale, and there has been no official announcement of when deGrom will make his next turn, though it might happen Monday against the Marlins.

  • Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Recalled from Triple-A

Peralta was recalled from Triple-A Colorado Springs on Sunday.

Peralta was roughed up in his last start Aug. 30 and sent to Triple-A, but he returns to the Brewers after the minimum 10 days in the minors. The 22-year-old won't make another start this season -- barring unforeseen circumstances -- but will be available out of the bullpen. Peralta had a 4.40 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 91:39 K:BB over 73.2 innings as a starter for Milwaukee this season.

  • Cardinals' Michael Wacha: Slated for bullpen upon possible return

Wacha (oblique), whose prospects of pitching again in 2018 remain uncertain, will definitely be used exclusively in a bullpen role if he does manage to return, Tyler Fenwick of MLB.com reports.

The confirmation comes via manager Mike Shildt, who reached that conclusion after Wacha was unable to make his most recent rehab start for Triple-A Memphis on Friday. That was likely the right-hander's last opportunity to pitch at the minor-league level in 2018, as the Redbirds are already in the thick of the Triple-A playoffs. Wacha will undergo further evaluation on his left oblique, with Shildt stating that he still doesn't know "when or if [Wacha's return] will be."

  • Pirates' Trevor Williams: Sunday's game postponed

Williams will not make his scheduled start against the Marlins as Sunday's game was postponed due to weather, Bill Brink of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

The rain has been prevalent throughout the weekend, leading to Sunday's postponement. Williams could simply pitch Monday at St. Louis and bump the rest of the rotation back a day, but the Pirates haven't revealed exactly how they'll adjust their starting rotation.

  • Cole Hamels SP | SD

Cubs' Cole Hamels: Can't find plate in no-decision

Hamels didn't factor into the decision in a 6-5 loss to the Nationals during the second game of Saturday's doubleheader, giving up three runs on three hits and five walks over 5.2 innings while striking out five.

The veteran southpaw managed only 51 strikes among his 95 pitches, but he still left the game in line for his 10th win of the season before Steve Cishek coughed up the lead in the seventh inning. Hamels will take a 3.71 ERA, which includes a 1.42 mark in eight starts for the Cubs, into his next outing Friday at home against the Reds.

  • Julio Teheran SP | BAL

Braves' Julio Teheran: Strikes out six

Teheran allowed two runs (one earned) on two hits and four walks while striking out six across six innings in a no-decision against the Diamondbacks on Saturday.

Teheran battled his control throughout the start but allowed only one extra-base hit to keep the Diamondbacks in check. He's done a good job of limiting big mistakes, allowing only two home runs in his last six outings, five of which were quality starts. Teheran has a solid 3.95 ERA and 1.16 WHIP across 159.1 innings this season.

  • Dodgers' Walker Buehler: Surrenders four earned

Buehler (6-5) allowed four earned runs on six hits and one walk while striking out seven across six innings to take the loss Saturday against the Rockies.

Buehler was set back by two home runs that accounted for three of the four runs he surrendered. While he turned in a disappointing start as a result, he has allowed only 18 earned runs across his last 58.1 innings to go along with 68 strikeouts. Given his consistent results this season, Saturday's start at Coors Field should be considered an isolated poor outing.

  • Kyle Freeland SP | COL

Rockies' Kyle Freeland: Notches 14th win

Freeland (14-7) allowed one earned run on four hits and two walks while striking out eight across six innings to earn the win Saturday against the Dodgers.

Freeland's sole blemish came on a solo blast by Chris Taylor in the fourth inning. Otherwise, he kept the Dodgers' bats under wraps by recording 15 of his 18 outs via the strikeout or groundball. His second season at the major-league level has been a revelation, as he's now recorded a 2.91 ERA and 1.24 WHIP across 176.1 innings.
