Alex Wood RP | ATH
Dodgers' Alex Wood: Activated ahead of start
Wood (hamstring) was activated from the 10-day disabled list and confirmed as the starting pitcher for Tuesday's game against the Giants.
As expected, Wood has been cleared to rejoin the Dodgers' starting rotation after spending the minimum 10 days on the disabled list with left adductor tendinitis. Prior to landing on the shelf, the 27-year-old southpaw compiled a 2.48 ERA and 1.14 WHIP over his previous nine starts. He'll look to pick up where he left off in Tuesday's NL West showdown.

Alec Asher SP | MIL
Brewers' Alec Asher: Designated for assignment
Asher was designated for assignment by the Brewers on Tuesday.
Asher was cast off the team's 40-man roster in order to clear room for Jake Thompson, who was acquired from the Phillies on Tuesday. The 26-year-old tossed three scoreless innings for the Brewers, but he struggled to a 5.51 ERA across 85 innings with Triple-A Colorado Springs. He'll report back to the Sky Sox if he passes through waivers unclaimed.

Jake Thompson SP | PHI
Brewers' Jake Thompson: Traded to Brewers
Thompson was traded from the Phillies to the Brewers on Tuesday in exchange for cash considerations, Meghan Montemurro of The Athletic Philadelphia reports.
Thompson was shipped to the Brewers after being designated for assignment last week. The 24-year-old compiled a 4.96 ERA across 16.1 innings of relief with the Phillies this season while posting a 4.60 ERA across 47 innings with Triple-A Lehigh Valley. He'll report to Triple-A Colorado Springs for now.

Antonio Senzatela RP | MIL
Rockies' Antonio Senzatela: Fires live batting practice
Senzatela (shoulder) threw live batting practice Tuesday, Nick Groke of The Athletic Denver reports.
Senzatela faced Ryan McMahon, Pat Valaika and Garrett Hampson and said he felt great afterwards. He's eligible to return from the 10-day DL on Wednesday, so assuming he checks out OK in the coming days, the young righty could reclaim a spot in the starting rotation sometime later in the week.
-
Sammy Solis SP | SD
Nationals' Sammy Solis: Sent down
Solis is not listed on the lineup card for Tuesday's game and has presumably been optioned to Triple-A Syracuse, Mark Zuckerman of MASN Sports reports.
Solis gave up a go-ahead, three-run homer to Matt Carpenter on Monday, and afterward manager Dave Martinez made no attempt to hide his displeasure. "I don't know what else to do," Martinez said. "He's got to get lefties out." Matt Grace and Trevor Gott will be the left-handed options in the Nats' bullpen for the time being.

Jerad Eickhoff SP | PIT
Phillies' Jerad Eickhoff: Slated for third rehab start
Eickhoff (lat) will make another rehab start for High-A Clearwater on Tuesday, Meghan Montemurro of The Athletic Philadelphia reports.
This will be Eickhoff's third start for the Threshers, and he figures to keep ramping things up after throwing three innings his last time out (and two innings during his first rehab outing). The 28-year-old has been sidelined all season with a lat strain and a pair of setbacks, so he'll likely need multiple additional rehab appearances before being cleared to return.
-
Zach Davies SP | WAS
Brewers' Zach Davies: Rehab start set for Thursday
Davies (shoulder) will make a rehab start for Triple-A Colorado Springs on Thursday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Davies has been on the shelf since the start of June. He owns a 6.14 ERA across 14.2 innings in his previous four minor-league rehab starts. Manager Craig Counsell said "we'll have to make a decision" after Davies' upcoming start, suggesting the right-hander could rejoin the Brewers' rotation if all goes well Thursday.
-
Yu Darvish SP | SD
Cubs' Yu Darvish: Gets through three sim innings
Darvish (shoulder) threw three innings in a simulated game Tuesday, Matt Martell of MLB.com reports.
Darvish struggled a bit with his command, but the session was overall a positive one, as it was the longest he's thrown so far. Assuming he feels good Wednesday, his next step will likely be a rehab assignment, Carrie Muskat of MLB.com reports. Given the length of his absence, which began back in late May, Darvish will likely require several rehab appearances, putting his return date sometime in late August or early September.

Freddy Peralta SP | TB
Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Expected to make next start in St. Louis
Brewers manager Craig Counsell suggested that Peralta would "be back out" on the mound to start one of the team's three games in St. Louis during the upcoming weekend, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Counsell's comments came immediately after the Braves shelled Peralta for seven runs on seven hits and five walks over three innings Aug. 10. Peralta's results have been all over the map since he reached the big leagues in May, seemingly putting his rotation spot on thin ice with Zach Davies (shoulder) zeroing in on a return from the disabled list. The right-hander has turned in a pair of double-digit strikeout outings and five starts of six innings and two or fewer runs allowed, but also has two seven-run stinkers on his ledger along with four starts where he issued at least four walks. Peralta will make for a volatile fantasy option this weekend if Counsell follows through with the plan to have him make a start.

Tommy Milone SP | SEA
Nationals' Tommy Milone: Knocked around in no-decision
Milone allowed two runs on 10 hits and one walk across 4.1 innings Monday in a no-decision against the Cardinals. He recorded one strikeout.
Milone allowed a constant stream of baserunners on the evening, but he was able to work out of jams to mitigate the damage. He allowed a run on three hits and a hit batsman in the first inning and another on two hits and a sacrifice fly in the fourth. Milone also came back out for the fifth, but he loaded the bases with one out and was fortunate to see the bullpen put out the fire. The veteran has now allowed 10 hits in back-to-back starts, conceding a total of nine earned runs across just 10.1 innings in that span. He'll look to get back on track in a more favorable matchup with the Marlins this weekend.
